    *COMMON QUESTIONS*
Q: What if I need to flip 1 or 3 edges only for the gray star?
A: Your megaminx is unsolvable, reassemble it as solved.
Q: What if I can match only 3 edges of the gray star?
A: Your megaminx is unsolvable, reassemble it as solved.
Q: What if only 1 gray corner isn't facing gray-up?
A: Your megaminx is unsolvable, reassemble it as solved or twist the corner if possible.
Q: The step where I get the gray corners to face up doesn't work.
A: Follow the steps carefully: finish the 4 moves without stopping after 3, and turn the bottom instead of the whole puzzle. If it still doesn't work, reassemble the cube as solved or twist the corners to fix the issue.
Q: The last step doesn't work?
A: Make sure you're alternating forward and backward when appropriate, and make sure the previous steps are completed. If it still doesn't work, reassemble your cube as solved.

i never learned step 7. i figured i can just swap the corners around since edges are already solved with sune so at the end i just spam a u perm until i have a bar, then put the bar to the front and just solve the 3 back corners with one more u perm (either R U R' U' L' U' L U2 R U' R' U' L' U L or the same thing but mirrored for left hand)

THANK YOU J PERM!!! My tls (which is a type of sped) teacher knew I loved rubix cubing (which I first learned how to do because of you and your beginner 3 by 3 tutorial), and she has a box of a ton of types of fun rubix “cubes” (some of them aren’t really cubes, such as the megaminx, but you know what I mean). I’ve tried figuring out how to solve them intuitively (using only my beginner cubing knowledge), and I’ve solved a lot of them all on my own (except for the 4 by 4, which I used one of your tutorials for)! I tried solving the megaminx intuitively, and I got all the way to the last layer (which I knew I needed a tutorial for, because I don’t have enough rubix cubing knowledge to do it on my own, and usually you can’t really solve the last layer of stuff intuitively). So I used this tutorial to solve the last layer, and now I’ve finally solved it! It’s the end of my school year, and I solved the megaminx on the day of my 8th-grade/middle-school graduation, while I’m in the car on the drive to school! So on my last day of school I get to bring the megaminx back to my teacher fully solved (if I didn’t solve it on my last day, then it probably would stay unsolved forever, because I don’t think that anyone else in my class is into rubix cubing like I am)! So thank you so much!!! I’m counting this as a gift from you to celebrate me finally getting through the nightmare that we call “middle school”! lol 😂
Seriously tho, thank you! You’re the reason that I was able to solve the Rubik’s cube for the first time, and the reason why I learned so much about it and that I got so into it! I’ve had so much fun solving all different types of rubix cubes, and learning about cubing (and also watching all the videos of you torturing yourself with rubix cube challenges hehehe😝)! When I’m cubing it can help me take my mind off of all the things going on in my life and all the problems and stress of living. It’s so fun and I hope that I never stop cubing! And I hope that you keep on making videos and helping more people like me discover a passion for the art that is rubix cubing!
Wow, I just realized how long that is… well… sorry for being annoying and talking so much… I’m just gonna shut up now lol 😂

Also, he uncomplicates things. When I first learned the 3x3 the thing that helped so much was wired talked about "right trigger" and left regarding placing the corner peices and how to slot in the middle peices that's so much easier to learn than an algorithm. Some algorithms are necessary some are better visualized. I had a booklet with step by step instructions that just felt unbearable. But then he says to treat it like f2l and suddenly I can solve the thing.

Nice tutorial! I've never actually watched a megaminx tutorial, so I've only ever done my own intuitive method haha. It's pretty similar, except I always misalign an edge in the s2l step, and then insert a pair and realign to make groups of 3. Then I do the last 5 pairs. With corners I do a simple 3 cycle to permute them, and then reorient them as my last step. Also, I always did F double sexy F' instead of F inverse sexy F' to orient all edges. That probably should have been obvious to me! I've recently dropped my times a lot just getting a modern magnetic/ridged/corning cutting capable megaminx. It's a lot more fun when it isn't slipping out of my hands mid solve haha.

J perm thank you so much
Over 5 years ago I bought my first megaminx, it was a very old model from shengshou which creaked when turned
Inside the box there was a tutorial sheet which taught you how to solve the cube, written on it were over 20 algorithms that solved the last layer eg orient edges/permutate edges and orient corners/ permutate corners... the longest algorithm which flipped four edges had over 30 moves
I was lazy at that time, I looked at the alg sheet and sighed, I tried a few solves, my best was a 14 minute. Then I threw the cube into my drawer.
    Today I watched your video
Your method was so intuitive and easy to follow. What’s even better is I know CFOP so F2L is easy for me
The algorithms are also the OLL algs which I’m already familiar with in 3x3
I could solve it much faster now, thanks to your tutorial
And you sparked my interest in megaminx again
    Thank you
    Thank you J perm
