Been at it longer than that. They were kicked out of the big ten in 1905 for having too many players, scheduling an unsanctioned game, etc. they played as an independent in 1906. There have been numerous other infractions since.

Every college team has scouts that check out other teams. Not only that, but they watch film. Having teams signs only helps so much, you still need to execute. Calling this “cheating” is still a big stretch.

Head coaches are required to sign a statement to the NCAA stating that they have reported ALL NCAA violations. If he knew of the spying "which I don't seem how he couldn't" he would be in violation of NCAA rules. I believe nothing happens in these programs that the head coach doesn't have to approve of.

He almost certainly sold himself to be a sign stealing expert based on his "code breaking" traning in the military, and needed to live up to the hype he created about himself.
Senior staff would know bio info was captured when purchasing tix and would not have bought them using the name of someone on their staff. Complete amateur hour operation.

Like I said in other post regarding Michigan stealing signs....other teams do it. The only team that seems to be in the Big 10 that doesn't is MSU but we aren't alone in this. Maybe we got caught or OSU is just using its "resources " but this could open a can of worms that doesn't even pose a real threat as far as a game outcome advantage. Especially when we are beating teams by 23pts or more. It's just our time and now people are crying...just play football.

Are you kidding? 😂😂😂 There are records of this dude buying tickets to 8 OSU games alone... Then this comes out and mysteriously, no one goes to sit in the seats he purchased ... Then there is evidence of him sharing these signs with other teams who were playing their potential CFP opponents (why would they need to share these signs if everyone does it???) ... Then there is video of the dude on the sidelines with the DC changing the play calls, not based on tendencies or coverages, but based on the signs given by the sidelines of the opposing teams... Between the ticket receipts, the dude that came out on ESPN that says he was paid to record, the teams saying they were given the signs, and the video of the dude actually using the information to change plays and affect the game, I think there is ample evidence, my friend. Otherwise, UM would not have suspended the dude....
But continue to cover your eyes and ears and hope your wishful thinking gets them through the season. And make sure to take screenshots of their stats and records for the last couple years, because it's all going to be wiped clean.

So knowing that fact, what would be the dumbest of dumbest thing to do for the play callers on the sidelines? How about, USING THE SAME FCKING SIGNS EVERY WEEK! And so, THEY DONT!! These programs change their signs every week, every game, every year. With that being the case, what's the benefit of having their signs? If Michigan somehow, has tape on every single sign of every snap, through the past 2 years. I'd wager to say it might up their win chances by .025%. If that.
Teams change them often yes, but likely as a rotation. If you send henchmen out to get multiple game footage of signs, match those up with All 22 footage, then yes, you can absolutely gain a big advantage over your opponent. You aren't supposed to be able to have that much Intel on your opponents signs.

Everyone steals signs in College Football. Michigan definitely crossed a line sending people to the actual games and what not. But sign stealing is something thats been around for years lol. I feel like this entire thing is being exaggerated a bit.
Sending people to record future opponents sign is the heart of the issue. Sign stealing during the game is not what has infuriated other programs. What Michigan did was cheating - plain and simple. College Football Nerds - One of the most neutral and objective podcast on college football covered this in detail and please check it out if you think this is exaggeration. It’s not. It’s a big deal (based on the evidence that has come out so far)

It also doesn’t help that now, based on the new evidence, that the only team they couldn’t scout was TCU and lo behold, TCU really stung Michigan. btw, even in the way it was done, it is not illegal. you can not use electronic equpment in the on field game you are playing in. you can not scout personally. connors sent non staffmembers. but also a rule that was around but changed in 2013 limited payments to scouting and even pay ofit only to volleyball and something else but not football. there are a lot of technical loopholes
