Zach shared this video. Andy thank you for participating and supporting Farm Rescue. Awesome tribute of supporting families do to devastation. I enjoyed watching this video, keep action and knowledge coming. Definitely look you up at the next one. You all stay safe!!
Agreed! Farmers always help other farmers. I do think that an independent organization helps with these situations. Often times, farmers help other farms with the expectation of getting a foot in the door for a new farming opportunity. That can make some of this stuff very complicated!
I spent a week in the Dakotas back in 2010 with Farm Rescue. My friend Dave (Milwaukee resident and me a Decatur, IL resident) We planted 600 acres of wheat in Northwestern South Dakota and then 550 acres of barley in Western North Dakota. Then two years ago I provided the chase/lead car for a Farm Rescue semi hauling a combine from Vandallia, IL to the Iowa border on I-80 on it's way to Farm Rescue headquarters. . It was an exciting trip. Due to some bad road info we had to unload the combine in the median of I-70, drive the combine and then the semi four mile to a motel lot, and reload the combine. It only took 3 hours!!!!!!
I was on this farm a few days before Zach, so I never got to see him. It looks like he stopped in Champaign, Illinois on his way down, which means that he most likely drove right passed our farm on the interstate!
First class as usual Andy. I'm sure it means the world to that family experiencing all the help and support! Kudos to Farm Rescue for their noble work!!!
Great job Andy For bringing us this terrible story. I also watched The Millennial farmer Video on this farm as well, That tornado that hit this farm I believe is the one that hit Sullivan Indiana and then traveled to Whiteland Indiana and touched down just a few miles from where I live. That was a scary night watching the emergency weather tracking that Toronto thinking it was coming towards my town of Franklin, In. Thoughts and prayers to that family hoping they get back on their feet real soon.
101 BPA across 122 acre field in central, IL. Also double crop with soybeans. Some neighbors had several fields go north of 130 with additional nitrogen and 3 passes of fungicide. They have been experimenting with some different combinations, trying to find an edge.
Those are some pretty good yields! I have a few neighbors that do the whole high-yielding wheat thing. It seems to work for them as well, but it is a lot of passes across the crop!
Hello Andy. My name is Davi, and i’am a big fan from Brazil, i really like your work. My dream is travel to United States and working with all this, but i need to finish my graduation and continue studying English 😅. Hugs from Brazil! 🇺🇸🤝🇧🇷
that was a good video, glad you all could help out that family in really bad need, that's what it's all about working together we need all the farms, thats what keeps America going
Im 40 miles north of them. Grow 15 inch wheat as well works well and beans can plant easier as well. Farm resuce helped a cousin of my family down there just north of the farm you were at they planted their crops this spring along with the others as well
I talked to this family about the 15" wheat. They said it allowed them to get rid of the grain drill/seeder, which reduced a lot of headaches. I guess there are some intricacies to planting such a high population with a planter, though.
@aTrippyFarmer yes much easier with deere or kinze. Place in Ohio makes plates for them. Case is ok though but if we had precision meters would be much better case has been hardly any help. We had one field do 97 this year. Best was 3 years ago 104 right in Clarksville. Becks seems to show a lower population is better for 15. With the case I've always Been lower. Big key is getting the right variety for 15s. Agrimax has 5 or 6 now I think. I think the beans plant bettet as well. We had half and half this year with air flow and 15s planted much better on 15s I hope to be able to plant this fall rtk and come back in spring and slide over 7.5 inches or close but always think angle is best. Worst thing dc beans is all the residue to plant through. Better the wheat worse it plantd
thank you for being so kind to those folks andy. devistation like that would leave anyone speechless . i am sure you will do everything in your ability to lighten their burden. the title had me believe that you got hit by the tornado. take care and god bless you
I can't pretend that I did anything other than watch most of the work. The farm itself recovered quite a bit on their own merit, and Farm Rescue helped them a bit on top of that!
