The Battle Cat is a Heavy Backboned blank with a tapered fast action tip. The tapered Mandrel used when making the rod is designed in a way that allows for the fast action noodle tip while still allowing the the heavy backbone power.
The action deals more with the tip and bend of the rod. The rod you referred to as having the softer tip, would probably be a fast or moderate fast action. Extra fast rods typically are alot stiffer at the tip. Great video for describing the difference between action and power if rods!!! Keep it up Billy!!!
I am not sure. More than likely they are made overseas. I always buy what I feel works best for me. I haven't found anything that bends like the 7.6 foot Team Catfish rods.
I have several of the old whuppin stixs. My nephew caught a 40 lb flathead on the one I gave him. They where the best rods you could get under $20. Bass pro missed a chance to capitalize on the catfish industry by changing them to bass rods.
I have a okuma I love it I have a wisker seeker I love it I have a mad cat I love it I have a 2 B&M i thank it might be my best rod only time will tell
Never change buddy, your videos are great and they make me smile.

Catfish and carp uses the whisker seeker rods
I love my Xtra Medium Heavy SlimeCat rods. They are rated for up to 16oz's. The MH is rated for up to 10oz's
I love slimecat
I really don’t think the rod makes a ton of difference, long as it’ll hold up. Personally I like medium heavy 7 foot
Billy
Where are team catfish rod’s made?

A lot of that bend is determined with the type of material used and the amount of it when they build the rods.
The faster the tip means it gives more
People are mistaken the power of the rod with the action
Yeah power is backbone and action is tip.
I only have one catfish rod and it was kinda cheap. They all feel like broom sticks to me :)
I may oughta do some more catfishing.
Battlecat all day for the subtle bite
How about doing a thing on a shimano bait runner reel and a whipping stick units u will like em
