Oxford great turn out- fans sang all the way through- more than enough to stay in the division this season and I wish you the best for the rest of the season. Sunderland’s main threat to promotion pretty obvious- the wolves circling in January for the young talent- Rigg Jobe especially.

A very fair appraisal of the game. It’s been a tough week and this seemed a nice peaceful game, although accept that might not be what you want to hear. Nice to watch is just get the job done. Nice to have Oxford in the Championship and wish you all well.
Great review. Unlike some teams in the division who try to win fair or foul, Oxford are a footballing team who looked a little laboured today, but should be safe in a league full of quality sides. best wishes from a Sunderland fan.
Sunderland fan here. What a refreshing change, a concise, balanced review. In a way we are overachieving, but 5 points clear at the top ain't a total fluke. Regis le Bris has given our squad a self-belief that was sadly lacking towards the end of last season. Add to this we now have a couple of more experienced players and maybe more importantly a couple of decent strikers, and yeah things are looking rosy at present. As to our end of season position and bearing in mind we are just over 1/4 the way though, I'm sticking to my pre-season guess of a play-off position.

I agree your side had a lack of quality as a newly promoted side but I do feel the setup made that difference quite stark when trying to play from the back with centre halves that looked weak in their pass decision making. There was a possibility of making the game difficult for us if you played to overload the midfield with bodies which could have made up for the disparity of quality

Sunderland fan. I think that Oxford should be able to stay up if you can take a few points from home games. On my expectations for this year I had hope's to challenge the top 6 . As bad as we were last season we still had the 4th best defence in the league and we pretty much sacked off the season after Beale. it also gave our youngest players another season under their belts now it's time to kick on. Enjoyed you comparing Jobe to a Rolls Royce in midfield because that's how we see him. I think this year's transfers were the few missing pieces we needed to have a sustained effort this year 🔴⚪

It's refreshing to hear so many positives being said about my club with no saltiness, Gg's and good luck for the rest of the season. Our lads, Neil, Roberts, Jobe, Rigg and Hume especially were unplayable today.
Great game for us and I urge Oxford fans not to be downhearted by todays result. I imagine most sunderland fans are just as surprised (pleasently as it is) to be playing as well as we are. Good review. Will be honest, Oxford didn’t look a threat at all but we are in a very good moment. Yous have started really well for a unexpected promotion team so hope yous keep it up. I think in these tough away games you need to bite the bullet and be that bit extra negative and try and hold on for that first half. In terms of Sunderland, I don’t think we have the squad for top two but we’re starting to believe, this team has come from prior year investment so keep the faith

Sunderland fan here. I think we will get promoted but through play offs. I don't know if its just that for the past 2 seasons we've always dropped down after flying high but i just dont have the confidence that we will be top of the table by December. Maybe i should back be backing the team more but with sunderland... you just never know on the day if we'll turn up
we don't belittle any team apart from Newcastle !, oxford should stay up you are about where we were 2 seasons ago, a striker is the main player you need as we found out. we have did well since last season, and if we get Jordan henderson back in Jan we will go up.
We havent just got young players who are in their 3rd season in the championship, we've got ballard,mepham,browne,roberts,connolly we arent overachieving at all we got to the playoffs in our first seasoj back in the championship 2 seasons ago & we are better equipped now, if not top two we are definitely in the playoffs
