Or just buy a daily driver and a factory fast car for the track. Heavily modifying a car, and keeping it running, is a pain in the ass and a head ache. And keep in mind that racing is also expensive so when you go to add that to the running costs of the heavily modified car.

So Sorted is an americanized motoRING from Japan, they've been doing this for almost 30 years now. They also upload their videos onto RUclips these days.
It just seems like the gen V ACR is the best choice. Its modern enough to have all the comforts and luxuries but yet analog enough to give you pure driver's sensation and satisfaction. Its not boring like R35s for example.
That s30 240z is by Street Banditos :D The body is mostly carbon fiber made in house. They're my hometown heros and I would've loved to see them compete. Good job regardless on the show
Hot Rod Magazine (iirc) did a story on why you should race on a track, and why you shouldn't street race. I think they had three cars for this. None of them survived the day, one car smashed into the wall, which I believe they made the finale. The driver was ultimately ok, but the takeaway was 'thank god we're at a track and there's an ambulance and EMTs right here, on the street this could have been a tragedy'.
You should get a Corvette or AMG GT-R from Tikt here in Germany if possible for future episodes. They build crazy track weapons with good reliability. They have a C6 ZR1 that beat a 918 Spyder (same driver) around Hockenheim and that C6 lasts for years now. I think they would do pretty good at sorted.
Have you guys thought about podcasting? These guys seem to really good story tellers. With your already existing platform I believe you could fill the void of basically 0 car podcasts
I do 10-15 track days pr year, and the last thing I'd ever start upgrading is the engine... Brakes, tires, cooling, oil supply etc is the name of the game!
Agreed - plus it's fun being faster than people with 3x the power. 😁 Still, a few of these cars have the whole package. Let's see how they stack up on the road course.
I let parts break before i swap them. Suspension worn out? Buy coilover, bushings torn. Change them to powerflex poly bushings. Turbo starts leaking (mostly because i’m running the turbo to hard) well change to bigger one.
I’ve been there with my old S13. I saved up for years to build it up. It only had 380whp, but it broke all the time. I stayed up till 3am working on it all the time. I dumped a bunch of money into it all the time. And they closed our only track here in Hawaii. I got tired of dumping money into it And sold it for nothing compared to what I had into it. Now, fifteen years later. I really wish I still had that car lol.
I agree on the whole can’t watch stuff like this on Netflix, it’s just not the same. I love VinWiki, Speedhunters, Hoovies, Tavarish, and more it’s just more raw and realistic.
Here’s your answer to the age old “wHy bUy a SupEr cAr wHen U caN JusT mOd.. ?” trope. You have to be 110% dedicated to getting those numbers out of something not made to do so. Not like all super cars are ultra reliable but they’re definitely far more live-able most of the time.
What is even worse than getting tired of it breaking all the time? When you finally figure it out and it actually works, but then you don't know what to do with it.
No, its when you calculate how much you've spent on the car itself and realize you could have bought a house as a renovation project and flipped it and made profit and your wife would have been happy. Having cars as a hobby, generally guarantees that you're throwing money away unless you're on the high levels of collecting low-production/special edition cars and hoping they double in value in 20 years
Let's remember the original project car shootout and how Tommy's GT-R got wrecked not long before the shoot, and instead of dipping, he pulled some sheet metal, cut some stuff up, squeezed bigger tires on it and still showed up
Before i watch this im gonna comment this. I got rid of a stage 3 underground racing tuned twin turbo 2006 lambo gallardo SE after having 1851WHP it just wasnt fun anymore. I mean yeah, the factors of adrenaline rushes were fun, and the fact i never got tickets, because cops simply wanted pictures with the car instead was cool and all... BUT the fact speed limits around town were 60 and sometimes as high as 85mph just wasnt fun anymore cause u barely tap the gas pedal and looky there! You’re speeding already! The car however placed 4th out of 6 places in the worlds fastest gallardo half mile event. Making the half mile to 206.7mph which is just insane. When the car was stock i averaged 9-13mpg but after tuning it, there was no point in casually driving it. The 2008 Audi R8 drove so much smoother than the 2006 gallardo. Was odd. Considering it was basically the same vehicle.

What I'm thinking when anyone tells me "yeah i'm shootin for 600 to the wheels" when the car made 250 to start with.....i'm expecting to see a broken car shortly
The shot at 9:37 is where i live. Its the Lookout Point on Highway 74 sitting above palm Desert/Indian wells(Palm Springs area).
