Over half of the saltwater pools I service have a Rainbow in-line chlorinator installed. Only a handful of people seem to stick with saltwater setup and the maintenance involved. And close to 100% of them have no real understanding of how they really work. Education is the key!

Yes, it seems easy but there is some maintenance involved. Thanks for that!

I love the salwater system. Just had to do the research. Been easy and water is always clear. I will say I have not experienced a ph issue yet this season or last, glued on 7.6. Great video 👍

I am also a fan of salt pools. 👍

Thanks for the video. Really enjoy listening to your podcast. I have a question about shocking salt water pool. Do you still have to shock it to get rid of combined chlorine? And if yes, what type of shock you use?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes in most cases. Liquid chlorine is the best since the bi-product is salt.

Something doesn't make sense in your explanation. The symptoms to not equal the result or your conclusion. Sounds more like your salt cell clogged or partially clogged, or maybe the filter as well, creating a low flo scenario. But neither will cause the pump itself to reduce flo. I suspect as well that your pump or input pumping is leaking causing air to infiltrate the system. Remember the Salt cell is on the output side going to the pool. A pump sucking air is on the input side. Not Related.

does salt pool increase your calcium hardness? or it does not?

      Not to my knowledge.

salt is def the way to go... if only for the fact that you don't have to shower off the chlorine and your skin feels softer...Circupool core system is my choice...

      I prefer salt also. 👍

How is your Circupool core system holding up? I’m looking at getting one as well. Any FYI is most welcome.

@@1220mspenny it’s holding up great..super easy to install…I like the fact that it’s clear so you can see the water flowing thru…I am very pleased….I had very little (close to none) build up when I closed the pool..I’m glad I made the switch from my old chlorine feeder..I have an 18,000 gallon pool so I went with the core35…

There is STILL chlorine in your pool that the Salt Chlorine generator manufactures. So, your conclusion about NOT having to shower Chlorine off after your swim does not make sense. Chlorine is chlorine, no matter what generates it.

What’s the best way to keep calcium hardness in range? I don’t want it to go too
      High :(

Salt water pools with only a salt generator are totally ineffective. If you want to actually sanitize you also have to install a UV generator and Ozone generator. Aqua Magazine calls this a cocktail approach. The salt kills the grass and plants around the pool. These systems shorten pool heater lifespans as well as eating the pump seals. You will also be replacing your plaster more often.

      wrong

Wrong conclusion. What you are describing is a pH problem. With any pool system it is key to maintain your pH between 7.2-7.8. Don't blame the little bit of salt in your water for added corrosion. Check and maintain your pH often.
BTW> A properly salted pool runs at less than 1/2 the salinity of the human tear, and up to 10 times less than the salt in the Atlantic Ocean. So actually salt per unit water is comparatively very small. I've run Salt Water pools for 10 years now under contract to residential and commercial entities. NEVER has any damage or corrosion been attributed to a properly run Salt Water Chlorine generated pool system!
