Some tips from cossacks 1 as far as I remember : - better to start food, wood, rock, gold and then the others - 2 farms are enough, you can put like a hundred ppl in there ! And you can farm fishing boats when you have the faster boat construction upgrade :) - If you upgrade mines, it gives more place for people so that you can put ~30 in it - You can create formations by clicking on the chief when his soldiers are around him. The formation size are ~36, 72, 120, 160 :) - Upgrading your cannons makes them being produced faster - Most of the "nation" upgrades are vitals !- Putting your army in formation makes them REALLY stronger !!- You've better to put your soldiers on guard mod (the option on the left) so that they don't go crazy as soon as they see someone in range- cannons, builders, mines, houses and non-military buildings can me taken if close and with no enemy around, but the IA often makes them explode for you not to have it
Hey, Apollo! I just discovered you maybe a week ago, aaaand... I'm pretty sure I've watched every single one of your videos. Keep crankin' out the good stuff, bud!
This is the extended 3D version of Cossacks, I hope with better A.I., but this game is still fun as hell that is why was my favourite war game in that heroic times about 2002-2003.I started campaign, there were some crash but the tutorial is fun and how nostalgic feeling was there oh god, I feel the love with this game now as well yet!
This game looks like the type of thing my friends and I have been looking for, not only is it a base builder, but it has military formations?!?!? Awesome!
Here are some useful tips: To form a battalions you need 36 soldiers plus drummer plus officer, or 72 soldiers plus drummer plus officer, or 125 soldiers plus drummer plus officer. round barrage artillery is devastating against units with no armour (eastern armies can be destroyed with only a couple of those round barrage artilleries alone) Try not to kill enemy peasants, but capture them instead. Bring them home to work for you, and you will also be able to create buildings and units from their nation too. The same counts for enemy buildings, and Artillery. All can be captured or destroyed just by comming close to it. if not protected (enemy buildings, artillery, peasants) they are more likely to be captured than destroyed. When enemy ships or enemy artillery is attacking your building, run away with your units and peasants because there will be many fragments flying all around and if they hit someone, they will die. I usually just send one peasant to do repairing, and when fragmens kill him, I send the next one.. Peasants consume only food, while military units consume both the food and the gold. When out of food, your units will start dropping dead, and when out of gold they may desert and start fighting against you on their own as a neutral player. Watch out when you build these biggest battle ships cous they eat gold like hell, and if you got out of gold, they will desert for sure and will be very hard to destroy them later cous they have like 50 cannons shooting with no brake. If you are in need of more man quickly, just build an Academy or Consulat (I don't remember of the building name), and hire mercenaries that will spawn as fast as you can click your mouse, but they want gold. Granadeirs are amongst those mercenaries. They have bombs. Very useful when you need to destroy enemy cannon tower or walls, or any other building, plus they can also throw their bombs at enemy battle ships and transport ships if close enough, and also they have bayonets without upgrades. For regular musketeers you need to research bayonets. Advance your town center to the next century with will allow you to build new buildings and troops, such as mostly variations of gun troops like those in Napoleon Total War. No armour, but stronger muskets and better in bayonet fight, also officers are stronger. It is good to build some Cannon towers for scouting and protection cous they have a huge range of sight and long range cannons. If you have many enemies from multiple directions, try to build stone walls with cannon towers behind and bring some trops to protect them (I usually use round barrage cannons). If you are in need of more resources (usually gun powder, and gold) Try to upgrade your mines they are closer to your town as much as you can. One mine can have up to 100 miners. It is not vety wise to have 100 miners in some far mine cous it is an easy target for enemy. Also, never forget to keep upgrading your troops and researching of new technologies. On the beginning you have those pikes units because they where still used in that time period, but as I said if you advance to the next century, your army will change in more of gun units. Also, it is good to create something like colonies in other parts of map. For exaple if you find a strategic Island with no resources, create an army base there, if you find some island with mines and forests and rocks, you should create a new colony there.. This is a very fun game. And this new Cossack 3 is mostly improved in graphics, but the engine and the gameplay is very much the same like in the older games.
The gameplay (and model design) is seemingly the same as the original Cossacks! But with better sounds and textures! To create a formation btw, select just the officer, then the option comes up for formations with any nearby troops
I used to play American conquest back when I was like 5 and I recently tried playing it on disk but it wouldn't work but now that I've found this is bring back alot of memories for me great vid Apollo :)
Tip: First eco. Keep building Workers/Farmers. Food and Minerals. Than 2 barracks one keep upgrade ur units one constantly for units. If u dont upgrade ur units to the highest level ur units get slaughtered by the AI. This is what i can say from the old Cossacks.