You mentioned something that struck me Andy. You said you knew how it felt. I’m assuming your family experienced something like that? I’m older then you, but I remember what it was like in the late 70’s before the crunch that killed the small family farms. Everyone would help everyone. No rivalries, just neighbors helping neighbors. On occasion it still happens but not like it used to. We had a neighbor that lost his son several years ago during stripping season. A bunch of us got together and went and stripped every acer of cotton they had. The gin even quit taking cotton and only took his. No one complained and were happy to help how they could. So in my opinion, Farm Rescue is an amazing organization. Oh and by the way? You had the reel to close to the Draper and to fast, that is why it was bunching up.
We had our best wheat ever this year just south of you at 99 BPA farm average. Heard some numbers in the 120+ BPA in our area this year. You should try growing some and see what it would do!
You are an excellent guy 💯💯with your excellent work 👍👍 very very thanks for entertaining us, i appreciate you and the Farm rescue for helping farmers and how was your dad, I hope he is ok 😊😊. And your farm is ok.
Ours went 97, 87, 83 and 1 field went 65 deer had grazed it very hard all winter. Its bad when you can see deep crap in the sprayer tracks from fungicide. Its right next to my county park. Dc beans all look good here but could use a drink now again though.
What a great organization. We always help out our neighbors in times of need. Keep up the great efforts. Andy I really enjoy your videos and the details you put into them. I grew up on a family farm. We are out of it now and it’s hard to watch the small farms go by the wayside. Keep up the hard work of feeding our great nation. God Bless all.
Hi Andy, Great job taking time to help others.I have been curious for a long time about the combining. I see it in soybean harvest and I saw it on the wheat you were cutting. Why do you run the combine at an angle rather than straight with the rows?
Thank you for being apart of Farm Rescue! After seeing about this story in another video, I searched youtube for tornado in that area... I like to watch alot of weather videos too... this video shows semi's and trailers lifted upon that Kuhn equipment... incredible and I believe was only an F3 rating. ruclips.net/video/AzYMEladfR0/видео.html
I always wanted to go on the big wheat harvest but never did . I almost just took a couple of months off this year and went but I don't know if I'm up for the challenge at 46 . I really like going to the lake every weekend
The reel should be moved ahead a bit then it would feed a lot better. That’s why it’s kinda flipping g it over the reels and not going in the throat quickly
That is an amazing program. Makes me think that the big farmers with thousands of acres should use some military tactics. Spread out your assets. Don’t place all your equipment in one area or place but have them on different farms. I grew up on a small farm but we had equipment at our farm and my uncles so we shared. Just a thought. Great video as always. Keep it up
Did you get to meet thee actor that plays the millennial farmer, or did he just send out his stunt double? In reality thanks for showing people what it really means to be part of the farm community.
yea that mn channel has went down hill . Nothing but sponsors and commercials, plus he actually did a disgrace to this by just rushing it just to say he went then back home again.
Thank god for farm rescue. I do have to say that it’s kind of shity for John Deere to charge rent on equipment when someone goes through things like this. Farmers spend enough on equipment and I wails think ALL of the manufacturers would be willing to let these people use equipment to harvest and plant
Thanks for making the trip to serve, Andy, and thank you for sharing our story! You're welcome back anytime!
Did you miss Zach Johnson, Millennial Farmer? He came to the same farm. Farmers helping farmers in need.
Zach was there a few days after me.
Thanks to all the volunteers
Agreed!!!
I almost starting crying when you said a thousand families have been helped!!! HUGE BLESSINGS to FARM RESCUE!!!
Zach shared this video. Andy thank you for participating and supporting Farm Rescue. Awesome tribute of supporting families do to devastation. I enjoyed watching this video, keep action and knowledge coming. Definitely look you up at the next one. You all stay safe!!
WAIT! You and your wife are expecting another farmer! That is awesome congratulations to your family. 😊
Yes we have another little one coming in just another week or two. Life moves quick!
Great video. Farm rescue is something that has went on for a long time where neighbors have helped neighbors in time of need
Agreed! Farmers always help other farmers. I do think that an independent organization helps with these situations. Often times, farmers help other farms with the expectation of getting a foot in the door for a new farming opportunity. That can make some of this stuff very complicated!
Heroes may not wear capes. More often, they wear caps and overalls. Stay Gold y’all.
That couldn't be more true. Thanks!

