On today's show: It's an age-old controversy between North and South (Jersey that is) and each side's love of their own Jersey Shore: Which boardwalk is better - Seaside Heights or Wildwood? Host Brian Donohue and guest host Pete Genovese of the Munchmobile make their cases.
I have been going down to Wildwood since 6 months old, so I have to say Wildwood!
Seaside Heights all the way! My childhood memories live in Seaside...
I like them both either way but if I had to choose, I'd pick Seaside because I've going there for 9 years of my life before & after Superstorm Sandy.
I used to go to seaside heights a lot as a kid. But never went back there after sandy. But yeah seaside is where it's at. I've gone to wildwood plenty of times but I didn't get the same vibe. Think cause the boardwalk is shorter and didnt have the arcades I like in seaside
Seaside has improved a lot since this video, and I really like both but my heart belongs to Seaside and I love it so much! I’m more into the sentiment and the vibe you get and I just get the best vibes at Seaside Heights 💛
I haven't gone to either since after sandy and I've gone to both plenty of time. I always loved seaside as a kid. Boardwalk was always more exciting. Have to go back

Wildwood, no contest. Wildwood is cleaner, has wider beaches(seriously, you could film Dune there), and has a much bigger boardwalk with the most amazing amusement piers in the country. My only complaint is that not all of the original piers are still in operation, and Castle Dracula is sorely missed. If all five amusement piers were back in operation and a new horror attraction was added, it would be perfect.

This just came on my "recommended for you". Grew up in Middlesex County. Went to Seaside once or twice, kind of sleezy and full of a-holes. Wildwood was my favorite even though it was further. Cleaner and a better beach and bigger waves too.

Seaside for us..The water is a lot closer to the boardwalk..A lot less crowded and just as much fun..
Wildwood! Easy ! I have been to both but wildwood is the best ! The beaches in wildwood are wider and it’s free. Three piers and wildwood and 2 piers or something at seaside heights

Ocean City NJ! Wild Wood was great when it had Nickle's Midway Pier, Hunt's Pier, and when Morey's had those great HUSS rides.

i moved out of nj last year for arizona. thank god my friends are ok from the hurricane, god it breaks my heart to see what has happened to my home state. im still homesick.
both boardwalks are great but wildwood is like my second home so WILDWOOD!
even back when seaside was great growing up as a kid wildwood was so much better . now its not even close after what seaside looks like now its so different

Seaside's proximity to the ocean is why the amusement pier went the way of Atlantis.
I've been to wildwood every summer for 16 yrs straight and my father just spent his 25th summer here. WILWOOD ALL THE WAY !!!!

The rides in seaside hold a special spot in my heart that wildwood just cant fill, (rides before hurricane sandy) and the views of the piers from the boardwalk have always been so iconic especially funtown pier with the ferris wheel and tower of fear along to the back end of casino pier woth star jet stillwalk and the log flume, something about it is very hypnotic and wildwood just doesnt have the same charm. ALSO BIG NEWS FUNTOWN PIER IS OFFICIALLY BEING REBUILT AT THIS MOMENT!!
Nice. I haven't gone to either wildwood or seaside since sandy. I'd go there a lot as a kid. For me it's seaside as well. I like the boardwalk a lot more than wildwoods. Arcades are better. (Castle coin) haha. Hey does Charle's bed n breakfast still exist at S.S.H? It was a hotel with a restaurant attached to it
I've never been to seaside but I go to wildwood almost every year and I absolutely love it.
I've gone to both plenty of times before sandy. My heart sits with seaside. I always thought the boardwalk was better. I need to go back. See how it's changed since sandy
@@flint9889 Since hurricane Sandy? That was a long time ago. I know there was some damage to a pier but they definitely should have fixed up everything by now.
@@WyattTheGreatX97 the whole amusement pier was destroyed. Looks like everything got rebuilt.
My opinion: Ocean City is the best boardwalk in NJ. But if i had to pick between the two, it is Wildwood. It is much cleaner, less miscreants, and i am saying this because of my Philadelphia roots. The only thing that Seaside Does better is their arcades.