This looks awesome, practically as soon as the game started I was getting AOE1 vibes, and man I'd forgotten how much I missed a good ol fashioned RTS. On that note, can AOE1 remastered become a thing already
It is so funny to look at this video. I mean you both beginner so you don't know how upgrades, formations, research, gameplay function works, reminds me of me playing the first cossacks.
Lol, what a dumb russian. First of all, this game MADE by Ukrainians, so this MAKE the game ukrainian. Secondly, cossacks ARE ukrainians and always were. In russian language this word came from ukrainian. Howewer, the russian tzar started to call warden cavalry on the borders Cossacks too, but it doesn't make this word russian. And by the way, what you called "south russians" are ukrainians in fact too, because many of them moved to Kuban region after tzar betrayed them and russian forces destroyed Cossacks fortresses.
this looks exactly like Age of empires 2, the buildings and especially the proportions of the units and literally everything in the game. I would play this game for sure.
Game plays exactly how the old ones did, complete reskin and new engine, LOVE IT, I was praying they didn't try to make it like Cossacks II.. They went back to the original, and it payed off big time!
You should build churches. As I recall from the 1st Cossacks, clergy have the power to heal units. I found them very useful during pauses in the fighting.
To form a formation, you need an officer and a drummer. Pick the officer and he'll have those formation buttons like the calvary had. Each nation has unique units that are stronger then their counterparts in other nations. Russia has the game's strongest pikemen. BTW, Russia is a bit biased in the game (at least in the original), as they have game's strongest pikemen, musketeers and defense towers.
The summary of my pointless blathering below is this: 1. A bad joke 2. A talk about previous installment features and 3. A simple request to see some of the silly things people did in Cossacks 2. My one was putting all of my best regiments into Line formation on the same spot; every enemy regiment that got too close had their faces asplode via bullets. Back then, I used to scout the enemies' territory, charged at them during battle and used up my deposits constantly when I played this series (Cossacks 2: Battle For Europe), though I could never completely walkover my AI opponent. (Forgot completely about the second and fourth codes, even though I used to spam the former.) Though, after watching Pixel's video, BFE played quite differently to how this one does. The new game looks more in line with the older Cossack games, which is a shame since: In BFE, regiments wouldn't break formation, even when firing unless the morale was shattered (Caused by casualties, volley fire or moving with no stamina); hence, each regiment had a stamina bar that you had to maintain or suffer morale penalties; the three formations for infantry had effects (Box formation to use roads, which doesn't consume stamina, Line formation produced less casualties during combat and Square formation helped to defend against flanking attacks); regiment morale was increased the more combat experience they had; artillery would travel slowly without ordering to hitch them to artillery wagons (they also had a unit cap of 2-3 and were 10x less OP); etc. This doesn't even cover the long reload after firing, melee bonuses for standing still (bayonet users only) sappers, riflemen, literal fort/resses (not guardhouses), rocket artillery, cavalry and their formations, range penalties from distance and terrain, shattered soldiers retreating to base automatically (Is it a known bug if the AI attacks them?); resource villages with militia and little messages that appear above shattered soldiers yelling in fear: "It's a slaughter house". If they add this stuff in later, it would definetly add extra depth to the game. So, yeah. I played this game a lot as a kid. I'd like to know what the others thought about C2: BFE: What they hated and liked about the game, or just the stupid things they did within the game, like a regiment made only of officers.
If you love this game try American Conquest. It was released in 2000 same developer looks like exactly the same gameplay and graphics The Hunter-Gatherer unit is amazing
shift make unit per 5 and ctrl make infinite production. With infinite prod, ressources are taken one by one making this choice very usefull by not depleting stocks !
I've played age of empires and age of mythology before. This game is very similar but there are differences. I've also played rise of legends and star wars empire at war. I'm actually not very good at any of these games but they are still fun.
I wish this was a Cossacks 2 remake, formations were a lot more interesting then. Would like to see a video of you two playing against each other though.
