100% agree Alex is a major player in 2024....Its funy how Alex is not even mentioned when Perez seat is being discussed. DR hasnt exactly lit up the time sheets and it getting smoked by Yuki. Alex contract is up and has shown he is still fast and not on Max level to upset him and he is a known entity. I think next year might damage Alex stock though... the Racing Bulls (or whatever) are gonna have a RB19-B and i doubt Williams will compete with them... and if Aston, RB, Ferrari, Mercedes and Mclaren stay where they are... Alex's points will be few and far between
As much as I want them to get good again and the momentum is im their favour, we shouldn't get too carried away from a 7th position in the constructors imo
No but like, if they do get to being a Top 3 team, Albon and Vowles combo will be seen as the saviors. Which will be very cool and such a last laugh for Albon.
The part you mentioned about the brain drain at the top is an effect of the cost cap that most people don't consider. I think it's a big part of why the field (non Red Bull category) was tighter than it's been in years. In the past the top teams could afford to hoard talent leaving the more marginal people for the lower teams; now the personnel hit their pay ceilings at the top teams and, as you said, take higher paying positions at lower teams. I really think this will be a rare example of the FIA actually doing something right.
I love Alex- supported him since his first season in 2019. So I have supported him through all his high and low moments. I remember how tough his low moment was losing his seat at Red Bull but despite all the hardships, he has really persevered and found a nice home at Williams and is now thriving. ❤ i am here continuing to support him all the way 😊❤
Alex is doing a great job helping Williams develop the car. He did a great job developing the RB19 through the sim. Too bad he doesn't drive the actual car.
James Vowles and Alex Albon proved you don't need to be abrasive a-holes to make gains on the grid. I love Alex and he put in a lot of work last year, but I think James was what moved the needle so far for Williams in 2023. Not taking anything away from Alex, he's my favorite driver by far.
Hopefully Alex had a good performance bonus clause like Kimi did for Lotus. €50k per point x 27 points = €1.35M? Not quite Kimi’s bankruptcy enduring 390 points (19.5M) but a 45% increase over his reported €3M. Add to that maybe an additional bonus for ever constructor standing and he could be doing okay this year. I’m sure everyone on the team loves him all the more because they all probably have a performance bonus in their contracts too. A nice drama free co-worker who also got everyone a bonus? It’s like the opposite of how everyone must feel about Lance Stroll over at Aston Martin…😂
Dorilton capital might take the Bankruptcy risk if the devil offered them a bargain of Alex scoring 390 points. That would put him 2nd in the driver standings and at least 4th in the constructors (probably higher since the points would have to come out of the other teams). Even without the added prize money that would cover bonus amount the added value of the team when they eventually sell (or even if they just kept and used as collateral) would be worth it. 😂
I love your content. I agree that Alex Albon is a credit to the Williams team, and I especially agree that James Vowels was just the type of leader the team needed. That said, however, I think that having a teammate like Alex would make it hard for a rookie like Logan to compare. I know there's been a lot said about Logan too and the perceived "he's done nothing" speech, but with a team mate like Alex and a rookie like Oscar Piastri, cmon, the competition is tough! I still appreciate your other video about Logan too btw ♥
From the recent interviews he's done, it sounds to me like Alex is committed to staying at Williams. With Vowles at the helm, that team is on the up and up. There's this false, Drive To Survive inspired feeling that Williams are the worst team out there, but more informed folks know the truth is Williams were a solid midfield team as recently as 2016/2017, before Massa left. They were regularly finishing races in the top ten. They're a legendary team who most long time F1 fans adore. To be one of the guys that brings them back towards the top is a great position to be in. I think Alex knows this and will stay with them for quite a while. Vowles and Albon will be Williams ultimate saviours, I think. I'm excited for their future.
That's exactly it. The mood there is incredibly positive and Alex is the undisputed leader. Why would he leave something so good? I'd say if Williams fumble 2026 is the earliest he could consider moving.
The only scenario I think that would make sense at all for Albon to move from Williams is if a new team wants him to come in as their lead driver. I think he stays at Williams.
I think that Williams keeping Sargeant is a brilliant financial decision. Let him develop his skills over the time until Andretti are in the sport, and get a nice deal passing over an experienced American driver to head up their infant team. It's a win, win for everyone in my books.
