I made eye contact with Hayley when she sang this in Melbourne recently. I had tears pouring down my face while screaming this back to her. The sad but understanding look in her eyes was the most healing experience of my life.
Ever since this live version came out I can't listen to the original song without the note changes Hayley does in this live. And just commenting again on the 'All I Wanted' live version on Bonnaroo this year haha
I admit, I had no idea she was this good. I was 27 by the time Paramore really hit the mainstream. I thought of them as an emo-pop band for teenagers. I ignored them the way I ignored My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco, and so on. I was probably unfair to all those groups. This is some of the best live singing I've ever heard, and I like the song too.
Panic at the Disco a little less so, but My Chemical Romance has survived into my mid-20s as a top 5 band of all time for me. Their "Black Parade" album is straight up one of the best every made, of any genre or era (at least imo) Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco is one of the most naturally talented vocalists I've ever seen though.
@@ladrac198 Chris did a video on "Viva Las Vengeance" recently and I was really impressed with the arrangements and performances. Not only were there great Queen-like harmonies, but my understanding is the whole thing was done to tape. Meaning very little editing. Brendan Urie hits some insanely high notes.
yes! i never took them seriously either but started listening in the last few years. all three are amazing musicians who just happened to be discovered very young. brendon urie is also incredible live.
Yeah, Hayley and Brendon Urie (Panic at the disco) are some of the most talented singers of the early 2000s by far. Their music doesn't blatantly showcase it all the time but when you listen past the style and break it down you hear the magic of what they're actually doing
i get overlooking the band : ) im not a fan of all of their music but i do love the band, i love em because hayley is a one of those one time im a generation voices
I saw Paramore while they were on this tour (well, technically, it was Leeds Festival) and I was blown away. I've seen Paramore live three times now and they're like no other band. I work as a concert photographer and I've seen a lot of bands but there's no show like a Paramore show. Hayley's stage presence is incredible and in my opinion, she's one of the most skilled vocalists and performers out there.
Hayley Williams have been one of my favorite vocalist for years! I’d love to see you react to let the flames begin live including the extended outro. The way she’s able to headbang and keep her voice steady has always been crazy to me!
Love that you are exploring more of Paramore and Hayley's voice! People are finally realizing how amazing Paramore is and how much vocal prowess Hayley has!
By the way, I gave Haley her flowers, but that bassist is fantastic too. Great part, perfectly played, with killer tone. I know this is a vocal channel, but as someone who's been playing bass for over 25 years I had to give him his props.
100% agree that she’s not only a good singer but also a great performer. I went to my first paramore concert this year in São Paulo and it was so fun bc she’s always interacting with the crowd, talking, asking things and telling us to do stuff, to be part of the show!
you should totally react to their performance of All I Wanted at Bonaroo. a song they never thought they would play because of how intense hayley’s vocal performance is on the song, but they finally started playing the song this year!

Amazing video! Paramore is my all time favorite band, Hayley is undoubtedly one of the greatest singers and performers I've ever seen. I would love to see a video on Decode or All I Wanted, some more aggressive songs compared to the last two you've done on them!
Hayley is without a doubt one of the best performers in music, and Last Hope is my favorite song from Paramore, even if you only account for composition and instrumentals. I urge you to check out some of her other live performances, with particular emphasis on "My Heart" and "Let The Flames Begin", of which you can find multiple master class performances of both.
Hayley is such an incredible vocalist. If you haven’t, check out any of the few videos of them performing All I Wanted live. It’s like a 15 year old song that they had never performed live before the first year of WWWY. It’s the song that is the absolute top of her vocal range. She has the second largest vocal range in recorded music. Only Mariah Carey has a larger range in recordings.
Hiii beautiful Souls right here 💖 I'm Bella, from Portugal. I listen to Paramore and the authentic Hayley Williams since 2005 and here I am. I'm listening to this beautiful human being that I really feel that she is and you man, you're incredible too. Thank you so much for supporting all kind of artists so people can understand more than what they voices sound, the techniques they use but what they transmitt to us. I feel that are those feelings that our heart feel more, more than a beautiful or powerfull voice. 💖
If you could help me sing like Hayley I'd be pretty stoked. I try to imitate her but I just can't get the projection I want. Also it's a shame her song "All I Wanted" isn't more popular because that's her best vocal performance technically, both live and on the album.
