XG's Multicultural Concept is one not seen before.
WOKE UP is their most rap-focused single yet essentially doing away with the idea of a melodic hook. 808 bass infused with sounds unique to East Asia. All 7 members Rapping together for the first time. XG 3 Vocalists, occasionally rap behind scene. Part of XG Artistry Concept they're Alien Space Wolves pack from another Galaxy. XG Alien concept Storyline wasn't established until Shooting Star [3rd] single released. WOKE UP, Wolf concept throughout Music Video. Wolf grill, teeth fangs, eyes, ears, Wolf Giant eye, Wolf nails-claws, Wolf helmets, Wolf hats, Wolf clothing, baby wolves on Wolf float with Harvey and foxes masks.
XG invaded WOKE UP Planet. Beginning Jurin, rapline, Left the place in a panic, left to take another planet. Alien Storyline started with "Shooting Star" [3rd] released M/V up to WOKE UP [11th] single released M/V. This is the storyline of how XG left their Galaxy home in a panic, "Puppet Show" Planet [9th] single released
M/V. The beam of light destroying their planet causing a large portal hole in their Galaxy planet. The character made a run leap jumped and went puff into the portal light. XG survived the portal run leap jumped and made it to the pinnacle. XG left their planet "Puppet Show" in a panic. XG traveled to "Winter Without You" Planet XG [10th] single released. Winter Without You, Planet cold. XG traveled to "WOKE UP" Planet. XG Left the place Puppet Show in a panic, left to take another planet WOKE UP. Beginning of WOKE UP, a man walking toward Chaos, fire, explosion, drones, and Wolf attack. Simon Jakops CEO and founder of XGALX as well as XG's executive producer, which is WOKE UP Leader.
XG transformed themselves into Alien Wolves. I assumed XG Conquer WOKE UP planet. Cocona sitting on Throne chair with Crown upon her head, Cocona raplines, young Queen, I'm a Wolf in a pack, (pack), so I just wolf and attack. people sitting lined up on each side of Cocona with foxes masks on that's their Galaxy planet, XG invaded and took over. All 7 members walking toward end Victory walk. XG Conquer WOKE UP Planet. XG travels from Galaxy Planet to Galaxy Planet. If not watching XG Music Videos in Released order, one can get confused especially if not paying attention to lyrics. If one watching XG M/V for the first time can be confusing of what going on. XG always include their Alien concept in their Music Videos for ALPHAZS can see. Cocona been wanting to shave her hair off for a long time. XGALX Entertainment wasn't ready for Cocona shaved look back in the beginning of her career.

The rap line goes crazy. With Chancellor and Jakops on the beat, it's a perfect match.

Let me provide a little bit of info for you and your followers.
This is a 7-member Japanese global girl group ( 4 rappers and 3 vocalists but they all can do it all ). They operate in both Korea and Japan but they are not a K-pop group, they almost always sing in English. They can speak Japanese, Korean and English and English is their 3rd language. They mostly do Rap and R&B stuff but they are really versatile, you will see all kinds of songs from them.
These girls have bars actually. COWBOY REACTS has a 35-minute breakdown video on this song and has another 1-hour video of him breaking down GALZ XYPHER which is the rap song XG blew up :D Other reactors have breakdowns of their other rap songs, especially the TAPE's, in which they use the beats of "known" songs and sing their own lyrics. They pay homage to OG's and show respect all the time. They have tons of references etc.
They are basically a shape-shifting alien wolf pack from another galaxy and they have a lore. The eye thing was always prominent in XG music videos. You can see them keep changing and evolving etc. You'll see the throughline if you watch all their music videos.
"Tippy Toes" shows a little bit of their wolf shape & powers.
"Mascara" shows a bit of their body adaptability.
"Shooting Star" tells the story of them wanting to shoot off into the Stars to achieve their dreams
"Left Right" shows them travelling across the galaxies.
"HESONOO&X-GENE" is them awakening from hibernation before reaching Earth.
"GRL GVNG" is XG's arrival on Earth.
"TGIF" is their evolution commencing on the planet.
"New Dance" is them exploring their new environments ETC. ETC.
WOKE UP is kinda like them taking over or getting ready to take over. Their different songs/MV's represent different ERA's of their arrival to Earth ( not Earth per se but planets in general I assume ) and taking over. You can check the zoomed-in eye shots in these MV's and see the differences. They used those eye thingies in other songs like Shooting Star as well. I am not 100% sure what eye represents but my interpretation is that it shows their evolution or it basically shows they are aliens in a cool and visually pleasing way. I am sure they have a more detailed lore but we as the fans don't know much details yet.
They also have tons of references and easter eggs in the videos. For example, in the first Maya verse, it is like a court scene and Maya says "I'm the judge and jury" and she is addressing the "haters". There are people around in wolf-heads who are the witnesses ( which are the fans - their fandom name is Alphaz, WE are the witnesses ) and a guy is being judged with the upper half of his head missing. He represents the haters so they are no-brain, only talk. Also, you can see there is a building at the start and at the end and, a guy approaches it. He is the CEO of XG's label. Basically, he is XG's boss, but in the video, he is their commander. So while Maya taking the haters to the court, the other girls are coming in from the multiverse to attack the haters' """"head-quarters"""". You can see in the end it is in the shape of a head. It also blows up, so it means they take down the haters but it can also mean, after you finish watching the video, your minds are blown.
EXTRA : Cocona shaving her head can be interpreted in multiple ways. Saying F U to the beauty standards of the industry? Also, XG got some shade because of their outfits, hair styles, lyrics etc. ( Coco had braids for a lil while, so basically saying here, I cut all off, what now ? ) saying that they appropriate black culture ( they actually don't, they love the culture and they pay homage all the time. They don't pretend, they grew up with those songs, and their inspirations are the biggest old-school R&B, hip-hop, and rap artists mostly from the USA, they sing their songs, they use their beats, they shoutout and everything ) also, it appears she already did that when she was younger and wanted to do it again. The label didn't want her to until now since it fits the concept and MV so she did it in this MV. That can mean a lot of things but it's a bold move either way and it is fun, it is swaggy and it suits her personality. She is one of the swaggiest , coolest people I have ever seen. She is so badass.

I am happy that XG is not confined to a specific genre. Xpop perfectly matches them! Their dance skills outweigh those of any female group in JPOP or KPOP. XG is incredibly talented in dancing, singing and acting. These talented Japanese girls exceed the skills of most pop groups today. Congratulations girls, you really deserve to be Billboard, and now the world knows you and will be even more surprised in the future. Woke Up is a culmination of XG from past to present,... All seven of them just came in blazing, each with those rap verses, which are a continuum of the XG alien/futuristic lore. The Xtraordinary Girls are getting better and better with every release. They are, undeniably one of the best girl groups, if not THE BEST of this era.
