They change it because some writer is trying to prove he can do better.
Make your own shit dude! The fans are gonna tear you apart for ruining their favorite franchise!

The best sci-fi books (and fantasy, in my opinion) are exploring/presenting/asking some really interesting issues or even philosophies. To recreate that in a new format requires the same level of intelligence as the original author had. Sadly, most directors (that get big bugets) doesn't have that because that's not what the industry rewards.
So in most cases I just read the books.

What i do find interesting is when a tv / movie adaptation gets the original author(s) involved and serves as a kind of "second take" - such as the The Expanse series.
I also really hope that if we get a Mass Effect Movie or Series, that it's gonna be a Prequel, for example depiciting the first contact war in the first movie/season.

They will ruin it and everyone knows it. Why would you want that? There's about 1,5 decent game movies and the rest is below average at best.

@@szysi3k I think in the last couple of years game adaptations have become signifiantly better (the dumpfire that was HALO not included), so i hope that if a studio that actually cares about the source material gets to do a ME movie, or what i would far prefer, a series, it could actually be good.

@@avsbes98 Give me your TOP10 decent video games movies then. Nah, nothing got better.

Honestly, she brought many of the problems i had with valerian and the city of a thousand planets. Such an interesting world to explore an we have to focus on a pair of unlikable meatbags and the most generic species of aliens despite there being hundreds of other more interesting ones

Wish i caught this stream so I could have inevitably written paragraphs of chats explaining how Geega is right about a potential Mass Effect movie

I'm a big advocate for sci-fi movies not needing to be "good movies" to be good sci-fi movies. I don't think Oblivion or Space Sweepers are particularly great movies but they have cool ideas conveyed through neat visuals and that's enough for me to go back and rewatch them once in a while

I don’t think mass effect be a good more, it to choice based and too interpersonal. It really about you making your own story.

That's why i think that the perfect way to do a Mass Effect Movie would be to adapt some of the prequel novels into a movie or a series - For example adapt the first contact war for the first season of a ME Show.

Maybe if they did an anime and made it kind of like Fate/Stay Night, with different primary routes.

Putting random, pointless romance in movies and TV shows ruin them. STOP IT.