I use to own ass on this game, if controls are the same as the old cossacks it's pretty essential to have town hall building peasants non stop, first person to get market also gets the first best exchange rate, you can also select peasants to build things one after another instead of waiting around. the only thing that disappointed me in the new release is the power of artillary is still the same and they are not manned. still a good fun game though that had a huge following
I love this game pixie. I love your vids but I am sorry that I can't always be there to watch all your vids. I hope you will get the 300.000 subs verry fast( sorry for my Gram)
hey Apollo. I've never heard of this game but I'm a die hard fan of age of empires and this looks very cool! it looks like age of empires meets empire earth. cool change of pace man
I just realized while watching this that it is the same vid but just from your side, it was a good game i might get this one day, it'd be cool to play with yall
I looked at this one a few weeks ago, since I am a huge AoE and Empire Earth fan,I think i might like this one, can't wait for some more gameplay, after some needed patches of course.
OMG I played Cossacks 1 and 2 like 7 years ago! This is awesome!
I bought cossacks 1 recently on steam. The best thing about these games is that they pretty much are exactly how you remember them :D
this looks exactly like the old games. Amazing, I like the nostalgia :D
IKR. I saw all these buildings and I almost cried
me2 with my dad :) best strategy game ever!
Some tips from cossacks 1 as far as I remember :

Christ. I forgot about this series. The first one was amazing
Funny thing is i see ppl saying this is copy of AOE, the first cossacks may be even older than first AOE :)
It is not. The original Cossacks is a few years older than AOE. Sorry to burst your bubble pal!
thats what he said
StoneWolf its literally what i said pal ;D
Sam B
Ooops, the opposite then. AOE IS a few years older My bad! xD
StoneWolf hmm, may be.
Hey, Apollo! I just discovered you maybe a week ago, aaaand... I'm pretty sure I've watched every single one of your videos. Keep crankin' out the good stuff, bud!

this game was my early childhood, didn't even know cossacks 2 came out
Same here, but I probably will buy this game
im so glad you are playing this game i couldnt wait till it comes out and its my fav strategy game
its a blast from the past, one piece of advice be very carfull on your uprgrades to be done in proper order. this is super important to do.
The gameplay (and model design) is seemingly the same as the original Cossacks! But with better sounds and textures!
To create a formation btw, select just the officer, then the option comes up for formations with any nearby troops
23:15 When the pikemen started stabby stabbying into the musketeers was so weird looking lol
I used to play American conquest back when I was like 5 and I recently tried playing it on disk but it wouldn't work but now that I've found this is bring back alot of memories for me great vid Apollo :)

Just googled for more Cossacks 3 gameplay after having watched DiplexHead's upload... Damn it.. xD
Pixelated Apollo you're awesome. Just thought you should know.
I remember watching this video 7 years ago. Trying to play it
It is so funny to look at this video. I mean you both beginner so you don't know how upgrades, formations, research, gameplay function works, reminds me of me playing the first cossacks.
This game is really amazing! :D
This is ukrainian game, and it's a remake of old original "Cossacks" game.
side note: they are devs of STALKER series, they should be dead but somehow they revived back
Red Deimon yeah
Cossacks are called south russians not ukrainian just because there is a tarass Bulba on thimbnail of the game it doesent make the game ukrainian

That peasant production it's gonna be YUUUGE!
this looks exactly like Age of empires 2, the buildings and especially the proportions of the units and literally everything in the game. I would play this game for sure.
finally a collab with Diplex! Yes!
remember playing their first games when i was just a mere lad :,) brings back the memories

Omg i love this game! I've never seen any of the Cossacks games before! :D
Game plays exactly how the old ones did, complete reskin and new engine, LOVE IT, I was praying they didn't try to make it like Cossacks II.. They went back to the original, and it payed off big time!
oh man, i remember american conquest and cossacks... those things were my first real strategy games.
It makes me willing to skip into Age of Kings again.
Hey, why aren't you verified? PS, love your videos so much.
Make sure to add an officer and drummer to each of your battle lines, officers incrrase ynits effectiveness, drummers incrrase their movement speed
I remember as a kid playing cossacks the art of war whole day in editor mode in my old toshiba laptop
I was so stressed about your food, Apollo.
You never played before American Conquest?, I think this is the same kind of game. Really cool
You should build churches. As I recall from the 1st Cossacks, clergy have the power to heal units. I found them very useful during pauses in the fighting.
love the long episodes and this game pls more episodes
i allways eondered if pixelated apollo knew diplexheated, i guess this vid answered my question
A NUU CHEEKI BREEKI IV DAMKE *Starts cossack dancing in Adidas tracksuit while listening to hardbass and drinking vodka*
the tricorn is the hat the revolutionary soldiers wore
Most men at the time in Europe wore tricorns.
