I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

The GLF medium I had lost two guide inserts on my first outing reeling in a Slot snook. I was way disappointed after you recommended it. I’ve switched most of my arsenal over to Bull Bay Rods and have been pleased. Good video!
I have bull bay rods. Love them. I also have this rod and reel. Not paired together. I would try this rod again.

I’ve been running the GLF for a few years now, I have two paired with Ultegra 3000. They are a great rod, they have a nice tip action and are very durable. I have a few higher end rod/reel combs and usually tend to use the GLF most of the time.
I picked up this rod today and put my shimano 3000 on it. I caught 20 mangroves, jack and a 60 lb black drum. Today was my Best fishing day. Best 80 dollars I’ve spent in my life 💯
This is my new inshore combo this year. The nasci is a beast in that 100ish range. Better than my diawa BG it replaced. Also the GLF is a steal at the price. Love me mine. Tightlines Captain!

@@kennylove188 get a fin propelled kayak. props cant be run in shallow water, have a bunch of moving parts that break, , wrap up line easily, and are generally less efficient.

The Falcon rods are much superior, absolutely worth every penny of the extra $20 per rod. Many of my charter customers are now falcon rod owners w/shimano c3000xg range reels.

I have some high price BS I fish ponds a lot found my shamino DC and a st croix mojo bass is my go to it’s a lil under 400 bucks for the combo but out of a ton of setups it is on of my favorite ones

I’m also a fan of the fuego or bg from daiwa paired on either a glf, teramar se, and r falcon coastal xg or Clearwater. Just gotta put hands on em before pulling the trigger to see what’s right for you!
check out what reels have sealed bearings and machined gears. you'll quickly become disappointed by diawa's offerings
@@fishonkayakadventure i've been totally happy with my diawas . wanted to try a shimano and got a miravel last summer and took it back 2 weeks later . wasn't near as smooth as my diawas and the bail felt funky . everything isn't for everybody and i glad you have what you like .
How does it compare to a Teramar? That’s what I normally recommend around that price point.

The braid you mention is 8lb test braid or the equivalent size of 8lb mono?

10 lb braid is like 4 lb test diameter I use 15 it’s in the 6-8 diameter range white just a little extra some go w 20 feeding fish. Don’t think it matters but long cast sight fishing sure
