- It's a new chapter for Bad Hikers: Brittany and Andy are officially residents of the Pacific Northwest! Come along as we make the nerve-wracking decision to buy an 100-year-old home, sight unseen, in Oregon. Then we kick things off with some mushroom foraging and reminisce about our first few months in our new home: summiting Mt. Hood, kayaking Lost Lake, and enjoying the change of the seasons.

We’re Brittany and Andy, and after thru-hiking the John Muir trail in summer 2021, we made the decision to uproot our lives (and the lives of our cats, Prius and Tumbleweed) in search of wide open spaces. Come along as we hike, climb, kayak, and forage our way through our new home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I currently live about an hour north of Portland. Born and raised in the Great and beautiful Pacific north west. I would like to welcome you to most wonderful little corner of the world. Have been studying herbalism and foraging in this region the last 7 years and would love to give you a tour and show you the diversity of edible and medicinal plants fungi and things we have out here.

Ohhhhh my gosh I'm so jealous. We want to move to Oregon so bad. But we are in Texas and have a small farm. Texas is incredibly affordable so trying to find land elsewhere for our farm critters is rough.

I wish I could move there. It’s been my dream since I was a kid. Money however is a huge obstacle