That's one way to look at it yes. If they wanna keep Albon they will need to spend more to do so...but making a car less likely to cause major crashes will help too!

What, Audi? I doubt it. I reckon he will go for a 2-year extension with Williams. Why would he leave the team right when the results of his efforts could be about to bear fruit?
Completely off topic. If anyone is going to COTA this year, book your hotel now. It was just announced that Georgia will be playing Texas in Austin (HUGE NCAA football game) next year on the same weekend. Hotels and traffic will be interesting…
Someone needs to bring back showmanship , both on and off the track, as well as excitement, danger, fun and humour to the sport. I’m not an F1 fan, but all sport is showbiz, so let’s be honest about it.
Well that’s where you are wrong. It’s only the microwave society that see sport that way. Others see it as a test of human performance. Showman are clowns in a circus. Unfortunately F1 does provide the circus but it doesn’t mean F1 drivers are clowns.
Albon really represents a new era of Williams since he's a completely different driver to the aggressive, conformational types they've historically had. Jones was a lump of granite, Mansell was an ape who's only modes were fast and gravel trap, Villeneuve is the personification of confrontation and contrarianism, hill was inconsistent and blame gamey, let's not even mention Piquet and then there's Montoya who was a nut job with no sense of fear or self preservation. Albon is totally different and a better approach
Very true. Albon is a lot smoother. I'd love to see Jenson take on a more involved role with the team and work with Alex to make that Williams a *ahem* smooth operation.
Personally, but I would love to see happen would be for Alex to stay at Williams and four him to somehow end up with George Russell as a teammate because those two together I think would bring Wiliams right back to the top.
An interesting viewpoint on an established driver, he should stay at a team where he is valued, formula one as a whole needs new drivers, without a turnover of drivers it does become stale, for 2024 read 2023 with new liveries on the teams that don’t want to win.
Albon is a justifiable driver to keep around as his story is wonderful and we can now begin to see the value he brings to the sport as the guy part of the Williams renaissance...hopefully.
I kinda want Williams to be slightly more ruthless with their junior drivers, while keeping Alex as their Nr. 1 driver (and helping developing their car). If Sargeant doesn't step up by mid 2024, he needs to go. And I want him replaced with a new rookie.
I reckon they'll keep him for 2024 and then either take Colapinto, O'Sullivan or Antonelli with the view for the latter to go to Mercedes for 2026 if he does well.
He should stay at Williams. Sure he wont be fighting for a championship any time soon but he is valued - and I would argue that's equally important. It also sets himself up very well to go to mercedes when Lewis leaves. Alex has many more years in F1 and I don't think he's past his effectiveness. long game
Horner thinking Alex was too nice is quite interesting, seeing as Albon also said he was a big yes-man when he was at RB. I wonder if Horner meant Alex didn't have the backbone he needed to butt heads with the team when he needed to in the way that a Carlos Sainz or Fernando Alonso have shown. Not to the extent of harming the relationship as Gasly had (allegedly) done, but enough to assert himself
I can see him staying at williams for 1 more year until 2025, then maybe replacing Lewis at Mercedes while Vesti gains experience at another team. But hoping he stays at Williams long term
I reckon he'll be better than last year and will have a car that isn't on a knife edge. Alex said the Williams car needs tons of experience to get the best out of it.
The reason Albon will return to Red Bull if called upon is Williams has won one race since 2004. Red Bull, yeah you know how many they've won in that time frame. Also more money,
The market turns on Sainz. Should he go from Ferrari Alex will take a shot at getting the seat. I think it’s the only one he will be interested in. Being a Ferrari driver trumps being a lead driver for a Thai. The kudos, the opportunity to win a race, the history, and Frank.
Absolutely agree he should stay at Williams. I do however think he would make a great Mercedes driver. Not going to happen with some shenanigans though.
If Alex does move on to a top team, I see him joining Mercedes to replace Lewis. Everyone will be expecting Alex to be George's no.2 but I don't think Alex will take that sitting down. George and Alex will be the new generation Lewis and Nico. Merc will continue its tradition of destroying childhood friendships.
As a tangent, I see this happening in 2026 or 27. Merc might nail the new engine regulations the same way they did in 2014. Lewis retires after one last shot at the title (regardless of him winning or not). Merc arranges a driver swap: they get Albon in exchange for Antonelli. Williams would be running Antonelli and Colapinto (Logan is sent to Haas with KMag retiring).
