Didn’t see it coming but this Melvin Farmer series has topped all the others imo. Shout out to Big Mizz, AC Moses, Lil Caesar, Big Rebo, Tight Eyes, OG Hawk, OG Frog, Lil Doc, Monster Kody, OG Cutes, Cat Caesar, OG Nugget and others. This one gon be hard to top
Monster and cutes still lead the league nothing touching cutes or monster but it's cool Mr Melvin is top 5 or 10 because a.c. interview and nugget shit was fire
Yeah Monsters series was in a different league, and to top it off he crossed that barrier which opened up a lot of interviews, and others to come. Also he spoke on everything he knew about, and was quick to say he didn't know something. He put on no airs, he just gave the story in a very entertaining way. All in all, KM videos bring heat.
Thats the first time I heard it put so simply about the BGF and Crip conflict... Not only does Mr Farmer give the chain of events for particular incidents, he frames the conversation with context of time periods, personal interactions/relationships...peace to all those lost in the struggle and conflict
@@MD-cd7em I've seen them all, but for me this is the first time it clicked, just like Cutes said alot of stuff, but I got different ears by the time I got to Mr Famer

@@torreyt948 yeah roccheads videos was hard to follow when they first came out. you had to watch them 10x and some other videos addionally to get the gist of it.
The reason these guys can recall and remember so much with so much detail is because people in the past lived more in the moment compared to now social media also get it by any means hustle culture has made people stray away from the present moment
Also people were less transient and you had true communities. Unlike today back then youth went to Grade school through high school together. Your social circles were intertwined.
I read Tookie's book, have followed his story for a long time, and listened to the testimony of many. I personally feel the same as Melvin; Tookie may have been involved with the first crime he was indicted for, but definitely not the following massacres. When I finished the book, it felt like he just accepted everything as circumstances for his old life; but still did everything possible to better himself until the end... AND give back to the community.
tookie is severly downplaying or no mentionong the violence and the grimey stuff etc. to make it a comfortable read for ordinary people and to not bring smut on his name. and for many other reasons
This was one of the most informative interviews. To keep it 💯, I now give all the credit to KMV list of questions, cuz I've seen all these dudes on other podcasts, and it didn't appeal to me. They were all over the place. KM questions keep the guests in checc; keeps them focused on KEY SUBJECTS THAT PEOPLE ALWAYS HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT. KM questions are the questions everybody else have. KM questions are THE PEACES TO THIS BIG MYSTERY PUZZLE. I've been around since 1977, start going to jail in the mid to late 1980's, also 1990's, stayed out of prison since 2002, kicced it with all my OG Grandee homies every day cuz I'm from Nutty Blocc, and I STILL didn't know all this stuff till I watched KMV.

Grow up and was raised in La than moved to the Bay for high school. From the information gathered on this platform and from what I was told on the streets, in the beginning the Nortes were riding with the Crips then the Nortes started riding with the bloods and the Bay car. I can totally see the different mentality of the generations that were in the pen between our Kings. Went from protecting our people and fighting the system to doing damage to our people but they were no different if they're hurting our people in the pen. Another level of divide-and-conquer that has always hindered us as a people, we kings are stronger together. Now look at how the surenos and nortes came together, if that ain't a sign for our Kings to get our stuff together and be one, I don't know what is!!
I´ve seen some of these Crips of that era, saying the BGF shoudn`t play the race car and didn´t wanted to follow orders or commands, while the administration, sureños and whites were going after the black folks no matter what their affiliation was, Melvin Farmer always gives good interviews.

Another great edition to the definitive oral history of LA/CPT/Watts gang history. A good bookend to this video is Skip’s video interview of Kumasi and Doc Holiday where they address the very issue Melvin Farmer discusses here, ie, BGF’s initial reaction to the earliest arrival of Crips in the CA prison system. Together, these two interviews share some consistencies in the narrative from both perspectives. Great interviews-it just goes to show that the best interviews are conducted by those whom have a full understanding of the social context of the histories narrated.
KM IS THE KING OF QUESTIONS, PERIOD! I never knew the power of questions, but watch all these dudes on other podcasts, and tell me if they answer all the questions you may have. Tell me if they got straight to the point within a matter of minutes, or did you have to sit through a whole hour waiting to hear something?
