Man, Imagine if this was Michael Jackson who sang, even then the impersonator, Kipp I think is his name, did a really amazing job capturing that MJ vocal magic for this bit and every single time I hear this it just gives this me this overall powerful feeling from the scene due to the voice and the song that goes with it. Season 3 was the first season on DVD that I bought and to be honest, This was by far the best season of The Simpsons. I just cry in this episode not only with this song but also Lisa’s Birthday Song 🥺.

Thank goodness i have the ability to still watch this episode since i have a copy of the season 3 DVD that has this episode. As unusually dramatic as the episode is, it still has some of the most heartwarming moments in the entire show.
That was the great thing about early guest star episodes of the show. They didn't revolve the plot around the star but had them voice an original character and through the stars skill as a performer they made that character memorable. A good example of this is Danny Devito as Herb and Audrey Meadows as Beatrice.
