Ran into these guys at a local gas station/SUBWAY. I caught a glimpse.and said DAMN! I think that's Wino?? They were on the way to Asheville N.C. Just walked up to him and said "I knew it was you!!" Took a pic with him. No one else knew that a damn legend of rock n roll was standing in the parking lot eating a sandwich. Lol. Crazy the guy I have almost every cd or album of damn near every band he has been a part of right there in a Exxon. Super nice guy. I was like a giddy school girl. Thanks for that memory Wino.
Chris Lovern 2 weeks ago a local bar that has doom metal bands play had a show. I didn't know any of the bands but went anyway. When I got there I grabbed a beer, went to the stage and there he was the legend, Wino. I couldn't believe it. After the show I grabbed the set list and had him autograph it. It was magic dude. It still seems like it never happened but then I break out the set list and there it is, Wino. Unbelievable. Still doesn't say the obsessed on the club website for that night.
I went to Zia, looking for obsessed, spirit caravan, hidden hand, Wino solo...etc. two days ago. Didn't find anything but the new obsessed comp. At least they had that. I first knew Wino as the second singer for st vitus. And I got the third obsessed when it was new. I guess I'll have to order the rest on line. And I will, too. I'm on a mission. Not a gig or a good time, I'm on a mission. To get physical copies of everything Wino was involved with.
yes!!!! The Emerald Law is an incredible track, obviously from Probot, which is great from start to finish, Grohl and Wino should do something as that tune is one of my favourite Obsessed tunes full stop!!!!
I think there's no doubt Thee Obsessed is the heaviest Doom metal band these days! Let's start ranking Wino in the top 100 best metal guitarists, at least in the top 20 or better! Rock on!
A new album by The Obsessed(after all this time?).It turns out to be pretty amazi9ng.Better than expected.I`m really into these Witchfinder general,Count Raven,Dream Death,Death SS,St Vitus,Penance etc.A great buy is Sacred.Takecare folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like it better if Wino let his bassist do more Geezer like stuff. That's a huge component stoner/doom bands don't get it was Ozzy's wail, Tony's riffs, Geezer's fluid pentatonic fills, and Ward's off time almost jazzlike percussion. I love The Obsessed, but Sleep, Sheavy, Cathedral on Caravan Beyond Redemption way closer to the Sabbath vibe imho

Saint Vitus was way closer to Sabbath than any of those bands. They practically reinvented doom metal.
I haven't heard all of Blackwulf's albums, but Thieves And Liars at .75x speed has a definite Sabbath vibe

Maybe you need a better subwoofer. Then, again, mine doesn't ever seem to stop thumping--even on flute recordings.
