This is my only hope to regain hearing from a sudden hear loss. I'd give them all my money to try a single shot of their molecules. Hope to get in for the next clinical trial in 2019.

I am right with you Marco! I really hope this comes thru and that you (and I) get to experience the joy of the miracle of hearing restoration!

Hi Marco, isn't the reason for SSHL due to nerve damage from swelling? (whether it's a viral inflammation or cardiovascular stress). Although another theory could be that restricted blood flow due to inflammation (viral or cardiovascular) "starves" the inner cochlear of proper fluid regulation and pressure, and that could cause stereocillia (hair cell) death? In that case, hopefully the dead cells and cochlear damage could be salvageable, otherwise it's back to the drawing board. In severe cases people who have bad loss caused by SSHL currently only have the option to get a cochlear implant. That's quite unideal for higher fidelity sound especially if you are a music lover.

@@AsadKhan-md9je hi Asad I'm not sure sorry. Hopefully once the results of this research are released they can use a broader set of patients to see if it helps. If your hearing loss is caused by ototoxic medications or chemotherapy, there's a good chance some hearing may be reatored if it's just hair cell damage. Like I said earlier before, we have to consider the nerve connections between the brain and the hair cells and whether they can be restored.

devaski which means if something else is damaged other than hair cells than there is no chance.

Hello i v e got minor hearing loss at 8000herz. But sever tinnitus. I know what you are saying. I M from Belgium and i ve already had contact with clinical trials. This for the use of fx322. But its only tested on people from USA. So we have to wait and suffer untill it comes out for people with tinnitus in Europe.

How long do you think it will take them to be able to offer this to the public taking under consideration that they got fast tracked by the FDA?

There are good prospects with the drug, if it gives very good results it will go to phase 3 where the sample will rise in number, since the drug does not carry serious side effects, it does not represent invasive therapy, it is possible that in less than 2 years, according to my opinion.

Is there any proof that as we age the proginator cells decrease in count ? Is there any trials planned for congenital hearing loss ? and Lastly, if there isn't any hair cells present does this mean no adjacent or existence of proginator cells nearby ? Thanks very much, great work, after 20 years of R&D this cure will be monumental to some of the children I work with as a Cochlear Implant scientist in Aus.
