When I first heard this, I was amazed. Lyrics to the point and brutally honest. These guys are the real thing. Sammy’s lyrics are incredible and Chad Smith sounds like he’s going brake his snare; put animal.
When this song started I found it completely unbelievable. Seeing rockstars playing a song with these lyrics. By half way, I believed it and could feel that each of the band members had been there and it was real. BEAUTIFUL job guys. That's what music is about!!
It's 2020, and this song is still powerful, meaningful and was ahead of its time!...just f*cking amazing. An RN in Mental Health and see and deal with this everyday now...sad. Hoping for a "miracle" that this "Supergroup" might record again... someday.
@robehifi why do you think this song brings people like you down. because it's hard rock? can't Hagar and Chickenfoot talk about something that they consider worth talking about?
@Krishiiieee Maybe you're right and we did not understand the comment... we just pointed out that the band and Sammy who wrote the lyrics due believe in what they are expressing in this song. The fact they are successful rock musicians doesn't make them blind when it comes to know what hard times are about.
Sammy has a reputation for writing songs about difficult subjects that need to be talked about. Look at "Who has the Right" about violence as another example.
Yes Jeremy I was very serious. If you don't know you ask. I know alot of musicians by name, but didn't know his face. Actually heard of his name before. I see you're one of those trolls who make negative comments. That must really suck.
Conservative: to keep, to hold, to keep to ones self, to stay the same. Liberal: to give, to share, to help, to be transparent, to embrace change for the better.
I've heard this song twice while at the gym. Easily picked out Hagar's voice. Didn't know Mark Anthony was on bass. He's one of the best. Isn't that the drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers? And who is the guitar player? He is just stupid on the solo. Great song with a great message.
@mitchwheresmybunny Along with teaching some of the top rock guitar players of the '80s and '90s, Joe Satriani is one of the most technically accomplished and widely respected guitarists to emerge in recent times. Born on July 15, 1956, in Westbury, NY, and raised in the nearby town of Carle Place, Satriani -- inspired by guitar legend Jimi Hendrix -- picked up the picked up the guitar at the age of 14. Quickly learning the instrument, Satriani began teaching guitar to others
Check out a construction site sometime and see how many people there can actually speak English, other than the foremen. Also, don't bother asking for any social security numbers...If you can find any hospital auxiliary staff who were born and bred in the US I will give you a medal, same with hotel service staff.. any menial work or jobs where the payments can be carried 'off the books' is going to involve 90 percent immigrant workers.
Actually Sammy didn't write the song. The words were taken from actual letters sent to him. Hagar is quite known for giving away a load of his money. They should give all royalties from this song to the people who wrote the letters.
After 5 months of searching, I'm finally back on the work force. However, I have to continue searching because I'm getting half the salary of my last job. This song is getting me through these hard times. People that criticize this song because of the simple structure just aren't getting it. This song is a blatant complaint. Check out the Chickenfoot III podcast #7 then you might understand
Yes, that's Michael Anthony on bass. But I must say "Flea" from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is the greatest bass player of all time!! Yes, that is Chad Smith, the drummer from the Peppers.
I LIKE IT WHAT SAMMY SAYS IN THIS SONG !! IT`S A WOLDWIDE PROBLEM. I think in 10 years we have a big old pensioner revolution, they don´t have enaugh money for their life ... That´s a huge worst scenery,
@greekfreak1980 No not really mate, here in Australia the unemployment rate is 5%, compared to the 12% in the US...Our rate is the lowest it has been since I can remember....I think I know who really deserves to protest and it surely aint where I live!!
Not everyone standing on the corner is an alcoholic, junkie, or lazy. Why dont you ask one sometime. Everyone has a story. Maybe you can help someone. Maybe they would help you?
hey,i thought you were joking. I really didn't mean it in a negative way. Honestly, i don't recognize LOTS of musicians. i recognized him by his playing.
Ii need a job to brothers been laidoff sense 2009 lost everthing wife left me and homeless live in were I csn lay my head most of the time. In truck mostlty thanks I need your help
I wish all comments would be disabled on all youtube videos. all people do is bitch and complain at each others comments.. just fuckin' listen to the music and enjoy it. if you don't move on to another song. fuck....it's that simple.
@WayMoreGuitar... When will you realize that the president can only do three things: Sign a bill, veto a bill, and call a police action on another country/government. Congress does does the rest. Blame congress.
Who's responsible for the immigration? I agree with you but because corporate America wants to pay as little as possible for labor they will turn a blind eye to where their workers come from, as long as they are happy with minimum wage and no union protection.
Ever notice how people, on average, are just a little bit nicer to each other after a "tragedy" involving a lot of people? Yes it's horrible when a tornado rips through and destroys your home and kills people close to you but for those of us not affected it leaves a world with slightly less people. The real solution to your "lack of work" issue is a few more tornadoes. Or maybe stop relying on the system to tell you what to do and just find a creative way to make money on your own.
Not exploitation, just raising awareness to the homeless problem in America. These letters were sent to Sammy Hagar himself and he has given away loads of his money to fans of his who have wrote to him.
If you think illegal immigrants are making minimum age then you are far too ignorant to be discussing the issue. What's so wrong about companies hiring people that come from another country? Are you aware that the "lack of jobs" you are seeing (although I am seeing plenty of help wanted signs in my area, plenty of work available from the looks of it) would be a sign of overpopulation rather than immigration? Yes immigration is a factor but so is reckless breeding and a "safety" obsessed country
When I first heard this, I was amazed. Lyrics to the point and brutally honest. These guys are the real thing. Sammy’s lyrics are incredible and Chad Smith sounds like he’s going brake his snare; put animal.
Nobody should be without a home...NOBODY😢

I listened to this because of the members, raise hell boys your right on
Frank Bushman this song isn't about him, it's about other people, he's not talking about him needing a job.
Conservative: to keep, to hold, to keep to ones self, to stay the same. Liberal: to give, to share, to help, to be transparent, to embrace change for the better.

@pflo99 I've bought both this and the new VH. It is possible to like both.
@TheINFJGuy wow.. you must be some expert music critic
Fuck yes.
The main riff of this song reminds me a lot of "Money For Nothin" from Dire Straits---good tune tho.
it's slang for the peace sign
Actually Sammy didn't write the song. The words were taken from actual letters sent to him. Hagar is quite known for giving away a load of his money. They should give all royalties from this song to the people who wrote the letters.

@WayMoreGuitar... When will you realize that the president can only do three things: Sign a bill, veto a bill, and call a police action on another country/government. Congress does does the rest. Blame congress.
@robehifi ironically Sammy Hagar's a conservative
