I say, Squirrel, I'm loving this tour of blighty in your aircraft! Thought I'd make myself cosy in the back seat as we tour the nation.. Chocks away old boy!
The refinery is Shell, I live like 10mins from there! The is also an airport at Eastham the was used during WWII but is a museum now. Great place to go!
I absolutely loved this video, just the first ten minutes sold it because being from the Wirral, I understood what you were talking about and it was so amazing!
This was so cool to watch, I live in Ffestiniog about an hours drive from Caernarfon. I suggest you fly towards porthmadog and see the 'cob' which is a wall that protects the town and then follow the coast down to Barmouth and see the longest railway bridge in wales. Nit sure after that maybe follow the coast and then had through the valleys to Cardiff. Anyway so excited for the next episode :)
I don't know anything about the British Isles whatsoever, but I enjoyed your casual easy conversational video with your friend while the both of you were flying. I look forward to more videos.
You could take a visit to RAF Coningsby. There is nothing particular interesting around (geography wise) however it is the current home of BBMF and Thumper the Avro Lancaster. We also have Tattershall castle close by which is one of the first red brick manor houses and has connections to Earl of Warrick
As a pilot of the real DA-42, it’s remarkable how much this looks like the real thing, both inside and out. Performance seems a bit wet compared to the rl one though, 60% power would have given you 140kts easily in our one. We usually cruise at 85% for about 165/170.
Hello Squirrel...I found your channel a week or so ago and have enjoyed a lot of your Euro Trucking Videos. I am so happy that I have watched them more than ever today. I was unlucky and got a trojan last night but thanks to you and your video on how to save your profile I did not loose my profile and I am up and running after a few hours of wiping my drive and reinstalling...Many thanks to you and please keep up the fun and informative videos...Sincerely Bradley
If nobody else has said yet, yes the Red Arrows fly Hawks (I believe the T1 variant). Both the T1 and T2 fly from RAF Valley and all around Anglesey and Snowdonia for Fast-Jet training. The ones in the video looked to be T1's (shorter nose and smooth wing tips)
Excited to Scotland soon in the series. For that, you should fly up the west coast, lots of islands. Prestwick Airport - Barra Airport (if it's in the game).
The bridge you were on about in Queensferry is called the Flintshire Bridge (known as the new bridge to us locals) It's actually in the town of Connah's Quay but if I'm perfectly honest the Quay (Or anywhere in Flintshire) isn't a great place to live so maybe the bridge just being known as the "New Bridge" is better for everyone
If you're flying down the Cambrian Coast to South Wlaes, there's Portmerion where they filmed The Prisoner TV Series, Harlech Castle and the Mawddach Estuary. I know the RAF use the estuary for navigational exercises, (I've have seen Tornados and Hercules use it for low flying exercises in the past) so not sure if it's restricted airspace.
Straight over the top of my house and work at Conwy.. and then down to the beautiful Menai.. maybe you should fly one of the Hawks from Valley? Through the Mach Loop around North Wales!
FYI The danger zone near Liverpool is Capenhurst it's just outside Chester as there is a big uraninium enrichment facility there. also the bridge in Wales is called Shotton bridge this area is famous for the paper mill. The oil refinery is called Eastham it is located in Stanlow and owned by Shell. I live in Liverpool about 2 miles from EGGP so if you ever need information about the area please let me know :-)
Squirrel You and Matt when travelling down to South Wales, maybe you could continue through to Cornwall and land at Newquay airport which I believe is a part time airport anyway. There would be some spectacular scenery from North to South Wales which could also include the bridge over The Severn which looks awesome on land so imagine it in the air!
Visit where I live near Edinburgh on the edge of the River Forth, the only place in the world (I think) where you can see 3 bridges side by side from 3 consecutive centuries (or at least 2 fully built and one partially built if the mapping and textures are up to date) :)
Cool, like this, hope you also at a later stege can get FTX Norway and do some short feild flying on those small and challenging airports that are there, keep up the great work.
I'm in the cadets and have flown several times in the grob tutor, and agree with you that you do get to do a surprising amount, I mean my first flight our pilot gave me a basic lesson on the controls and such, but then he let me fly some aerobatic manoeuvres, I was in control during a loop and barrel roll. As you can imagine I was pretty nervous about screwing things up so was pretty reserved on the controls, to the point where the pilot had me do quite a few and each time he'd just say "Good, but more g needed, do it again" but having said that he was an ex-fast jet pilot, all the guys were retired RAF who volunteer to take cadets up, which is pretty cool cos the really know how to give you the best time in the air and also how to scare the shit out of you :) But yeah, as long as are willing to listen to them and follow their instructions they let you do most of the flying and are happy to teach you anything you want to learn. On my 2nd flight I asked if I he'd teach me some of the navigation techniques, because 1st time round he didn't have the GPS switched on, yet was able to bring us back down through the clouds right were we wanted to be and I was amazed at how he'd done it, so the pilot gave me a route to fly and then spent the whole flight pretty much ignoring what I was doing and instead looking for a new house.
