This brought back so many awesome memories. I remembered it was my 9th birthday and my dad pulled a wrapped box from the closet. My mind was racing trying to figure out what it was. As I unwrapped it I immediately saw the huge green "N" in the corner and I couldn't contain my excitement. My parents didn't have a lot of money at the time and I connected the dots on why my dad was having to work late for a few months leading up to my birthday. My parents couldn't afford to buy me games and one of the gifts from my mom was a wrapped Blockbuster bag with Super Mario 64 rental for a week. Everyday that entire week coming home from school I raced to finish my homework, inhaled my dinner, then spent the last 3 hours of my night playing Super Mario until my bedtime. I used all of my birthday money from my family and did some yard work for the neighbors so that I could buy Super Mario 64 on my own after returning it to Blockbuster. A few more months of yard work I was able to afford Mario Kart 64. Friday nights were game nights and we would all play Mario Kart together. My mom got really good and my dad's favorite character to play was Yoshi. I love you mom and dad, thank you for the memories.
That's a nice way to put it. When video games aesthetics + music create a perfect harmony that resonates within us, it sure makes life worthwhile, even when we have so many problems in our daily lives.
same dude, the aesthetic tree of frutiger aero and all of its many branches are calming and smoothing to me. makes me want to make the world a better place rather than feel stuck in survival mode 24/7
I have been entirely amazed that no one has sold a little screen to go on the wall with a ambient-volume speaker to play content like this in a room constantly.
I absolutely love the ocean footage with the graphic of the ps2 screen! As someone who lives by the beach, I can’t wait until the weather gets warmer so I can hang out in the water and listen to this beautiful playlist 🏝️
Dude yes! Perfect timing for going into the work week tomorrow. Stunning visuals, impeccable tracklist. Gorgeous vibes to get through those gray winter days.
Was gathering materials in Final Fantasy XIV's Diadem area and got bored of the default soundtrack so I muted it and went looking on RUclips. This was my first recommendation. I sat through the whole video while gathering and watching it on my 2nd monitor. I had a really chill time. Oh and nice Unreal Engine footage at 31:50 😉
Never got to play L.O.L for Dreamcast since it never came to the USA, but that track starting at 4:28 is sublime, teleports me back to the 90's playing N64/Ps1/DC after school.
@@pizzahotline_ Thanks for putting these together - as a 1991 kid yearning for those days again, these playlists make the sting of the work-a-day-world a little less. 🤜
Man, what an experience it was to play all of those classic games on the PS1 and PS2. I felt like that was the only true peace that I had. Whenever I started the PS1 or PS2 up, I prepared myself to be taken away into their own worlds. (The same could be said of the PS4/PS5, but they don't feel as Classic or Nostalgic as the PS1/PS2 does)
A lot of music that people call "timeless" is still sort of timed, but I really think this style of music will never go out of fashion. Keep making this amazing stuff :)
dude I had no idea Dream by Ryuichi Sakamoto was a song from a dreamcast game ( 04:28 ) !!?? It's been one of my deep favorite special songs, I always thought the album name lack of love was Sakamoto's interesting way of shifting the perspective on L.O.L. but it's actually the title of the game 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I want to experience it again when I first encounter this atmosphere, in the most exciting period of video games. I'm in my thirties, I started playing in the late nineties and early 2000s. I thought I would relive this by replaying my retro childhood games, but unfortunately it doesn't work. in any case, I'm lucky that this is not just a hauntoligic vibe for me, but that I could experience it vividly as a child.
Absolutely love the super mario sunshine visual. So dang nostalgic. Hot take: probably my favorite mario, although world would give it a serious run for its money.
This video is so perfect!!! It gets me into the zone while doing my art homework even though my attention span isn't the best. Love the visuals too! :)

dude i love this for you. I remember my father bought the Dreamcast for the house and we always played Sonic and Soul Calibur
♥
That was really sweet to read. I wish you and your family a life long of happiness :)
These mixes and visuals are genuinely part of the reason I enjoy being alive.

The graphic of the PS2 Boot screen with the ocean shots is so simple, but so damn effective
Yes that is too satisfying. Genius. 💚💚🔥🔥
A lot of that console music around 2000, 2001 had that dreamy atmo. Loved that. Felt like we were being up to a great future..
I have been entirely amazed that no one has sold a little screen to go on the wall with a ambient-volume speaker to play content like this in a room constantly.
Put a tablet on the wall
I mean you could do a good job with a Google Show or something like that
It's called amazon echo. They have a wall mounted panel variant.
Digital photo frames can play video. Millions have been sold already lmao
By the nine divines, this is beautiful
glad you included talos

"Coming right up."
The Hotline Pizza, is the Pizza, for you and me!
It's that part of the game where you can go sit somewhere and just fish for as long as you want.

One of my favourite playlists from you thus far. Thanks for introducing me to Lack of Love and rip Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The Shenmue tracks gives me so much nostalgia...

Lack Of Love is an absolute sleeper hit of a soundtrack
After a shit week at work, this really hit the spot. Thanks for making it.

your collections changed my life
Directly when I saw the Thumbnail with wuhu island I knew it would be chill.
The second track is the kind of music you could hear in a pleasant level of the Backrooms.

Didn't even know Sakamoto had made video games soundtracks. Nice comment.
That wii room- 20 midnight track is INSANE. That’s some of the best Rhodes playing I’ve ever heard. It’s like Pink Floyd but more jazzy dang!
Absolutely love this playlist! It's making my workday go by so much easier. Thank you, kind stranger. You just got a sub. 💚
every second is chiller than the prior
how have I never seen this specific genre of video game music mixed on yt 🔥

27:16 that outro was so nice
This is so good I can’t even listen to it
Thank you for creating such a vibe. As a creative this helps set the tone for my work day.
The only mix Ive ever fully listened to
There’s something serene about low-poly graphics 😌 I wish games still looked this way. I hate that everything has to look so realistic nowadays
I listen to this on mushrooms every Sunday
Huge respect for putting Shenmue in there!
Dreamcast was the best fishing simulator ever.
always fire
This is helping me through a very rough few days - thank you.
Omg and those drums on Cosmic Smash - White Stellar Room
Calming and Tearfully Nostalgic
