The Lone Wolf and Cub film series is the best that the movie world has to offer in samurai films: strong revenge story, strong actors' performances, action, beautiful scenery, brutal bloodshed, spectacular fight scenes, several entertaining subplots, and the films do not contain boring soap operas or interpersonal dramas.

This is one of my favorite film series. It's surprising you didn't mention the influence the story has had on American films and TV like the Mandalorian, Road to Perdition, Logan or The Professional. American and Japanese films have borrowed a lot from each other the years.
In any case, you should check out Sword of Doom and Samurai Assassin. Sword of Doom is an unfinished trilogy that was recreated later in the 70's but not as well done.

Yes, now that you said it, it was completely unsaid in video. Indeed, the film series has influenced the birth of many films and TV series, their plots and events.
I'll have to do another revision of the video at some point.

@@allsortofmovies You could do a video on the back and forth influences of samurai films and westerns/gangster movies. There's a lot that could be said on that subject for sure.

@@TalesofStories Yes, that's a good idea. Kurosawa's Seven Samurai and Yojimbo films alone have influenced several other film genres.