I know this is borrowing the tinfoil cap but... What if James Vowles is at Williams training to take over Mercedes when Toto rides off into the sunset with Hamilton, as he loves being associated with one of the greats. Then James comes back to take over Mercedes, which he knows inside out, and brings Alex with him using the Mercedes budget to make that happen?
Alex will go to Merc when Hamilton retires. George and Alex is perfect for that team. Both of them are incredible at getting the best out of underperforming cars.
You compare Alex to Max and Charles, and yet think Williams is his best place to be. Really? First, i don't think his amicable personality is the main reason of his success; it's his natural (also much improved) drive skills and craft that merits his place in the sport. Second, all drivers want to win races if not dream of becoming a world champion; imo Williams wont be close to having winning cars in the next four, five years. If Alex were to leave Williams, I'd argue that Mercedes is a good fit for him, especially if Lewis is still racing with them. Alex can take on the support role that George never seems to be comfortable in giving, and become a better driver and possibly a real contender, learning from the 7x champion
The good nature of Alex is a major boost for the team and he knows seemingly what to do to extract the best out of the car and of his crew. His skill is also noteworthy too as he did score nearly 100 points in his rookie season.
Aston Martin is another great team for Alex to join but there’s no opening. Fernando isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and Lance isn’t either until he tires of the sport or if the sponsors and coowners of the team somehow force his father to make a driver change.
Sacrifice a season is a stupid idea if your team is allready behind they need to carry the momentum on gahter important data and develop the car and just keep push forward success atracts sucess and albon stay at williams its the place to be volwes must bring he's A game and do what ever it takes to make the car faster
It only works if the car is absolutely terrible already and there's a rule change coming. It worked for Haas for a while. They were the 5th fastest car...but then they still didn't develop it.
I hope he stays and maybe replaces Lewis when he retires. I don't want him back in the Red Bull grinder. It doesn't seem like a nice place to work if you're not exactly like Max
Money is a powerful solvent. It dissolves contracts and political morals on contact. Never say never. I hope Alex stays with Williams. The partnership does work. Lance Stroll's deal is not as secure as is made out to be. Aramco is a growing partner.
I think he should stick to Williams, but if he left to a better ride, Aston Martin or McLaren. The 'top' rides Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes are toxic environments. And Alpine is also another toxic situation.
Mate what is up with your thumbnails? I always feel like I've been given a minor dose of Mushrooms when I look at the faces of the people in them. They just don't look right.🤨
He's good, but just admited in an interview that Verstappen has alien skills of driving, that Alex cannot comprehend. He also said that he's ready to win championships, but this statement is shadowed by the previous one, implying that he needs a better car than Max.
He said the car Redbull gave them both, Max was able to get much more from it because of his unique driving style. Alex has his own way of driving and whose to say he can’t compete for a championship with a car that suits him better?
Of course. That's why Alex needs to find himself at Williams and if he sticks this out and sees the journey through with them, he will be a more complete driver; like Gasly is now.

Stop talking like Alex was always good. He probably hit his peak he won’t survive if he is racing against a strong competitive driver or in a car where you are expected to finish in points every race. It’s not redemption it’s Busch league in F1
@@LawVS not going to lie didn’t watch your video the whole way the first time. Just assumed at some point that you would be conspiring Checo to Albon. Checo is at least as nice as Albon. Won a race in the racing point. Has never gone a season without winning a race for Red Bull. Albon has recently tried to say he did better in the Red Bull comparatively to how Checo did this year. What, Audi? I doubt it. I reckon he will go for a 2-year extension with Williams. Why would he leave the team right when the results of his efforts could be about to bear fruit?
Yea but im not quite sure with my prediction but will never know
Completely off topic. If anyone is going to COTA this year, book your hotel now. It was just announced that Georgia will be playing Texas in Austin (HUGE NCAA football game) next year on the same weekend. Hotels and traffic will be interesting…
Oh dear. I hate it when there's a clash for rooms for two different events.
Albon is Merc driver in the making.
Maybe, since Toto is a shareholder at Williams.
Someone needs to bring back showmanship , both on and off the track, as well as excitement, danger, fun and humour to the sport. I’m not an F1 fan, but all sport is showbiz, so let’s be honest about it.
Of course, I understand that. Albon's story is definitely a lovely one.
