She is like a robot android who copies other people's movements. No originality and no desire to innovate. Yes you can innovate and improve modeling. Karlie Kloss with her tiger walk that she learned from being a ballerina, and Linda E. perfected the pixie look that doesnt look good on most women/people.
Looking at the way influencers and certain models are paid nowadays for doing WAY less, these girls were actually extremely underpaid. This era of supermodels was like no other and it will never be replicated.
They deserved more money than what they got. They were very, very special models. They did the job better than any model ever will.Even my father knew their names. And he knew absolutely nothing about fashion or labels. They became so popular and so demanding all over in the world that they helped many, many companies to be where they are today. And they put fashion on the Map that It became much more important than Hollywood at the time. The clothes became old. Those supermodels became fashion history.Bravo!!!
@@destinycamel9396 I KNOW! The audacity of Calvin Klein in saying that people are paying for overpriced clothing because of the model fees... talking about hypocrisy
The beginning of the end. This is when the allure this models created among the fashion brands began to disintegrate. There is no magic in fashion anymore. There are no important Supermodels with the exception of those from the 90's.
Well like athletes they know they only have so many years to make their money and sports industries would be nothing without the players either so you have to pay them accordingly if you want them on your team.
It will never work. Great models help to sell a brand. Every fashion show that did not put at least one famous face in it did not have the recognition and the press coverage they could deserve. Each and every single one of this girls have their own and unique style and quality and obviously a fair price to pay. and only pays who can afford.
Ah so now that you done sold the Versace and all that NOW you can have anymore you want. Grant it that may be the case , they need to remember that those 10 were making y'all PAY them for advertisement, y'all wanted those girls face, body and asthetics because you wanted to sell your products through these girls now that y'all MADE IT you don't need the "10" anymore. Just throw them away because "they're old". If it wasn't for them 10 nobody would know them, their names would be sitting on tag in rich white woman's closet or her rich white man cufflinks.
EVERYTHING is more money today. But these jokes of models, YES, jokes; making millions? It “appears” their names are making the green; not them as a human being on the runway.
Having lived through the 1990s, I can tell you that these women were very overpaid compared to the average income of people in the country. And when Christie Turlington, I believe it was her although it might’ve been Linda Evangelista, made a snippy comment to a reporter that She didn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000, it really pissed off the public. There was an instant backlash. Her handlers and PR people try to apologize and explain it away but the model crowd never really recovered. It wasn’t that long afterwards that this whole supermodel idea disappeared. And a lot of designers were happy to see it go because they were tired of the models being more important than their clothes, and paying the high fees.
Yes, it was Linda Evangelista who said in an interview that they don't get out of bed for less than $10, 000 a day in - I believe - an interview for Vogue magazine.
these legends were so underpaid now Kendall is the highest paid model talk about a joke
🙌🏼

Urgh RIP iconic legend
Beautiful era
Good for Christy Turlington to say it like it is. Klein and Fern? Ugh.
And that's why he uses influencers
I've been watching Jeanie Beker on FTV since I was 13 in the 2000s great intro into the fashion world. She's awesome.
I used to watch Jeanne Beker and Elsa Klensch on weekends, and Cindy Crawford on House of Style. Those were the days!
christy is the best.
And not to forget. All the models we see kn those 90s interviews seem very educated and reflected.
Calvin Klein is so full of it : his clothing prices never came down even with the standardized fees. Such a bs'er.
I just brought yellow Calvin undies from Marshall’s for 4.50 😂
Loved watching Fashion Television, loved it!
In contrast, Versace revenue for 2019, was 66 million dollars, therefore, models are a pittance.
Well like athletes they know they only have so many years to make their money and sports industries would be nothing without the players either so you have to pay them accordingly if you want them on your team.
this is the 3th video i saw designers tryng to pay less for the models in the fashion shows... Guess it didnint work, right? hahaha
Ha, yup! That's why there are no more super models.. easier to under pay forgettable faces..

@@ImanniShows Kate Moss and Mark Wahlberg made Calvin Klein famous when he was almost bankrupt. He really is a jackass
CDFA & NYFW were cheap, they needed the Supers, not the other way around
Is that Linda Evangelista at Anna Sui fashion show?
Yes
Anna loved Naomi and Linda.
Modeling can have a very short shelf life...and few are at the top. Make as much as you can babe...it doesn't last forever..
Doing shows are HARD...when I ended my run I was happy to stick to photos and campaigns...
Omg the Colin mathura Jeffree?

That’s why they are extinct and life is not as great anymore.
They maximized their income during that time. That’s what smart people do.