Great series Paul and what a treat to start as i am born and breed in Cheshire so this was very interesting to me. thanks for a great video looking forward to the whole trip.
I have flown the DA42 in real life. It's such a good aircraft to fly, and really easy with the electronic engine management. Removes alot of the workload from the pilot.
***** Squirrel The Hawks parked by the taxi way are the red arrows. They were black because the RAF use black ones for fast jet training whereas the red arrows use red ones. Its the Hawk Mk.2 btw
for the rest of this series to be worthwhile paul needs to research and add commentary to various interesting landmarks or places of interest. he completely missed popular resorts in this and even conwy castle. if it's flying just for flying's sake then it's gonna be pretty boring because a lot of viewers won't have a clue about the geography.
altern8ive yep flew over runcorn and its transporter bridge, chester, Howarden Airbus industries way off in the distance, over both the little orme and great orme, then conway, the Castle and the A55 does not go into a mountain there it goes down under the Conway estuary. The A 55 does go through a couple of hills but that near penmaenmawr and again near llanfaiffechan. the quarries were just on the approach to Old Colwyn sorry nuts but for a guy born not all that far away ST Helens you missed loads of locations,
brckowarrior they mentioned Howarden but not it's significance to Airbus which was a fail considering they were playing a flight sim. yep Runcorn's "Two Pints" Silver Jubilee Bridge, Llanfairfechan/Penmaenmawr tunnels, which i had a logistical hand in constructing, Conwy tunnel, the lower slopes of Snowdonia, could've headed over Liverpool a bit, didn't know Stanlow oil refinery. for local guys they really were economical with the tour guide. it's titled a "Discover" series so discovery of sights and landmarks should be prioritised and commented on.
At 39;40 ish that white thing is called Port Penrhyn, it is a port useed in the early 1900s to ship slate from a nearby quarry, it was named by the owner of the quarry (Lord Penrhyn) now its for commercial and for shipping in sand for lorries and the output of cockels/muscles for thew Nolan Transport COmpany ( btw i live on that in bit just past it, its called Bangor) PS you're welcome
Hey squirrel! I work at diamond aircraft Canada and I've built all of the diamond planes in the factory. If you've got any questions about the plane let me know. I also have a video on my channel flying in an official diamond flight simulator. Cheers
I know there will be lots of requests. However, a flight from Stansted airport would be great! As it is local to both of us, (Great Dunmow) I thought it would be cool. Also since it is where you took off and landed on your trip to the Scania event.
Hi Paul! Love the videos man, keep up the fantastic work! What would be great to see (although i doubt they have modeled it) is to fly past the Northampton Express Lift tower. Would be really cool to see my towns `Landmark` on a game!
I opened 2 windows one with this one and one with Matt's videos and I was able to sync them and watch them together to get both prospective. The audio was synced too will a little echo but was really cool to see them both at the same time.
Nice video Squirrel, Found this from Matt's channel, it is nice to be able to watch both videos from both points of view. Hitting you up with a follow and a thumbs up,,looking forward to your next videos. You and Matt are both good commentators, hope to see more flights from you and Matt. Really nice landing from both of you and Matt, greasers indeed :-)
Hi Squirrel Just watched this video and as I recently started to get involved in Flight Simulation and also follow Matt I have enjoyed it so much, the banter you both had was great and it helped me learn so much. So off now to watch Episode 2 (21/12/2015)
I'd love to see you continue your tour down the Welsh coast, maybe even fly through the Mach loop, down to Cardiff. It's been too long since I saw the Glamorgan from above! Landmarks in the area, well, basically the Millennium Stadium and Centre (the bike helmet) in Cardiff, and the barrage in Cardiff Bay?
I did my first flight in January and as soon as we were around 100ft off the ground my CFI gave me controls and we just flew around. He landed it but I dropped the flaps and stuff. It was cool.
The red arrows use Hawk T2s. You are correct to believe that they were the Red Arrows but those Hawks may have been T1s or just other T2s, not used by the Red Arrows
Caernarfon airport is quite busy nowadays it houses the air ambulance and also it is the base for HR coastguard thats taking over from the RAF rescue. And i have seen a few small GA jets fly in and out. Along with the props. Still do not understand putting wind turbains on the side of the runway though!
Hi Squirrel!! I really love watching your videos and I'd just like to ask if you would ever be visiting Northern Ireland on this series! I'm from NI so it would just be nice to see what the airport is like in this game! Thanks for the great videos and in the instance of ets 2, happy trucking :D
Brilliant guys love this. Please please can you fly from compton abbas airfield and fly over dorset Swanage would be great! Many thanks and keep flying :)
my husband has taken me to a few places you flew over...e.g. Conwy, prestatyn (went on holiday there once), im sure we've been over a few times the bridge you flew under lol ! I weren't sure whether your pal was in your same plane or another plane lol !!
It really is a beautiful country you've got there. If I had to live somewhere else than Denmark, I would choose the UK. Looking forward to more episodes :-) /Michael
Fly down to Cardiff Airport (EGFF) and fly past Newport where ORBX have modelled the transporter bridge (1 of only 10 transporter bridges in the world) and then down into Cardiff where you will see Cardiff City stadium and the Millennium Stadium.

