great performance, not the most technical and definitely not orthodox, but that's great, it's a different style of music (obviously haters forget that there's more ways to express a solo other than pop or bebop, but who blames them, they lack the experience)
That guy tickling those keys I never knew there was such a saxophone called a sopranino sax it looks much more like a soprano saxophone but it sounds alto this is lit fr fr
i like all the bs comments about Anderson playing style on sopranino sax ...please post your presentations' show us how its done please, stand and deliver until then keep the hater aid until someone asks
Sopranino’s natural pitch is in Eb and needs a tighter embouchure than the soprano sax in B b coupled with the fact he normally plays alto sax or tenor sax and it shows !
didn't like the sax solo - but i love the sound of the church i should play with my band there also i like the old guy sitting there with head phones on
I'm quite surprised that Wes Anderson would play this or any song on the sopranino saxophone. I give him B+ on intonation. I give him a grade of C- on originality. I give him a C- on solo length. At the "end" of his solo he really was screeching in the upper register of that horn. You have to play a sopranino more like a clarinet in the way you handle the high register, or you get in very dangerous terroritory. He was all in the bad lands on this solo! He should stay more in the meat of the horn
I do compliment Wes' attempt at approaching his solo in an apparent "neologistical" manner. Great presentation although somewhat devoid of rhythmic compaction and cohesiveness.
Came for the soprinino but was glued to that snare pop this drummer gets. Thank you Quincy !!
That drummer killed it. Man I love jazz pulse.
Subparanon Quincy Davis, he’s a teacher as well, has a whole load of great videos on youtube!
Wow!.......Wes! That playing sopranino was "off the chain".......

Quincy Davis is one of my professors at the University of Manitoba :)
I love the musical party favor.
horns play melody at 5:07, sopranino solo starts at 5:36. Great sound on the sopranino.
This is one of the answers that audiences have left the jazz world!!
I think you mean one of the 'reasons'
Masterful musicianship, gentlemen. Glad to see it.

Very entertaining. Great playing by everyone.

It's smaller than a soprano.
Hypothesis: the highest notes on the soprano sax are already high enough.
Hypothesis: rejected!
Says who.. you? Wrong! Thanks for playing though; please exit stage left and don't forget to pick up your consolation prize at the door!
Video Tec is great!
The ways of Warm Daddy...

Coltrane was always a Christian. He was raised in the church and both of his grandfathers were ministers.

This really hurts listening to this. He’s really bad on the sopranino sax. He sucks on it.
Where the f*@! is this?! Is this at church?! This is way too filthy to be happening in a house of God - downright sinful!
The sopranino sax sounds terrible!
