    Been 11 years since I've graduated from there. I still have nightmares.

      I'm considering going there. How bad was it actually?

      @@darthtrooper9897 It's a tough school man. If you really want to be an engineer, then this place will make sure you graduate as one. They told me on my first day of class that the person sitting on my right and left wasn't going to see graduation day. They were right. The best advice is to work hard. A lot of high school graduates think advance AP classes and 4.0 math GPA blesses them as future engineers. It doesn't. And usually that mindset is the first to get weeded out. I had the lowest ACT/SAT scores for my incoming class yet graduated from here magna cum laude. Mines won't just teach you how to be an engineer. It'll teach you about yourself, what you can endure, what are your limits, and what you can achieve. That's why its graduates place high in industry after graduation. So, in closing; if you want a stereotypical college life- DON'T come here. But you want a good job placement and to be a cut above the average engineer- godspeed Darth Trooper. May the force be with you

    I have watched your videos and I applied to CSM and am wondering how the student life is there as a woman. I realize the student body is like 30% female, so I know its unlike most colleges ratio. My question for you is was it worth it going to school there, and did you get a great job after you graduated. Did you feel you had to always prove your worth to your male peers? Some advice would be much appreciated!

      Hello, I am not the content creator, however, I have been accepted to CSM and I have decided 100% this is the school for me. Student life will be difficult, graduates of this school joke about having PTSD after because of how difficult this school is and how much work you get, I heard it’s very hard to balance school work and life/family. This school also has an average of about $70k for a students first year after graduation which is very good. As for if it’s hard to “prove your worth to male classmates,” just throw that out the window. The SAT/ACT score needed to get into this school is outrageous, and if you got in, you’re clearly doing something right, just as everyone else there. There should be no comparing at all because everyone has had the exact same standards to being accepted, so no male can think they’re better when clearly you got accepted as well :)) hope this helps!!! This school from what I’ve heard is definitely not for the faint of heart, but maybe this is a school at your speed :)

      As a current female student at Mines, I gotta say I love it here. It's definitely hard, and I think one of the most important things is learning how to balance/plan your time. Personally, as a student I haven't really been hit too hard by the ratio of girls to guys, though it's definitely there. I think if you are worried about being surrounded by dudes, it isn't too bad, most of the people I see regularly are actually girls. I hope this helped, I love going to this school and though it can be super hard sometimes, it is what it is

      When I was at mines, the girls told me the odds of finding a guy were good, but the good were all odd

    Is there a way to live off-campus as a freshman?

    • @livinglavender6690
      @livinglavender6690  5 лет назад

      There is, but unfortunately it’s very specific. You have to live around 15 miles away from the school for a certain amount of years for them to consider it

    I got accepted into Colorado School of Mines, but I’m not sure if I want to go. Do you recommend it?
    Thanks for the help!
    My goal is to go into Biomedical and mechanical engineering so I don’t necessarily need to be too well rounded.

      W0lf 22 It’s a good school. I’m actually doing my graduate degree in biomedical engineering at Rutgers. I would not be here doing this without having had the experience I had at mines when I was studying Chemical and biochemical Engineering undergrad

    Hello! I am looking to attend this school, but I’m not sure if I’ll be accepted. I have a 3.7 unweighted GPA, and all of my courses were either IB or AP. That means that my weighted is 4.7. Is this good for Mines? Please respond, I’m stressing out!

    • @livinglavender6690
      @livinglavender6690  5 лет назад +2

      That seems pretty good! But it really does depend on your ACT/ SAT score as well. Also, many people think that they want to do engineering 100% but actually find out that they want to do something else. This school really limits you and doesn’t make you necessarily well rounded. I don’t recommend this school, but if you want to try I say go it! There’s no essay and rolling admissions so you don’t have to really worry about any extra things

      Can you elaborate more on why you don't recommend Mines? I'm not concerned with the well rounded aspect as I am a transfer student. I was accepted as an electrical engineering major and would like an inside perspective.

      It’s a tough school, and you will learn a lot. The issue is balancing life and school. It is a common challenge among students and while I was a student here.

    • @destinygoddu5637

      @@stephenmut8342 What I am hearing you say is that the level of difficulty requires a lot of time and attention? That is understandable. Luckily for me I am at a community college and was forced to learn that balance between work, school and life. I am used to weekends doing homework instead of going out with my friends. So I think I may be alright as long as the work is reasonable.

      Destiny Goddu I met many people who did the same thing you’re doing. I actually found that people who came from community colleges and did part time work matriculated as some of the finest students at this school because they knew how to manage their time.