As always, top notch gents. Having multi displays sure made it more fun to watch, both streams in sync
I say, Squirrel, I'm loving this tour of blighty in your aircraft! Thought I'd make myself cosy in the back seat as we tour the nation.. Chocks away old boy!
Running both videos at the same time and syncing it up makes for a great experience
Squirrel and Matt together, I love it!!
Normally have a bit of friendly revelry with folk from St Helens (bring from Warrington) but I love listening to you two fly together!
I literally live 2 minutes away from the Menai Straits, such a lovely view on a warm sunny day! :)
Wow this looks amazing. It looks like your flying a real plane. The level of detail is unbelievable
Must have watched these videos at least 3 times. Love them!
The refinery is Shell, I live like 10mins from there! The is also an airport at Eastham the was used during WWII but is a museum now. Great place to go!
Diamond Star DA-42 Twin! WOW! I used to fly that beast on my Commercial Pilot License training! Now I miss that!
I absolutely loved this video, just the first ten minutes sold it because being from the Wirral, I understood what you were talking about and it was so amazing!

Fling over St Michael's mount in Cornwall would be very cool! In fact just hug the Cornish coastline.
My parents live on Anglesey so this video gets a massive yes from me! More of this please!

From Liverpool. Absolutely loved the trip thanks guys

Matt/Paul I think this video was so relaxing, look forward to the next instalment.
The Alabeo da-42 twin star is amazing. It is one of my favorite fsx aircraft!
This was nice. Good scenic flight and nice banter.

wow!! brilliant and yourself paul and matt work very well together GG well done
"There's the United Kingdom, and an island on the left." ............Don't you mean "There's the United Kingdom and a pub on the left?"
I got that plane you're in, the landing gear emits the most blood-curdling scream you've ever heard.
The refinery you saw as you left John Lennon was Stanlow, my dad works there, it used to be owned by Shell

There would be some spectacular scenery from North to South Wales which could also include the bridge over The Severn which looks awesome on land so imagine it in the air!
The oil refinery on your left out of John Lennon Airport is Stanlow, i use to drive trains from there some time ago.
You guys work really well as a team; I'm greatly enjoying this little series. :)
A collab between Squirrel AND MattDavies? YES! :D Awesome!

awesome video born in liverpool and live now in north wales so great video to watch for me

Bill Alicea Ha! Nice :)
Nice video Squirrel,
Found this from Matt's channel, it is nice to be able to watch both videos from both points of view. Hitting you up with a follow and a thumbs up,,looking forward to your next videos. You and Matt are both good commentators, hope to see more flights from you and Matt.
Really nice landing from both of you and Matt, greasers indeed :-)
Able Ponce Welcome :)
Fly from East Midlands via Derbyshire Dales to Manchester
Yes lads both of my favourite simmers playing p3d
Hi Squirrel Just watched this video and as I recently started to get involved in Flight Simulation and also follow Matt I have enjoyed it so much, the banter you both had was great and it helped me learn so much.
So off now to watch Episode 2 (21/12/2015)

