I wish they would make ratio an OFFICIAL game setting in MVC collection. Would make online gameplay WAYYY more fair for people that don’t just want to use Storm Magneto Sentinel

he just needs to ditch the 7 point system it’s way too restrictive. imo it should be 10 points, nice round number and gives WAY more flexibility for ranking characters

@@zengramthat’s one of the reasons why I didn’t play… it’s cool to see tiers dominate but how long lol? It’s been like 20 plus years… They cab have still have a tournament too ..I just think that there should also be tier tournaments as well
You dont play mvc2 for the roster you play it for the gameplay 😂
@@kcidd12 TNS runs ratio marvel 3 tournaments every so often they are pretty awesome to watch, maybe with the the collection we'll see TNS or some other TO host some ratio tournaments for marvel2
I wish this list was made with other people in the room like Yipes, so they can push back on some choices and make a more community decision.
yes making an executive decision for a community to push a new format should include the opinion of more than one player.

@@vvaIk Yet Justin plays every character an MVC2 is in a state that nothing new is being learned so Him an others watching can see a character an fully know their worth due to the game being older. Which means he can't be bias since he'd be called out easily.
I hope there will be “Point System Lobbies.” If not, ill make my own daily. Im happy for the changes that will be made for the game and beyond.
Def planning on in lobby's labeling it ratio. Going to be my preferred way to play most likely.
I wish this list was acknowledged by the dev team and become an actual mode in MVC Collection. I'm gonna try to make it work with a Gambit/Morrigan/Jin team. Hopefully the synergy is decent.
I can see this get modded in for the PC version, at some point, at least.
Morrigan/Gambit is a really good shell, I use it for my team too! (OR/Gambit/Morg)
for real, and the "balance" changes would just be adjusting the points distribution. really cool way to make "balance" changes without touching the game at all.
Heyyy, was hoping there was going to be a new ratio list for the new release.
Ratio is honestly where it's at, game is much more fun to play and watch.

The zero point, -1 point split is so tricky. Would anybody ever take Dan over Servebot, if it meant they got a 5 and 3 point character?
Not saying Dan's aa assist is good or anything, but he DOES have one. The -1 pointers don't really seem like they do much outside of supers, but Dan can fit on teams that absolutely need aa assists vs a -1 pointer, since if you still need an aa assist then you'd need to burn your 3 pointer/5 pointer on it

@@XyntriCoil that's true but i'm of the belief that somebody who is good as roll in mvc2 is more than capable of taking out everyone quicker with any other character in the game
Amingo is extraordinarily good for being 0 points. You probably have to build a team around him but any team with a 0-pointer that can carry some weight is incredibly scary. It's a bit like MVC3 ratio match tournaments with leilei.

He downplayed her assist SO MUCH on that tier list video and STILL she's that expensive. Killing me here J
I think the problem is that for a regular tier list, what you're really rating is how well a character can do against against Storm, Sentinel, Magneto, and Cable. In a ratio game however, certain characters that get invalidated by them get a chance to actually do stuff, which is why it doesn't exactly match the tier list.
@@RSFArocks yea exactly characters have differing amounts of potential when the selection is limited you ain't running into msp or storm,sentinel,magneto etc it really changes how much a character can do when they aren't constantly threatend by the gods of mvc2. Tron ain't doing anything to the gods but in a ratio format where you're not guaranteed to be running into those characters she's a very good choice to run which is the justification of putting her as expensive as he did. Because like it or not her assist is incredible on damage output and that can win games.

You should add the music in editing that way it doesn't cut when you edit down your sentences. it would sound alot smoother.
I can't believe the tier got expanded. Tier 0 and -1 are new to that on how Justin formulates it. But this is strictly a 3-man team of 7 point tiers just to remind.

Yes, a new JWong ratio list! I think this is one of the most innovative methods to play the game and make it fresh. Pipe dream is that this mode is included in the Capcom collection, with rotating tiers, like a seasonal format. I think it would help with replayability

Thank you JW. It would be a nice addition to include the option of characters without their power assist. Tron w/o projectile assist. Psylocke and Captain Commando w/o anti-air assist. Etc.

I'm kinda worried about these storm and magneto mixups and near-unblockable with bone claw's low assist AND a decent assist to choose from in the 2 point tier . Let's hope no ridiculous conversions are labbed lol
The greatest thing about MVC2 is that there are so many characters with a variety of attributes. It offers a near infinite amount of possibilities, which makes the game awesome and also prevents you from getting tired of the same old game meta.

