I uploaded this video in 1440p and youtube seems to take ages to process the HD version for this aaaa also please ignore the weird transition at 2:39, I decided to give Vegas Pro another chance and it decided to sh*t itself at the last minute
My old job had an Outrun 2 arcade machine, used to play it all the time at breaks. When this game came out I grabbed it right away on XBLA. One of the reason I still have my Xbox 360 hooked up.
This is crazy! I Love that the server are still online so many many years later. I loved playing the original, some time I have to try this Thank you for the great Video!
love obscure stuff like this. fascinating that the servers managed to still be up, wonder if they forgot to shut them down or something? lol Sumo also made Snake Pass which I feel deserves an honorable comment mention since it’s pretty cool. they’re a fun studio
Awwww, I still play the PC version from time to time: Watching the original release of the game running at 1080p on my PC tickles me a lot. Thanks for documenting this!
Fantastic video! Glad you made a video about this game. Totally one of the best arcade racing games ever. Still play it to this day. And Im so surprised you were able to play it online on the PS3! Thats so awesome. Really want to get it for my PS3 now too.
Oh, hey, I have that! Runs fine in Xenia, too! Not so lost if you can find an online copy! (or dump it from your Xbox like me) I had no clue it was such a shortly listed title! What a wonderful game! I'm definitely going to have to try the previous PSP and PC versions!
I had no idea this version existed, so bummed I never picked it up. Coast 2 Coast and 2006 does run on 360 with discs, but there’s some serious loading time issues on one of them iirc. Let’s hope they can do another remaster/port sometime in the future. Great games, no doubt about it.
it's also the intro of DNA Productions, an animation studio. the clip included a three eyed monkey, which scared me so bad as a kid, that I still get goosebumps every time I hear this melody.
'Sumo Digital' also did the "Sega Rally 3" port for Playstation 3 & Xbox 360! (Sega Rally Online Arcade) :) only official home port of sega rally 3, and sadly suffered the same fate of being delisted from the PSN store and XBLA. You can run it with teknoparrot now, apparently, and get 1080p and 60fps instead...i wasn't able to get it to run yet, and besides i prefer the native steering wheel support of the console version. But at the time, and all the way up until many years later in 2017, this was the only way to play a sega rally 3 home version at all.
These devs made Hotshot Racing?????? It's one of my favorite arcade racing games. Online is dead tho, but singleplayer is fun and achievement hunting is kinda fun too
I found the arcade version of this a while back, and it is a crazy fun experience with the seats that tilted back and forth. It's also an awesome PSP game to pick up and play for a few minutes. It's my goto 5 minute break game
I loved playing this on the 360 back in the day. It was the first game I played on a HD TV. I wish I grabbed it on Steam, as I don't have my 360 hooked up anymore and it is not in the backwards compatibility list on the newer Xboxes :(
@@f4micom lol apparently voice text changed "an" into "a man" 😂😂 sorry Bout that. No dought people will start finding you soon, watched a few of your videos, awesome content!
@@SirWestonUchiha no worries ahahahah thanks a lot really! I try to make the best content I can :) how did you find the channel btw? I'm really curious since I hope it will at some point be suggested by RUclips if the algorithm thinks I'm good enough aaa
@@f4micom I actually found it when looking for videos about the Game Boy camera. Lost games are fascinating, like it's counterintuitive. Digital media to me feels so permanent and pervasive to have it be unobtainable is weird to me. I know this game isn't technically lost media, but still it isn't something you can just get through a normal normal way. Endless you knew about the game you wouldn't be looking for jank download license sharing or pirating it from when it was accessable. Which is really interesting.
I spent so many hours playing outrun 2SP on my ps2 with the steering wheel...literally hours and hours...this and battle gear 3 were my favorite arcade racers of that gen to play with my driving force gt wheel. I wanted the arcade experience and something about the gameplay and controls of those games just felt so right. I got this outrun online arcade version on ps3 now so that i can have native steering wheel support again and the plus size that everything looks even crisper and sharper, and runs at 60fps!I also got the daytona port for ps3... Speaking of sega model 2 ports...the "sega rally championship" port for ps2 that came out as a bonus disc on the japanese version of sega rally 2 is really good aswell!I wish they would have ported that to the following gen aswell.
lol, why buy somebody else's license? The company isn't getting any money off of the sale so to them that would be no different than pirating it... Your choices are really either: A) Pirate it for free B) Pirate it, but give some random internet person money at the same time C) Just don't play the game because you were too late to snag a legit copy This is the fantastic world that digital-only games and always-online licensing has given us. It's almost like thy don't even want our money lol
One day I randomly decided to play this Outrun, I never played the games of this series besides the master system port, and I don't know why but the soundtrack is WAY BETTER than has any right to be, I would love to play this online
7:20 You can still play in any Outrun 2 port, will it be Xbox OG version or Coast 2 Coast for PC, because every version of game has LAN mode, so, with any LAN emulator for corresponding platform, you still can play Outrun 2 online, kinda
While i haven't resorted to dubious means to acquire this particular port, i own the Xbox original version of Outrun 2 along with a PS2 copy of Coast 2 Coast as well as a less than proper download of the PC port. One of my favorite games of all time and it's disheartening that it got delisted all those years ago but such is the life of using licensed cars, it still hurts not having any of the DLC for Forza 4 which is another fantastic game but the DLC being delisted due to car licenses urks my OCD to no end. While piracy has made it so many of these titles are preserved, its still obnoxious from a convenience stand point to not just have all these games and DLCs available forever, or just in the damn base game on release! Such is modern gaming I suppose... A game I was shocked to still see available was the PS3 port of Daytona USA which was delisted from Xbox awhile back. Ended up scooping it because a friend and i have been enjoying playing PS3 games online since there's no online service fee to play them. Only other close arcade gaming experience I'll get that still has functioning online surprisingly is Ridge Racer 7 which although a completely different experience, is still some good arcade driving goodness. They don't make games like these anymore. 😢
I still have the demo on X360 from back when i was a poor student.... Really regret not buying it. Luckily I still own the og Xbox releases so i can still play it that way.... And always picking Magical Sound Shower 🤘
I had this… but I don’t have my 360 it lives on any more. I had the original Xbox version as well but again not any more. I hope they can get the license back or reskin it with generic cars at some point.
This reminds me of, when the original version of Halo combat evolved not the remaster but a straight up port of the original Xbox version, emulated on 360 hardware was around, but I wonder does anyone know more about it, and if so would it be possible if I could download it on my Xbox 360, which I don't have yet, but do plan on buying soon.
I would love to play with you but i have a custom firmware, i wonder if it will be fine to log into PSN anyway?I don't suppose sony is watching PS3 very closely anyway nowadays, they are onto the PS5 gen nowadays...i don't want my MAC address banned but it would be great to play Sega Rally Online Arcade in multiplayer (i have a legit copy with a license, bought from the PSN store, i am more worried about the custom firmware being detected) I also have Outrun Online Arcade but that one i did pirate, don't know if it'd still work.
