- When I kayaked from the Forth Estuary to the Clyde Estuary using the canal system, I was invited by Scottish Canals to make use of the famous Falkirk Wheel as I transitioned from the Union Canal to the Forth / Clyde Canal. It was a fun and unique experience.
such an elegant solution, my little daughter went up with her granny the other way and still remembers it.. we sat and had a pint 🙄 happy 60th
Such understated modesty. Hats off & well done to Nick !
Thank you very much.
great to see the Falkirk Wheel in action and from this angle. Thankyou
Yes we visited in 2017 and just recently went on the Anderton boat lift
Thank you too.
I once visited the wheel from the shore side. It is wonderful to see it from the other side. Thank you for sharing.
I’m pleased you enjoyed it, thank you.
Wholesome encounter! Very nice!
Thank you.
very cool i have been to see the wheel in 2018 on a trip to scotland . i would love to sea kayak the wheel . but would love to bring my Valley over to do it. , not sure how to get it there from Canada ( would be expensive) . Your Kayak look like a Valley Etain?
Amazing 👏
Thank you Edward.
Interesting to see the wheel in action from a kayaker’s perspective. I’m guessing most paddlers wouldn’t be able to do this.
I think it’s possible if planned in advance. Thank you.
What camera set up do you have. It's great
wow!
Thanks Veronica.
Where is the camera?!
Looks like he's using an Insta 360 which can record is 360 degrees at any time, so the camera looks invisible to viewers
Hi Deborah, it’s a 360° camera and the panning effect is achieved when editing the footage in the accompanying app. The camera is mounted on my deck on a short pole which doesn’t show up in the film.