Is it too early to request another Hayley Williams vocal analysis? I think you'd lose your MIND listening to her solo tune "Simmer". Particularly in the second verse...
Hey Chris, I am a fan of you for a quite a long time now and I've understood what singing is all about, thanks to you. It's about getting into the role, paying tribute to the lyrics, being comfortable and It's really the same thing as great acting. You have done many reviews on singers, but never on a rapper. For me the greatest is XXXTENTACION, I'm pretty sure you have heard of him. He was like Michael Jackson in some context. If not publicly, listen to Young Bratz, Take a step back, Jocelyn Flores, Revenge... privately (cuz of the explicit lyrics) and see how great he was. If you read this comment i want to tell you I thank god that i sometime earlier stumbled upon your channel and from then on everything has changed. So please let me know what you thing. Love ❤️
So we can suggest something?! What about some "Shaman's Harvest - Dragonfly" (acoustic live)? =) Or maybe some more popular things, like this - "30 seconds to mars - The kill acoustic live in Moscow".
They even have quite a few better songs than this one, but her performance here makes it sound better than it really is, so that's when they say "She could even sing the phone book". And she was not sparing her voice, she was also shouting to the audience! She's got all the technique in the world but she sounds as real as a grunge singer back in the day. She always puts variations in the performance. And, as always, she "feeds" the lyrics to the listener. Her voice is thick, maybe she's not even a full soprano. She's not "singing": she's being.
Hi Chris! Could you make a video about signing with acid reflux? Sometimes, you briefly talked about that in your videos. But i recently found out i have silent acid reflux. I just wanted to know some tips from you, please! What do you do when you have it? Do you still sing? Have you got any tips for making it go away, quicky? Do you drink or eat anything that protects the vocal folds from it? Does it actually have an impact on vocal folds? Many thanks, i hope you'll read my comment🙏

More and more Paramore.. The vocal of a generation 🔥 🔥 👏🏽
Amazing video! Paramore is my all time favorite band, Hayley is undoubtedly one of the greatest singers and performers I've ever seen. I would love to see a video on Decode or All I Wanted, some more aggressive songs compared to the last two you've done on them!
Yesss!!!
Keep picking these great rock vocalists!
She slays this live! She's so incredible.
I freaking love Haley ❤️. Beautiful lyrics and amazing soft soul.
I love your analysis! I especially love Hayley!! Her voice is so beautiful and strong, ❤hits my heart just right
what's even more impressive is that in this show Hayley felt pretty sick overall and wasn't at the fullest of her health. incredible voice
You need to react to her singing All I Wanted live
My fav live from paramore❤
So happy you did analyze this video! It's one of my favourite performances of theirs and it's great to see it showcased!
Good lord, the tone and texture of her voice is like butter! Another good one Chris. Thank you sir.
i discovered them one morning as a kid watching mtv before school haha this is my favorite song ❤
Thank you, felt like I learned something from this video.
Great video, could you one for the live version of "All I wanted" by paramore, hayley vocals are insane
YES!!
im using your videos to pratice my english
I have seen them live 9 times. She really loves this song, it is obvious at the show. This imo is the best live performance recorded of Paramore.
Her best hair color of any era ❤❤❤
I like her red hair, but you're definitely not wrong.
I get chills every time I listen to this live performance
Love from nepal 🎵 you are my inspiration to sing songs ☠️ greatest vocal coach i have ever seen in my life 🎈
Hayley is without a doubt one of the best performers in music, and Last Hope is my favorite song from Paramore, even if you only account for composition and instrumentals.
I've been getting a lot of Paramore on my feed and I love it!!!!
I love me some Hayley Williams! I also love Paramore :) This is so cool to watch!
well u have to check out Paramore - All I Wanted live Bonaroo 2023
You've got to do her All I Wanted Bonnarroo performance.
My favorite Paramore song
Please do an analysis on Paramore's studio multitrack.