Man i hope Albon doesn't flop next season 😅
I doubt he would. That car will be better in 2024.
Personally, but I would love to see happen would be for Alex to stay at Williams and four him to somehow end up with George Russell as a teammate because those two together I think would bring Wiliams right back to the top.
Those two could make Williams really good
An interesting viewpoint on an established driver, he should stay at a team where he is valued, formula one as a whole needs new drivers, without a turnover of drivers it does become stale, for 2024 read 2023 with new liveries on the teams that don’t want to win.
3:40 considering how good Kimi Antonelli seems to be, Williams would want him anyway.
Depends if Colapinto outperforms him.
He should stay at Williams. Sure he wont be fighting for a championship any time soon but he is valued - and I would argue that's equally important. It also sets himself up very well to go to mercedes when Lewis leaves. Alex has many more years in F1 and I don't think he's past his effectiveness.
long game
Exactly. The feeling of being valued is so important to a driver's performance. That's why Oscar is slaying it at McLaren.
@@LawVS it does so much.and he can be a massive asset there. His stock will go up
Horner thinking Alex was too nice is quite interesting, seeing as Albon also said he was a big yes-man when he was at RB. I wonder if Horner meant Alex didn't have the backbone he needed to butt heads with the team when he needed to in the way that a Carlos Sainz or Fernando Alonso have shown. Not to the extent of harming the relationship as Gasly had (allegedly) done, but enough to assert himself
Alex was kinda allured into taking the top tier seat. It's kinda like why Carlos moved to Ferrari, he had to.
I'd rather be "too nice" than have Max's arrogance and sense of entitlement.
Agreed. Being nice in the way Alex is gets your team motivated in a healthier manner.
Plus, Vowles had limited time on making the Williams better. Next year might be a better car, we will see.
Of course. James made do with a very limited set of tools. Next year will look more hopeful right from the get go.
Let's not forget the 20 year old HQs
I can see him staying at williams for 1 more year until 2025, then maybe replacing Lewis at Mercedes while Vesti gains experience at another team. But hoping he stays at Williams long term
I can see him doing a two year extension to see out the fruits of Williams' labours
Hopefully Logan can be a proper number 2 to Alex to help propel Williams back up to their glory days
I reckon he'll be better than last year and will have a car that isn't on a knife edge. Alex said the Williams car needs tons of experience to get the best out of it.
@@LawVS Absolutely, hence why it was so important for Williams to give Logan a second chance to get habituated to the characteristics of the car
The reason Albon will return to Red Bull if called upon is Williams has won one race since 2004. Red Bull, yeah you know how many they've won in that time frame. Also more money,
I get that and those are valid points...but based on his past experience and maturity, I doubt he would go back.
The market turns on Sainz. Should he go from Ferrari Alex will take a shot at getting the seat. I think it’s the only one he will be interested in. Being a Ferrari driver trumps being a lead driver for a Thai. The kudos, the opportunity to win a race, the history, and Frank.
That's true. Carlos is another key driver. He and Alex will make waves.
Absolutely agree he should stay at Williams. I do however think he would make a great Mercedes driver. Not going to happen with some shenanigans though.
Let's see what happens with Lewis and George. Albon COULD slide in if Toto deems it necessary.
That's not a bad idea, but I reckon Williams is the place to be otherwise.
It's a good point and Toto has said he hasn't found a worthy successor yet at Mercedes.
I really hope he stays, for his sake and the teams as well. I don’t think either party would benifit from him leaving
I doubt he'd leave them until they were on an even keel.
Alex will go to Merc when Hamilton retires. George and Alex is perfect for that team. Both of them are incredible at getting the best out of underperforming cars.
It's a fairly logical idea...but it depends whether or not Antonelli gets into F1 and impresses. If he does, Toto will whack the kid in with George.
Brigth future
Definitely. I'm glad he has a place to call home.
I think the logical move for alex is to go to mercedes post lewis retirement
That's the only option if he wants to avoid team order issues.
Alex should stay with Williams no matter what.
He's got something good there.
Alex and russel could be a good combo. In 2028 after lewis perhaps wins his 8th😂
I dispute Adrian Newey being the best car designer in f1 history.
That’s 1000% Colin Chapman, surely.
Colin Chapman is the pioneer for sure.