That sounds like a fond memory. That’s a long drive from Vandalia to SD. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the awesome video, im not a farmer but watch alot of farming videos, i hope you had a good time and got a chance to talk with zach.
Some really great drone shots!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Howdy trippy thanks for helping out
My pleasure. Thanks!!!
Andy, you are a true mensch. God bless you and that unfortunate family.

Yes that is correct. It caused a lot of destruction!!!
I feel that the most awesome personnel in this great country, are farm and military! Thank you Andy for all that you do ❤
This is what makes American special
American farmers sure believe in lending a helping hand!
Great job mate 👍 thanks again for your help
Happy to help!
Enjoyed watching the video 😊
Glad you enjoyed!!!
You are a good MAN!!!!!!

Amazing the sheer power that Mother Nature has at it's beck and call any time it feels like it.
Good job helping those poor unfortunate people.

God Bless You, too!!!
Millennial farmer was there
Great organization. Thank you for sharing, Andy
Thanks for watching!

What a wonderful organization, with all the volunteers helping farmers in need. Thankfully we don't get tornadoes in England
thank you for being so kind to those folks andy. devistation like that would leave anyone speechless . i am sure you will do everything in your ability to lighten their burden. the title had me believe that you got hit by the tornado. take care and god bless you
I can't pretend that I did anything other than watch most of the work. The farm itself recovered quite a bit on their own merit, and Farm Rescue helped them a bit on top of that!
We had one in April 2021 in Oklahoma our farm will never be the same took 3 9000 sq ft barns in 90 seconds
It's crazy how little we are compared to Mother Nature. It sure is humbling!
It is not the work that you render, but the big hearth that you have in landing a helping hand in times of need. Much Mahalo sir and God bless
Good video. Glad that you were able to take the time to help. Hopefully, you'll never need anyone to return the gesture.
Job well done mate good to see you’re helping people in need cheers from Bundaberg Australia
Im proud of you 👏 this was an fantastic video!

Those darned deer!!!
Good on Farm Rescue and thanks for serving and sharing.

Dang you must of missed Millennial Farmer by a day or two. I saw his video and wondered if he would see you there.
I was there before him. He was there for the “celebration” that I mentioned towards the end!
@@aTrippyFarmer would of been sweet to see you both in a video! Great video anyway and a great cause!
Great organization and a great job. Thank you.
I agree. Thanks!
Andy on a custom harvest crew? 👀
Hi Andy, Great job taking time to help others.I have been curious for a long time about the combining. I see it in soybean harvest and I saw it on the wheat you were cutting. Why do you run the combine at an angle rather than straight with the rows?
Nice job Andy!
BRAVO!!
Great video Andy 👍
GJ Andy!
Great video! Did you happen to see Zack Johnson while you were there? (millennial farmer) I saw that he was there
I drove truck for the 2012 custom wheat/grain harvest. I turned 60 during the harvest.
I signed up for farm rescue, was hoping I would of gotten a call for this one. It’s only 2.5 hrs away.
We never quit during day light. We always filled the trucks after the elevators shut down.
God Bless #FarmRescue
We're you there when Zack Johnson was helping

That shot of everything stacked up is unreal! Thanks for sharing!
I always wanted to go on the big wheat harvest but never did . I almost just took a couple of months off this year and went but I don't know if I'm up for the challenge at 46 . I really like going to the lake every weekend
Very well done Andy!!! Was your sister Katie there with you?
Great group. You're a ways behind the mallenian farmer let's get with it.😂😂😂
Didn’t look like they were going to bale that straw, at least when I paid attention it looked like it was being chopped
The reel should be moved ahead a bit then it would feed a lot better. That’s why it’s kinda flipping g it over the reels and not going in the throat quickly
Hope they have insurance

Considering it would be a great tax write off
Makes me glad I moved away from central Illinois.
Didn't millennial farmer make a video about this 8 days ago
Dang you act like you might be from a small town.
So same footage of mn just shared. Jesus Christ save it for yourself
Karma will be on your side
How come you don’t show the millennial farmer
