Some folks are talking about Roby like was an elite guy, he was definitely replaceable. Why not give the younger guys a chance? Roby was NOT locking down anyone, just there to tackle after the catch was made lol …. think before you just react with emotion
@@ArmyBoi337 Roby was probably our best option at slot. Taylor struggles in the slot he’s a boundary guy. Roby isn’t elite at this point but he’s experienced and reliable
@@justicebinder6544 again, the idea that Roby was locking down the slot is a delusional take in my opinion. His 2022 PFF grade was a 46.4, please feel free to look it up. No INTs, 5 PBUs…FIVE as a full time nickel starter.

TS is a great blocker, teammate and does whatever asked of him. Blocking for a wide receiver is not a given and Smith aids the run game tremendously in that area.
All fans seem to notice is one aspect of a player based on their position title. A running back can be more valuable blocking on 3rd down and a linebacker more valuable on special teams than they are at their primary title position. That's Taquan Smith.
Plus, he'll likely be an IR candidate. But it shows how the Saints value and want to hold on to him.
Besides the splash plays, where else did Lalos contribute? Did you notice him against the run? How about the plays he didn't splash?

Hopefully they are just making room for some moves and are going to bring them back. We need Smith. And although I like our top 3 cbs. Having Roby as a 4th would be great. Especially since latimore is likely to miss some games with a random injury

And I didn't think Taylor looked fluid in the slot. I like him on the outside but the slot is a different skill set. I don't like the move.

Only move I didn't like was Jaylon Smith getting cut.
If Jaylen Smith is as important and a "perfect fit" for the Saints as you say he is, why risk him to the open market where anything can happen? Why not risk Baun instead? Hell, for that matter, DeMario Davis wouldn't go anywhere, would he? Why not waive him only to bring him back?
My point is it is very risky so I consider them gone until and if they actually return. Given the way he performed, somebody can come with a crazy offer and thanks Saints for the exposure.
Because baun is still on his rookie deal and they had to cut jaylon smith in order to have an initial 53 man because they wanted to keep nephi Sewell and d’Marco Jackson’s also on a rookie deal
