What does Ryan Long mean when he says the British are 'behind' (presumably the Americans) on comedy? It's been bugging me. It implies that the Brits are just waiting to see what American comedians do and then going 'Oh we have to do that now!'. I just can't see it. Obviously there are many, many very funny American comedians, I'm not having a dig at them.
The reason comedians are popular is because of the conformity in society. People can't develop this freedom and invention of thought and speech in their daily lives.

It's pretty much Peter Kaye level comedy and not that much above Mrs Brown's boys, referencing Ozymandias does not elevate it beyond that I'm afraid.