Landmarks in the area, well, basically the Millennium Stadium and Centre (the bike helmet) in Cardiff, and the barrage in Cardiff Bay?
jonvoltage1 Oh, and how could I forget Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch just to the north?
nice flight, and great detail scenery
You should fly down to Bristol, see the brabazon hangar and fly under brunels suspension bridge!
Flight simulator video? That's just awesome!
This looks stunning.
Loving almost daily videos! And loving that flight sims are back!!!
Always love seeing you guys fly together :)
I did my first flight in January and as soon as we were around 100ft off the ground my CFI gave me controls and we just flew around. He landed it but I dropped the flaps and stuff. It was cool.
(17:00) on the left, the industrial area there is called 'Stanlow'
Visit the Peak District or Lake District. You could also try the outer Hebrides
My first lessons were in a 172 aswell. Very cool experience.
Great start to a new series, how about a flight to Belfast via the Isle of Man as a landmark..... I can always dream! #YOTS
I like this episode series :) Plz continue.
You are fyling an austrian aircraft and got the OE identification on it ! great video, greetings from Vienna :)
Modelling and lighting looks neat for a FS.
Squirrel don't do too many series at once. I would like to see them all completed.
I live by Caernarfon and everything has closed down here and I drive over Menai bridge day to day and it looks exactly like it does in real life
The red arrows use Hawk T2s. You are correct to believe that they were the Red Arrows but those Hawks may have been T1s or just other T2s, not used by the Red Arrows
Another brilliant vid. Could you do more of these discover videos maybe somewhere else around the world?
You should fly over Cumbria later in the series, the scenery will be great
great video paul looking forward to more and more ksp too :D
My god I was suprised when you said you're flying down the Menai Strait. I live on Anglesey and its cool to see this
Caernarfon airport is quite busy nowadays it houses the air ambulance and also it is the base for HR coastguard thats taking over from the RAF rescue. And i have seen a few small GA jets fly in and out. Along with the props. Still do not understand putting wind turbains on the side of the runway though!
Mark Jones I think they are on the disused runway and generate free energy for the site
Possibly. I haven't seen them land there since the second one was erected. I will keep an eye out when im passing. 👍
I would love you to do another series of discovering Britain but further inland
I sure the old ryle pier was burnt down. I still take the motorway to valley in Anglesey and I see the refinery and go past queensferry !!
my husband has taken me to a few places you flew over...e.g. Conwy, prestatyn (went on holiday there once), im sure we've been over a few times the bridge you flew under lol ! I weren't sure whether your pal was in your same plane or another plane lol !!
Two of my favorite RUclipsrs flying together. Perfect! :D
It really is a beautiful country you've got there. If I had to live somewhere else than Denmark, I would choose the UK. Looking forward to more episodes :-) /Michael
Welcome to the P3D MASTER RACE, Paul :D
Take a flight to the Shetland Islands please!!
I'm gonna be a big fan of this series. Very cool. =]
Thanks for the flight Squirrel.
Fly down to Cardiff Airport (EGFF) and fly past Newport where ORBX have modelled the transporter bridge (1 of only 10 transporter bridges in the world) and then down into Cardiff where you will see Cardiff City stadium and the Millennium Stadium.
Alex Nutt I've been on that transporter bridge with my motorbike! I'll def look out for it. Cheers :)
You're welcome :)
Fly past Portsmouth at night, the spinnaker tower looks amazing at night
Maybe you, Keralis and Matt could do a three-way Euro Truck Simulator 2 multiplayer series on a private server so trolling AI could smash into your Scanias
My geography teacher went to show the class this video a couple of years ago bit a supply teacher changed it as it was allegedly 'boring'. Now I've finally seen it. Nice trip. Although my instructor would have been strangling me since you were taxiing fast, not on centreline, taking off and not maintaining centreline, not keeping to correct altitude, flying under a bridge and not doing an overhead join to land on the right runway. Otherwise good vid 👍
Wow what a game! So much detail
Love the video , and I love that you're playing with friends
Can you explain something to me?
You buy the game and then you buy planes with real money too?
And also, if you were to crash it, does that mean your plane is gone and you need to buy another?
Also, I'd love if you continued this series :)
+Iain Clogher flight sim not game
I work on da42s and da40 in my job and all the controls and everything is the same as in really life.
Stonehenge seems to be a landmark you must visit!
