  • The second race of the Sweet Lamb Baja Rnd 2. Due to mechanical issues in race 1 I had spent all lunch break making repairs to the bike. By the time I got down to the start I was last man out with a lot of time to make up!
    Unfortunately in the later part of the race I suffered a suspected flat front tyre which I didn't notice in time. During a fast corner the tyre came off the bead and the front wheel washed out in an instant. I was not recording at the time and only turned the camera on after the crash.
    Big thanks to the two riders that stopped to help me and the sweet lamb staff, medical crew, friends and family for helping get me off the track and recovering the bike.
    I've got a scaphoid fracture famous for taking a long time to heal so unfortunately i'm in this for the long run.... i'll be back though!

    It feels like a video game. No matter how many people you pass there’s always still more to pass. It’s almost like you’re the only one racing and everyone else is out for a Sunday ride.

    I think you've just cemented me getting another KTM Adv next year. Loved riding the 790 Adventure R there for the dealer launch and having my own 1090R which i should have never got rid of. Hopefully see you at the Baja next year!

    Did you work out why the tyre failed? What tyres and pressures were you running?

    • @tennispennis7579
      @tennispennis7579 Год назад

      I guess too low a pressure.......never had that happen when riding Enduro on a 250 stroker and was running 10-14 PSI. The weight of this bike is 2.5 times and its very front heavy so would imagine 22-24PSI might be about right . Racing is great until you stack it , hurt yourself and mangle your bike then you ask why do i do it .......why indeed ???

    Hi Ed. I'm watching this a year on and wondered how the scaphoid healed? Broke mine rock climbing in my 20's (63 now) it healed fine with a bit of mobility limitation. Got a 1250 GS, do a few trails and was also wondering about entering these events. (i would definately be one o the crawlers you fly passed🤣

      @BikerEddd  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey. It's more or less 100% healed now thankfully! Back at it once more after a difficult 3 months off a bike. Give it a go! Suitable for any level of rider 👌 just need the right attitude.