Perhaps. Alonso would be fair but tough but Alex deserves to be a team leader.
@@LawVS yes which Alex is at Williams Racing.
I'd take $3,000,000 that's alot in CAD
Fair enough.
Mercedes after Lewis retirement
Maybe, but I see that being an Antonelli/Russell lineup in 2026 if Kimi gets a chance in 2025.
Audi : Huklkenberg / Albon ? No leader but two consistent talents to stear the ship into F1 ......
It's certainly doable but it depends on Williams' trajectory. But again, solid idea.
I hope he stays and maybe replaces Lewis when he retires. I don't want him back in the Red Bull grinder. It doesn't seem like a nice place to work if you're not exactly like Max
Seems to be the common notion amongst the comments.
Money is a powerful solvent. It dissolves contracts and political morals on contact. Never say never. I hope Alex stays with Williams. The partnership does work. Lance Stroll's deal is not as secure as is made out to be. Aramco is a growing partner.
JAMES please dont do the sacrifice a season draw , please dont , you can see haas , please a no no it is
Don't pull a Ross Brawn, it's not worth it in the short term!
I think he should stick to Williams, but if he left to a better ride, Aston Martin or McLaren. The 'top' rides Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes are toxic environments. And Alpine is also another toxic situation.
Agreed. He needs to go to a team where he can be THE LEADER, he's done with being the second.
Mate what is up with your thumbnails? I always feel like I've been given a minor dose of Mushrooms when I look at the faces of the people in them. They just don't look right.🤨
It's the Camera Raw Filter doing its thing. But sometimes my takes are trippy.
@@LawVS Huh? Why do you need a filter for screenshots of people's faces? It only makes everyone look weirdly out of focus lol.
Maybe join Mercedes when Hamilton retires.
I reckon it'll either be Mick, Antonelli or Esteban. But Alex should be considered too
He's good, but just admited in an interview that Verstappen has alien skills of driving, that Alex cannot comprehend.

One way to look at it?
...ALSO......DUDE I KINDA DISAGREE WITH YOUR MAIN OPINION LIKE *TOTALLY* .......BC *_ALBON+LECLERC WOULD VE CREATE A NICE SYNERGY AS WELL_* ......BC BOTH ARE FAST BOTH ARENT JACKASSES LIKE NANDO OR CARLOS........BOTH ARE TEAM PLAYERS......SO THEY'LL GET ALONG PRETTY MUCH WELL SO IF FERRARI WILL ALLOW ALBON TO GET SOME WINS BC THEY'LL BE TRYING TO CRAWL CHARLES TO TITLE..........ALBON WILL BE PRETTY MUCH FINE ESPECIALLY IF HE'LL BEFRIEND COMMON EMPLOYEES LIKE MICHAEL WAS DOING, FOR EXAMPLE...........AND HE'S THIS KIND OF GUY, RIGHT????
..........SOOOO....... *IF WILLIAMS DUDES WILL WANT BETTER FUTURE FOR ALEX THEY SHOULD VE CONVINCE FERARI TO PICK UP THE DUDE ON CARLOS'S PLACE AT 25 SEASON* ..........SIMPLE GUY AT SIMPLE TEAM........THAT IS ESPECIALLY IN NEED OF KIND OF DUDES LIKE THAT BC SCUDERIA IS IN ONGOING CRISIS WHICH DOESNT SEEM TO END.......
.....OK SAID ENOUGH.......BC NOT MUCH TO SAY ANYWAYS
Fair enough.
Stop talking like Alex was always good. He probably hit his peak he won’t survive if he is racing against a strong competitive driver or in a car where you are expected to finish in points every race. It’s not redemption it’s Busch league in F1
The fact he's managed to give Williams some hope is good enough for me. That team needs every bit of hope they can get right now.
Don’t play into the hype and the discrimination. Red Bull got rid of Albon because they don’t think he could win a race and they are probably going to be correct with the number of quali laps and race laps Alex got deleted this year.
Maybe look in the mirror and realize that your as bad as your trying to make out people talking crap on Checo @@robertford8489
Stop calling Alex a top tier driver he got bodied by max
Yes, in 2020. However he can a top tier driver in being a great leader that any struggling team would love to have.
@@LawVS maybe but he wouldn't be able to beat max if they were team mates again there's a reason none of the drivers including Albon are begging to get into the other red bull.