Glad to see my team from the XBL version is 7 points lol. I played Ken/Sakura/Jin and made it work somehow, mainly due to the Jin assist and dark Sakura

Dude, -1 tier is crazy - i love it. Roll and Servbot are now maybe top tier ratio characters to put on a team for the synergies they enable by giving an extra point.
how do they randomly decide to fix the one thing that makes juggernaut viable but nothing else? so bizarre. nothing should've been changed.
@@terence7009 Exactly!! I agree 100% i was saying the same thing. They should have ported the game untouched...from a casual & competitive standpoint, player's have grown accustomed to the jank stuff, inifinites, glitches ect...for 20 plus year's to change or modify it in any way is absurd. Also i believe there is a certain wholesomeness & authenticity of all the broken stuff in MVC2 and one the reason's the game became so popular...and lastly to omit the juggy glitch and leave certain broken stuff in, is preposterous

I respect the 3 point Jin! But it hurts.
The one issue I have with the ratio system is that it ranks the characters the same no matter which assist you pick. I think you get way more diverse team choices if you drop points for worse assists. Yes, I realize this is a lot of work.
i hear you, tron is a 2-3 as long as you don't pick proj. assist. but characters like jin...no one is gonna pick launcher lol no matter how badly they wanna play the character.
There is a thing they could do, instead of ranking every single character and assist combination. they rank only every combination of ratio 5, 1, 0 and -1. This way you would have enough charaters that are 0 and below, to allow you to pick a 6 point sentinel assist and still have enough variety of chars to pick from. Or pick 5 point sentinel assist char and do the normal team you do right now.
Can we have this but for mvc1 and cvs1/2? Maybe not ratio in the case of mvc1 but im talking more about tier lists. Ngl im so happy to see the resurgence of these games and the content is gonna come with the release of these collections aaaaaa im so hyped!!
I'd especially love to have a ratio list and mod for CvS2. *cough* Sagat *cough* A-Groove Sakura, Blanka, Dictator, etc
Would you consider making a tier list ranking characters solely on their assist?
Going in, I was fascinated about how these ratio tier lists work to make the game more interesting and a little more balanced. Brings more variety, I dig that.
I was hoping to go for a team idea of Roll in the frontlines with Doom and Ruby basically carrying with their assists or what not. But yeah, that’s 1 point too much.
Maybe I’ll replace Ruby with Sonson or something.

I've been playing iceman doom forever, so I kinda like the last list better 😂. This was a good call though, that chip damage was silly. Was like eating Pringles from a closed can
Talking about raito, one thing justin could do (I dont know if he is good at the game) is to rebalance the capcom vs snk 1 game. Min ratio is 1 and max possible ratio is 4, then someone would make a mod of the game to fit those new rules.

The game really needs an option to change the health of characters. You could give Sentinel less health, and Bone Wolverine more for instance.

Dude. My low tier team was Ruby Heart, Thanos, Charlie. I came up w a new one though: Omega Red, Thanos, Rogue.
The -1 point characters really throw a wrench in the works. Should have some 6 point characters if you want to have -1 characters.
With this list I’ll be playing Sentinel/Cable + Guile/Iceman for maximum spam

Justin you should use your reach to get capcom to patch this into the game further down the road. It probably wouldn't even take much work for capcom to implement this mode into the game.

the fact that you can team Sent , Storm , IM with the likes of Guile, Iceman, Megaman is too much. it'll force everyone to construct (God tier/Mid tier/ Roll or Serv).
Just eliminate the Gods. Way more fun, the whole point is people would be tired of facing Sent, Storm etc but that's all theyd get with a system like this.
Eliminating them defeats the purpose of the ratios. You're right though its too strong. They need to be made 6 point characters and that would also allow Doom to remain at 5 points where he should be. Someone wants to pick a god tier they need to pay heavily.
Or you could leave this point chart (which i find a bit more interesting than the last) and have "Ratio: No Gods" lobbies.
I remember when i used to be able to play my actual team in these (Ruby Heart, Gambit, Sakura) and now that team is 9 points ;-;

Cammy needs an explanation; you just can't sneak her in like that. Shes a mid-tier that's a 4-pointer? Colossus a 3-pointer? Colossus has #2 Armor and does serious damage and he can power up.
Im a little surprised rogue is 3 when Cammy is a 4

I really like Ken tatsu assist and like Gambit on point... but dunno who should be the second character after gambit... any ideas?
If you plan to use ken only for the assist, then u need to look to the 2 point options and choose who you would like to play as a point character Bison is a nice pick. Or the 1 point Morrigan or Venom, because they can use the gambit and the Ken assist very well.

It would be a lot to keep track of, but I want to see an assist based ratio tier list. Dan could be a zero tier without his AA, CapCom would also drop without AA etc...
love you Justin but at this point you are really forcing the 7 point system. i mean do we really need to go into the negatives? imo just make it 10, nice round number, gives a lot more flexibility. i’ve seen this same comment i am going to say for years, but sentinel should never be the same amount of points as iron man and cable, and now especially doctor doom. no one is picking doom now man. why would you when you can have sentinel? but you HAVE TO make them the same point because you are restricted to only 5. bump it to where we get 10 points we can allocate and go from there. sentinel can be 8, storm magneto and iron man are 7, doom and cable are 6, so on. just an idea. i think the 7 point system is really showing its flaws now, this is imo worse than the 2022 list

What if the tiers where made based on the 3 assists each character has? A lot of characters are pretty weak without their anti-air assist for exemple, so they could be allowed in low tier tournaments
Could be some 6 point characters because why pick Doom for the assist when you could just pick Sentinel instead?
How does same character work with this? If I pick Iron Man, can I pick two Venoms? I mean, assuming you can pick multiple of one character in the collection, cause it seems the arcade version didn't have that(?).