I have. It’s on the end screen of this video :)
I love paramore ❤
Hayleys blue hair era had some of her best vocal performances
Hiii beautiful Souls right here 💖 I'm Bella, from Portugal.
I listen to Paramore and the authentic Hayley Williams since 2005 and here I am. I'm listening to this beautiful human being that I really feel that she is and you man, you're incredible too. Thank you so much for supporting all kind of artists so people can understand more than what they voices sound, the techniques they use but what they transmitt to us. I feel that are those feelings that our heart feel more, more than a beautiful or powerfull voice. 💖
React to her singing Turn it off (2009) to see more of her vocal potencial.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHH From argentina, i need more movies of hayley wiliiams!! plssss
keep going!!! I'm loving this series on Hayley!
If you could help me sing like Hayley I'd be pretty stoked. I try to imitate her but I just can't get the projection I want. Also it's a shame her song "All I Wanted" isn't more popular because that's her best vocal performance technically, both live and on the album.
Great video
“Honk it!” 🖤⚡️ ha yes.
do declan mckenna next if you haven't yet! he has so much confidence and playfulness with his vocals
Please do decode live from ACL 2022
Second best day everrr
you need react to paramore playing all i wanted in bonnaroo
❤❤
Is it too early to request another Hayley Williams vocal analysis? I think you'd lose your MIND listening to her solo tune "Simmer". Particularly in the second verse...
Could you react to All I Wanted live (specifically the LA performance last month, she had a LUNG INFECTION and still absolutely killed it)
Hey Chris, I am a fan of you for a quite a long time now and I've understood what singing is all about, thanks to you.
Love ❤️
Hi Chris, could you do a vocal analysis on City and Colour (Dallas Green)?
Try the song Mountain of Madness
react to all i wanted at bonnaroo this year!
i noticed you said chirp,i said the last time she is half bird😁
I dare you to analyze “jogo do contents” “like this” and “vibora “ from Tulipa Ruiz 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷its going crazy
Chris try one of the Marmozets song. Greate voice.
I also struggle with silent reflux. I have a whole section on it in my course Discover Your Voice! :) hope to see you there!
Thanks;))
Hi Chris
thanks for doing this video! Here are some Paramore and Hayley Williams songs/performances you might need to check out.
Let's start with some Paramore songs:
x Misery Business - this is a classic one (she does a bit of rapping in the verses), love the acoustic version they did for the Grammys 2013: ruclips.net/video/zN7o_fA9YrI/видео.html
x Ignorance is one of my favourite songs, ruclips.net/video/ibRjyq-SAkQ/видео.html )
Decode (which is known for the Twilight film, amazing belting 🙌🏻),
x Careful is also a killer one,
x There is also All I Wanted: which she said in old Paramore interviews that she would never sing it live, because it's a really difficult one to sing. but on the recent Paramore tour, she finally did it. There's a live recording from this year Bonnaroo Music Fest and I get chills everytime I listen to it. It's amazing what she can do with her vocals!
x Ain't It Fun is an amazing one - her live vocals at the Austin City Limits Music Fest are the bomb! I love her stage presence so much 🙌🏻🥲 just thinking of this song, makes me want to dance 😄
x Let The Flames Begin (from Riot!) and Part II (from the self titled album) - they usually perform those songs in this order. Go and watch the Reading Festival 2014, you won't regret it, Chris!
x Renegade and the intro is amazing from Rock am Ring 2013 live,
x Now - there she uses some of the same techniques, I would say staccato thingies, like the ones in the verses of Still Into You you recently covered. The bridge is amazing, give this live version a listen: ruclips.net/video/lWCPDS4vrMM/видео.html )
x Fast In My Car - such a banger (check out the iTunes Festival 2013, love the whining and the little bits she does with her voice. I love how expressive she is and how she's comfortable with what she does with her voice. LOVE IT!)
x My Heart (one of my favourites Paramore songs, the ex guitarist does some screaming in the outro)
x Hate To See Your Heart Break
x Hard Times - another banger. There's a live version I really enjoy listening to. Usually when they perform it live she loves to change the outro by singing Heart Of Glass by Blondie: ruclips.net/video/djhBeVYTEjw/видео.html )
x Rose Colored Boy - another banger. Seeing them live when After Laughter came out, was amazing. Here is another live version that I love: ruclips.net/video/NMcAgpP6xIA/видео.html she changed the outro again which I totally love and I catch myself singing the live outros whenever I listen to this song in my car.
