This one punches way above its weight! Especially for the price. The kind of smoke and character you'd expect from Ardbeg, marketing disregard. Slightly more honey. A completely different bonfire.
Absolutely awesome review- I recently became aware of this and im gonna get a bottle, cant wait to try this, thanks so much for all of your outstanding reviews!
After being a long time fan of Laphroaig I found this to be an even better alternative though harder to find. 1 out of 5 stores will have it on their shelves in my area (Denver, CO) while 100% of stores will have Laphroaig of some variety. If I can't find Ledaig then I will settle for Laphroaig from here on out.
I've been seeking this one out as it's not available in my area but I finally found a mini bottle during my travels in London. It checks all my boxes alright. Great review, Horst. P.S. You need to teach a class in whisky marketing!
Pour a double & add a dribble of watter, then leave for at least an hour & you'll get a compleatly different experience. Peppery, sweet, cereal, chocolate, warm dry peat smoke, long finish. It is indeed far superior than it's price tag & age suggests but needs to be treated with respect to coax it out from behind it's bullish exterior!
Reminded me of silverbeet, which I'm not a big fan of when its on my dinner plate, but in this its amazing! salty silverbeet , complex taste...I mainly drink Glenmorangie 10yo though, but will have to switch to this, the best Whisky I've ever tasted.
La-Chaig and I wasn’t very impressed at first opening, but came back to it a week later and thought it was amazing, it’s a regular now, one of the few whiskys I drink under 50% ABV.
I would argue about complexity and smokiness on this one - 15-20ppm at max., goes for about $45 - a little too much compare to a lot better ardbeg 10 for $50. But I would buy another bottle for under 30 USD.
The point is not at all in the PRICE, the whiskey is really wonderful, and it cost only 50 euros Дело, вовсе не в ЦЕНЕ, виски действительно замечательный, и обошелся всего -то в 50 евро
I love your reviews, except the way you swish the whiskey in your mouth, and the sound it makes... It blows my mind and I have to mute it. Sorry to be negative :)
Tobermory taste wrong, you can call it interesting but it's unpleasant and in my opinion) Ledaig is not much better. The last time I've tasted it , it was harsh/sharp with a nasty sour note in the finish. No chillfiltration and E150 and higher abv does not allways stand for good quality
Sorry. If you are going to review anything, you should research and learn how to pronounce the name properly! Why do you need to use profanities in your review? Awful review!
Why is it a 'horrible' opinion? An high profile review review should be well researched. The name of the product should be correctly pronounced. Profanities and expletives have no place in reviews at all.
Why? Because that's my opinion, James ;) Horst is an excellent reviewer.. the best. This review was 3 years ago, 2 years before your "comment". This is the only review i heard him swear or mispronounce the whisky name (which he was aware of mind you) and i thought it was endearing. Nowhere have i ever seen someone know his stuff like Horst, and then you come along and cry because he swore and mispronounced the name. If it were me, i wouldn't give a "shit" about such a complainers comment.
James62 I am also entitled to my opinion, Sammy which is not 'crying' as you so blithely put it. One man's excrement is another man's review it seems. Enjoy!
Ledaig is one of my favorites, I think its even more complex and longer finish than its Islay siblings.

I just bought this, and I was very very pleasantly surprised.
This is my favourite whiskey to date. Cheers.
awesome job, I enjoy the reviews and there is not many on this unique bottle, thanks.

I had a bottle of this wonderful whisky a few years ago. Wonderful Whisky.
Great video, I am really looking forward to trying this whiskey and based on your reccommendations it could become a new favourite!

I love this whisky. I like a first taste neat then drop in an ice chip.
Oh God. Please, forgive him
I don't get the strong peat on the nose.

Least expensive out of at least ten malts in my bar and enjoy equally as much.

Good thing, whiskey is subjective😎
mine cost £30 and ardbeg is usually £50. and personally prefer this. so its a win for me lol

Warum machen Sie die Tests auf Englisch, obwohl sie nur in der BRD verkaufen?
