One thing I couldn’t work into the video. I have a personal theory that she may have even been taking the bodies themselves, along with their valuables. Body Snatching was a lucrative trade since universities needed cadavers to use during dissection and for students to be able to practice on. With only certain corpses being given by the government, medical universities had to reach out to the black market to find suitable corpses. Again, just a personal theory.
I must say that Polish name for grave robber is much better because in Polish grave robbers are known as Hiena Cmentarna and that means Cementary Hyena
I don't see much of an difference, still good thing that they didn't go for something much easier like Rabuś Grobów (translation for grave robber, just a translation of both words)
Dark, irony, tragedy, and complexity, these makes darkest dungeon one of the best game, with each heroes have their own darkest secrets and a change to redeem themselves, to find good challenge, or just for fun. Next is hound master could not wait.
The Ancestor is screaming in confusion for your lack of subscriber. Its a shame really, since you put so much work on those simple but extremely well made videos. You have a perfect voice for narration too, and all the music/illustrations fits all of this perfectly.
What I find funny is that her and the antiquarian are pretty much just property appraisers here to tell the player how much their property is worth, but then they stumble upon the eldritch truth: earth an egg about to hatch, killing us all.
Honestly, I just found these while working out as something to watch while I get ready to play the game again. The production quality is great, you have a good voice, and very good stories + delivery. These deserve way more views and attention, good god, great job.
I do not think his wealth was a sham. He was indeed wealthy and powerful. She poisoned him, but he outsmarted her by not including a trophy wife into his inherentence. OR! She could've inherit only his indebted property, but all of his wealth was inhereted by other relatives. I'm sorry, but the idea that someone could fake beign wealthy, especially in the times of DD is just ridiculous.
My grandma who passed away about 6 years ago and lived for over 85 years insisted there were creatures known as grave robbers and I'd love to find out lore and things on this. We live in the very rural appalachian mountains and there's graveyards dotted all over, usually in the middle of forest's with no roads and most simply using rocks as tombstones as is the case with my great great grandmother and her grave. I've seen strange things around here, and heard of older people talk about strange things. I also cannot forget about the human and animal cross of a claw an older cousin of mine found in a cave around here. There's places on this earth we've not explored and thing's we have yet to discover. I would think it would be a better idea for us to stay on Earth and explore the unknown rather than Mars and space.
Thanks to DD2, we can now confirm that Audrey did indeed murder her abusive husband by poisoning his drink, perhaps repeatedly (which gets really concerning since she's named after Chris Bourassa's wife).
Considering Chris Bourassas favorite character is the Highwayman, who shares a camp skill with the Grave Robber (Gallows Humor, the only shared ability in the game), maybe the Grave Robber was his wifes idea to begin with and both have a macabre sense of humour.^^
This is one of the best ones you've made imo. The music and sound FX and detailed descriptions really made it engaging. As always, looking forward to the next one :)
I have a theory that it was the bounty hunter hired by her to kill her husband, as within bounty hunter's comic, he kills a man that looks identical to her husband. Meaning that she wouldn't suffer repercussions as people would assume that it was one of the people that the husband was in debt to.
So fun fact, those rings her husband wore are a Trinket in DD2, at the very least suggesting she kept those. I highly doubt she keeps them for any monetary value though. Maybe it's because they can be traced back to him and the hands they were pilfered from, maybe she has them just to spite him from beyond the grave, or perhaps she just thinks they're nice.
I finished the second and final Darkest Dungeons with only the Grave Robber left alive. Shadow Fade - Lunge. My foes kept missing or passing and I snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. My MVP
She was once a proud wealthy lady, with a lavish lifestyle, but her husband might have been abused her so that's why she murdered him so she will be free. But she inherited debt instead. Here's hoping Audrey will finally be happy one day
Most of them are references. If I'm not mistaken, only the Antiquarian, Musketeer, Houndmaster and Shieldbreaker don't display some references in their names. For example, Audrey, the name of the Grave Robber, is the same name of the creative director's wife.
Talkin Bear, you're in a lovecraftian game. Reality is messed up in this universe. But none of our heroes really seems evil. Just...in complete despair.

Really interesting theory, Plague Doctor would be quite happy about this.
perhaps she and the plague doctor meet before?

Me looking at the gameplay: Dammit! Aim for the stressors first!
Edit: Me seeing the Jester and no healer: Nevermind.

I would use the grave robber a lot more if she got a little extra loot from room fights from looting the bodies, plus it would be lore friendly
"They even had a cat"
Was his name Mr. AfroamericangentlemanMan.
i understood that reference
Cats in other literature: 😃
Cats in Cosmic horror: 😳

Arguably, it would be easier to fake wealth back then.

In dd2 her lore was fleshed out a lot, your theory was correct, she killed her husband by poisoning him because he was abusive to her.

Fair theory but dd2 should give an answer
DD2 show us that she was the one who send her husband to his coffin.
But she do it becouse of his brutal actions and abuse

Gosh, I LOVE the characters in this game! Plus the characters in Don't Starve, too.
It seems like everything that has to do with Klei is pure gold!
Wdym Klei? This game is made by Red Hook
@@sat2625 I know, but they got at least a bit of help and inspiration from Klei. I'm not trying to downplay the work of Red Hook; they're awesome too!

I don't know if it's believable for someone to be sentenced to death for just grave robbing

Is everyone in this universe evil?
She's more chaotic neutral. Our "heroes" are really just flawed characters.