As in American? It was a European trend that spread...
Probably as in French. :o)
Oh my lord I remember this game!! Wow such nostalgia
The memories watching this video when it first came out

Here comes the nostalgia trip
that ending was so cool
Played cossacks art of war as kid. Great video!
Your day going
You two should totally do NTW 3 together diplex was playing it in the past so he has some experience with it.
I love both PA and DH so I will like it.
Awesome, Pixelated Apollo keep up the good work
Thanks man :D
This game is like futuristic age of empires I like it
i love it to see my total war hero playing cossacks ^^
FYI troop numbers for formations goes like this (if it follows the old games) 15, 36, 72, 120, 198
apollo more of this game :D I did not know this was even comming out! Love it so far :) thnx! :)
U know Diplex Heated 🙌🏽
You definitely should play the first game in the series.
You should definitely play Cossacks 2 Napoleonic Wars, it was one of my first PC games and it was awesome.
Really liked that video. Thumbs up!
If you love this game try American Conquest. It was released in 2000 same developer looks like exactly the same gameplay and graphics The Hunter-Gatherer unit is amazing
cossacks thats a blast from a past looks good apollo
The game looks awesome! A nice refresher with new mechanics :D
From the same company that made STALKER, one of the greatest games ever.
I'm say it should because it look amazing!
shift make unit per 5 and ctrl make infinite production. With infinite prod, ressources are taken one by one making this choice very usefull by not depleting stocks !
There should be more games like this on Xbox love these sort of games this looks awesome
A blend of Age of Empires and Total War? So it's basically Empire Earth.
I've played age of empires and age of mythology before. This game is very similar but there are differences. I've also played rise of legends and star wars empire at war. I'm actually not very good at any of these games but they are still fun.
i like if you play with diplex
Here's a tip put a pesand on different parts of the fields
this game looks great PA
best youtube in the galaxy
I wish this was a Cossacks 2 remake, formations were a lot more interesting then. Would like to see a video of you two playing against each other though.
Nice!!More PA!!!
I owned the original one a long time ago, I was never very good with it it, but of course, I was a LOT younger then.
do more it would be cool to see different types of games on the channel
People say its a copy but man the copy is way better, so many more units for battling.
Musket BATTLES !!!!!!!!!!!!
As a fan of the first Cossacks I reeeeeeally need this! :/
And I'm jealous. :P
This was awesome! Please do it again!
The first two ones were a blast :)
Btw in the first one the basic strategy to start was to build 3 windmills and 2 townhall to mass produce peasants
I need more of this to live Apollo please play more!
Its Cossacks 1 in 3d -> perfect!!!
God I remember the Cossacks campaigns. Fucking hardcore.
This looks way more like a polished version of American Conquest than the old Cossacks, i think!
I love this game pixie. I love your vids but I am sorry that I can't always be there to watch all your vids. I hope you will get the 300.000 subs verry fast( sorry for my Gram)
hey Apollo. I've never heard of this game but I'm a die hard fan of age of empires and this looks very cool! it looks like age of empires meets empire earth. cool change of pace man
reminds me of how I used to play rise of the nation years ago,god I miss those days !
you can't zero in cossacks. build full formations, set your battle lines, and advance together. canon lines are nice too.
I feel like i was watching Diplexheated's video first cause this looks like that video but just from your side.
I just realized while watching this that it is the same vid but just from your side, it was a good game i might get this one day, it'd be cool to play with yall
Lol...placing docks. The bane of all RTS and city builder games.
Hey Pixi you can make a "squad" with 16 and I think 32 men!😉
Omg this game is so awesome, thanks for the video
i love you for playing this game
This game is awesome
To make a regiment you need at least 36guys an officer and a drummer, just click the officer and you can make a regiment
this looks prettty badassz. Nice play
i played the first game ;D it was realy funy back then, like 5 years back :)
I looked at this one a few weeks ago, since I am a huge AoE and Empire Earth fan,I think i might like this one, can't wait for some more gameplay, after some needed patches of course.
I recommend Battle for Middle Earth if you want another base building rts game for your collection.
Yeah,I have Battle for the Middle Earth 2,plus the dlc,for a very long time, another awesome rts in my opinion.
This game looks awesome