x Forgiveness
x Told You So
x This Is Why (from their latest album This Is Why)
x The News
x Running Out Of Time - which is so much fun to sing.
x as well as C'est Comme Ça
x I love her vocal performance on 'Big Man, Little Dignity'
x Liar
x Thick Skull
now some songs from Hayley's solo stuff:
x Simmer
x Asystole (I did a short cover of it a couple years ago or so, where I tried to take some bits of how Hayley would sing it and put into my voice. I'm not sure if I pulled it off but here's the link to it: ruclips.net/video/gwPrPyrXx_g/видео.html )
x Crystal Clear
x Dead Horse
x Cinnamon
x Leave It Alone
x Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris
x Watch Me While I Bloom (this is a really good one to analyse, so much is happening just in the beginning from the first verse)
x The First Thing To Go
x Wait On
x Trigger
x Over Those Hills
x Find Me Here
x HYD (I love the soft approaches which are so different from her early Paramore stuff - All We Know Is Falling, Riot!, Brand New Eyes,..)
x Stay The Night - this one is not from her solo stuff. I like the acoustic version more than the studio version: ruclips.net/video/niBXg0MWhVo/видео.html
A couple covers Hayley did I really enjoy listening to:
x Don't Start Now (by Dua Lipa on BBC 1 Radio)
x Teardrop (Massive Attack)
x Passionfruit (by Drake; with Paramore on BBC Radio 1)
x In Between Days (by The Cure, Sirius XM Radio 2013)
x Maltida (by Alt J; BBC Live Lounge 2013)
x Fake Plastic Trees (by Radiohead, ruclips.net/video/8L43hwucmc4/видео.html
x Dreams (by The Cranberries; ruclips.net/video/J0SOnswyf54/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3msNbis3GRE/видео.html , ruclips.net/video/qJjCli5Uz14/видео.html in this clip you can hear starting from minute 01:00 how a fan in the audience joins her with some harmonies, which is so wholesome.
x You Ain't Woman Enough (by Loretta Lynn ruclips.net/video/eWGGj4duzIo/видео.html love the intentional voice cracks she does, ruclips.net/video/BvD9xFzdcV0/видео.html )
That's about it.
And there are some other artists I would like you to cover on this channel: Patti Smith, Tegan and Sara, Sam Fender, Jake Bugg, Alex Trimble (from Two Door Cinema Club), Alanis Morrissette, Orla Garland, Ani DiFranco (I love her singing style. Not A Pretty Girl is my favourite record of hers.), Rivers Cuomo, Ben Gibbard (from Death Cab for Cutie), Adam Lazzara (rom Taking Back Sunday), Elliott Smith, Paolo Nutini (love his new album, saw him live this year - brilliant!), Roger Daltrey (The Who), John Gourley (from Portugal The Man.), Damon Albarn (I'd love for you to analyse some of his early days with blur), Shannon Hoon (from Blind Melon).. I'd love to see some vocal analysis of Noel Gallagher.
Thank you. I love your channel, man.
I think you missed one.

Comment for da algorithm
Streak count: 255
You should analyze Dustin Kensrue of thrice
Hii, please do a vocal analysis to my favorite band too, named Avatar🃏 If you haven't heard of them yet:) I'm sure you'll like them too😉
Can you do Vic Fuentes/Pierce the Veil? This is their most popular song. His voice is so interesting.
Hi Chris, whats your opinion on if this performance is pitch corrected in post?
I hear the pitch correction for sure. I think it was on while she was singing live, otherwise, you may hear pitch doubling / flanging when the audience mics open up and we don't hear that. :)
lol, its "keeping me", not "escaping me".
Edit, i like ur energy tho brother! :)
one curious fact about hayley that makes everything even better, she passed through a throat surgery that took away a part of her vocal rage, which is crazy because shes just amazing
Do a Alicia keys video
