New year 2013 - Official Fireworks, Amsterdam

Oosterdok, in central Amsterdam was the place for official new year street celebration this year. Thousands of ppl gather while the countdown to the year 2013 begins. Besides beautiful fireworks, the most stunning part of the celebration was the amazing performances above the canal water. The divers were diving so perfectly, it was like watching human dolphins jumping in the water. And at times they actually went above more than 25 feet above the canal water. Simply mesmerizing....
The camera is shaking as it was difficult to hold it with bare hands in freezing cold, rain and lots of crowd. The big speakers have also became obstructions, but this is the best i could shot. Hope it will give you fair idea how the city celebrated the beginning of 2013. Happy New Year everyone !!!
