I sat front row center with three friends in high school to witness my first and only Maynard Ferguson concert. Maynard kibitzed with us and said it's nice to see young people attend his concerts. Maynard was a true gentleman and ambassador for jazz if there ever was one.
First concert I ever went to was Maynard in spring of 94’ at Kirkwood Highschool in Missouri. I was a Senior in Highschool and me and some others in the band drove across across the river to hear him. We sat in the front row! Unbelievable and awe inspiring memory.

He played at my high school too, in 1998 - it was a really trippy concert!
I so miss Maynard. I probably heard him a couple of dozen times. RIP MF.

Monumental big band ! Un must ! L'un des meilleurs ayant existé
Mi trompetista Favorito .
This was nearing the end of his best years though he was good right to the end
If I could play like Maynard when he was 70, Id have been great
@@alexanderhall3064 all you have to do is wrinkle your nose when you play the high notes! :)
Fabulous arrangement.
Rhythm section is out of this world.
MF brought his A-Game!! Super Clean.

Imagine what it's like to press a trumpet to your lips and know nothing is out of your reach.