Cool story 😐
@@derrobur8551 oh... We have a internet badass here. Drove a Kia right up to the comments and left his cheap ass mark. Pat yourself on the back chump..lol
@@InspireCreativity2023 sorry that i hurt your emotions
@@derrobur8551 i dont know what those are. Good try though.
@@InspireCreativity2023 Cool story 😐
Its kinda like driving around in my rx7. It's always a gamble about something breaking every outing. All hail the rotary!
Mr. Spaghetti's sauces up VINwiki today. Meatballs for all.
Kind of sad, we dont have autotempest in EU, but we get to see all the videos :)
I love the show.. I'm the guy with a 700hp. Mustang GTPP supercharged but the only way the car works is with wide 305 sticky NT01.. my trans needs built now but after that I'm for sure gonna enter it and after its balanced to my standards it's a great show!!!!
Sports Compact Car did the bring your tuned car challenge.
Car and Driver, road and track and motor trend all have done a tuner shop challenge.
The one I remember the most was all the modded 4banger cars for car and drivers tuner challenge got their ass handed by a stock C5 Z06.
Also the 1st SCC tuner challenge had a Yellow Ferrari 360 Modena winning, the owner of the car was the owner of AXIS rims.
This dude talks like a character in a Quentin Tarantino movie lol
So Sorted is an americanized motoRING from Japan, they've been doing this for almost 30 years now. They also upload their videos onto RUclips these days.
What car would you build for Sorted?
That Viper is pretty sweet. Cant wait to see what the west coast has!
A viper for sure
My civic
M4 GTS!
It just seems like the gen V ACR is the best choice. Its modern enough to have all the comforts and luxuries but yet analog enough to give you pure driver's sensation and satisfaction. Its not boring like R35s for example.
Mr spaghetti moves his meatballs to a different oven
People don’t understand how much abuse cars take on a track. Highways pulls won’t show your car’s weaknesses, Track > highway
That s30 240z is by Street Banditos :D The body is mostly carbon fiber made in house. They're my hometown heros and I would've loved to see them compete. Good job regardless on the show
From the first monument 8 to 4 cars I knew this would be gold
Rat is a awesome dude! He worked on my Volvo exhaust and a boost leak a few years ago. Nice and honest guy. 👍
Bought a car , just yesterday, found on AutoTempest. It's a good tool.
I think I saw the Toyota Altezza around Buffalo/williamsville area, the story makes it so much cooler now ✌🏽 respect to that guy!
I've seen it in Northeast PA... Jesus that thing hauls ass
It's the same in the 4x4 World... You can never achieve what you intend to without spending a lot of money... Even so there is no warranty
You need to get more ls based cars. Shoot you could easily find fast cars that work all through the south
none of my cars are anywhere near 1000 hp and I cant even make it to my local cars and coffee, the struggle is real
11:16 Truer words have never been spoken.
I let parts break before i swap them. Suspension worn out? Buy coilover, bushings torn. Change them to powerflex poly bushings. Turbo starts leaking (mostly because i’m running the turbo to hard) well change to bigger one.
So cool to be featured here!!
You got one of my favorite meat balls on RUclips: Mr.Spaghetti . I love Robs flair and story telling. Keep up the good work Vinwiki !
I have been here since Ed wanted to show his VinWiki videos on Rob's channel
Should have had @JCStomper come! 911 WHP VW R32. people would never expect a car like this on the show and its pretty damn fast!
Im sad to see that Industri garage failed to make it, i been watching that build for loooong time, its freaking insane!
I’m always up for a Rob story!👍
Having cars as a hobby, generally guarantees that you're throwing money away unless you're on the high levels of collecting low-production/special edition cars and hoping they double in value in 20 years
I remember in the late 90s lingenfelter put a 427 in a gmc sonoma. It decimated everything...with 700 horsepower
"here's what no one tells you about driving 1,000 horsepower cars....it's fun"
Let's remember the original project car shootout and how Tommy's GT-R got wrecked not long before the shoot, and instead of dipping, he pulled some sheet metal, cut some stuff up, squeezed bigger tires on it and still showed up
I was window shopping in AutoTempest while listening to this
Rob is the best car RUclipsr
By the way. I made profit on the car somehow. Bought for 75k usd. Sold for 185,995
I love the 1st Gen Lexus IS/altezza gauge cluster... It's the coolest one ever imo 😛 3:30
