- A immaculate example of a 1991 Philippines made Cobra 148GTL. The radio has been modded so now it can be fully used on FM and and extra bands (High & Mid). The radio was imported from the USA. Guys why buy the newer radio stuff when you can own a classic radio with a superb build quality. Receive is ultra silent on this radio, it does not suffer with interference like some new radio's on the market. Right rant over, next video to come the Uniden Grant XL, Best 73's for now 26TM165 - Russ.

Another great looking in radio
THE high mod and the Fm is good.
Nice video THANKS for the upload.
Nice radio in superb condition and good presentation. Well done.
Hi, I have just bought one of these. Please could you help me find someone to expand it to cover .555 and UK FM frequencies.
Any chance this 148 is available for sale?
I'm running low on those, I've only got 4 148s and 3 Grant XLs, all Taiwanese.
I'd swap my working ARF-2001 if you covered shipping to/from the States.
Hi Radio Brother - I’m afraid 😱 I will keeping this little beauty for now. If I ever change my mind in the future you will be the first person to know. Thank you for watching ❤️👍
Any info on how to make the modification for FM?
Spectrum communications sell the FM board for this radio. The part no would be FM455 add on board. Good luck 👍
Hi guys I have a 148 gtl dx and it needs a health check please contact me if anyone can help...Thanks guys.
Try signing up to the Transmission 1 CB Radio forum. There is a lovely chap called Nick Black Spirit he carry’s out all my UK work, really top tech. ❤
Legendary Cobra 148 GTL. but I have to disagree as far as the Philippine Taiwan being better than the Malaysia they're all good radios. I've had all three of them, and actually the Philippine the Taiwan didn't last as long as the Malaysia, which I still have today many many years later. The Philippines and Taiwan started having a lot of issues I don't know why people say that Philippines and Taiwan they all perform well but my personal experience and a few other people that I know, the Malaysia didn't have problems so I disagree even though they are popular the Malaysia should not be left behind. Another thing to keep in mind depends how you take care of the radio, if you misuse it, there's always that golden screwdriver people going inside of the radio that do not know what they're doing. It all depends that all factors in not necessarily which of the three radios are better...
Appreciate the comment. I guess it’s down to preference. Thanks for watching 👍