Batben01 I am from Philadelphia and I say wildwood because It's free,there is more to do,there is classic doo wop theming,and it gives its own vibe.
The irony is that back in High School, Seaside Heights was my destination every summer, but my last visit i noticed it went downhill (no thanks to that tv show i will not mention).
Batben01 Yeah, but Ocean City is more of a family-oriented place, and it doesn't have near the amount of attractions that Wildwood has. Ocean City is more like Long Beach Island in that respect.
I like Wildwood more because They have the best stuff everywhere on the boardwalk and the stores
Wildwood, seaside and ocean city have puny rides compared to wildwood. And wildwood has a water park right there so you can take a dip in the ocean, and then wash off in the filtered water park.
oh thanks cuz i was trying to figure out if seaside heights and wildwood share the same boardwalk but now I know that it is 2 different places!

As a youth, it was Seaside Heights for me, bar none. Sadly due to the decay of the place due to Hurricane Sandy, coupled with the fire that burned down so much of the place, not to mention the ilk of people that go there (thanks to "Jersey Shore"), now it is Wildwood for me. Seaside will always have a special place in my heart, the Seaside I remember from 1971 until the early to mid 1990s. I was blessed to make new memories with my son going to Wildwood, so now Wildwood is #1 to me.
The sky ride is really cool! They should put one up in Wildwood!

Now the rides in Seaside are even closer to the water. Wildwood, and NJ's only desert is the only beach & boardwalk in NJ not to sustain major damage.
BTW, I always thought the 2 big tyrants of the Jersey shore were Ocean City & Wildwood.

the difference between seaside and wildwood is seaside is more party hippy both women and men walk around with that serious looks on their faces where is wildwood is more family friendly laid back, i don't care for seaside at all only reason why I go there its closer to home then wildwood...
First Of All Wildwood Is Beast. Seaside Is Where All The Drunks Go. Wildwood Has 3 Amazing Huge Roller Coasters One Is Wooden And The Other 2 Have Loops & Go Upside Down. Wildwood Has 3 Water Parks On The Boardwalk. Seaside Might Have A Closer Beach BUT You Have To Pay To Get On It. In Wildwood EVERYONE Gets On For Free! Seaside Has The Same Rides Wildwood But Does Seaside Have A Giant Ferris Wheel? A Ghost Ship? A Log Flume? A Sling Shot? Go Carts? I Rest My Case.
North jersey guy here and wildwood is way better. Seaside is a day at the beach type place. .. wildwood is more a good few night stay.

It all depends on where you're from. People from New York, Newark, and north Jersey who don't wanna go to Coney Island or any of the Long Island beaches go to Seaside Heights. People from Philadelphia, Delaware, and south Jersey go to Wildwood.

@44excalibur -> I live on Long Island and have been visiting Wildwood each year since 1960. I wasn't impressed the one time I visited Seaside Heights. That was before Sandy so maybe it's better today. IMO, Wildwood's amusement park today is not nearly as good as it once was.
How is there even a question? Wildwood has always been and always will be better than Seaside, no contest.
Ocean city is not antiseptic
Wildwood use to have a lot of great restaurants but last 3 suppers eating out were extremely disappointed. Waited 45 minutes to get a seat at piss poor Uries. Both of us were served lousy meals including 2 ice cold baked potatoes. Asked waitress for a drink refill when she dropped off salad and never got it. Dump is a huge tourist trap. Ended up driving over to Lobster House in Cape May for a great meal. Wildwood had too many ahole drunk kids especially on weekends. Now only go there one long weekend a year and two weeks at cleaner, cheaper, quieter better class of people in Ocean City MD.

Seaside is a dump compared to Wildwood! No comparison between the two! The retro feel of the motel architecture doesn’t exist in SH.Wildwood FEELS like a shore town,Seaside does not.Most of all Wildwood is cleaner!

really sad that the show jersey show arrived at seaside. USED to love seaside I miss it but that t.v. show ruined for the family.....a security guard even near roughed wife and I up one night ..thought we were photographing this "snooky" thing......we wouldnt waste our anything on that we were recording the lights at night we left urbruptly 2 b continued
