FYI The Tullibardine is 100% First-Fill Ex-Bourbon Cask Matured with no Sherry cask influence whatsoever. This information comes from an email from the manager of Tullibardine. (Those who regularly watch this channel might like to ask the hosts exactly which flavour notes they smelled and tasted which they mistook for sherry cask influence?)
I would NOT recommend this whisky and would suggest you taste a sample before buying.
I (and others I have given samples to), have identified a very unpleasant burnt plastic flavour note from this expression, or at least from my bottle. I was looking to see if others had noticed this as well. Obviously the hosts of this review did not. However, there was a "mustard" note which was mentioned which does somewhat suggest an off note. Pity he did not elaborate on this.
I would just like to add that I was a BIG fan of the Tullibardine 20, now sadly discontinued.
A similar flavour profile to this 15 but WITHOUT the burnt plastic off notes and more wood spices. As I said, i might just have a bad bottle but please ask for a sample before buying.
At least in my country, this is priced very high indeed, up there with some 18 Year Olds from other distilleries such as the Deanston 18.

I did not have a burnt note. I quite enjoy the tullibardine 15. Use it as a regular . I have the 25 year old which I'm going to keep aside for special occasion.

I really enjoy your videos and it seems we have much the same taste in scotch. I would like to ask what type of nosing/tasting glass you are both using in this video. It flairs a bit more at the lip that’s most of the other whisky copitas that I have seen, and I really like that feature. Thanks in advance!

Hello guys! Great review! I was wondering if you have heard of the swedish distillery Smögen, it's small scale but they have some really interesting whiskys.
    Cheers!

Interesting you say there is no chill filtration or colour added. My bottle doesn't reference either of those facts and I can't see mention of it on their website either. From having it in the glass and adding a drop of water, i'd say if it isn't chill filtered it must be heavily barrier filtered as there is no mist.

They were told probably in the distillery that it is neither. But well, it might be. Probably not chill-filtered but barrier filtered I agree.

I wonder if horst gave his son his first drink.

Tullibardine The Murray is a 12 year (2007 vintage); so this 15 is not their youngest age statement bottling.

The stamped number on the bottle is quite unfortunately funny for the ones who know

Why can't a Highland Whisky be Smokey or Peated like an Islay?
