The road doesn't have to pass through the waterfront. A flyover bridge can go over it. It will even beautify the area. The fact is, the Nigeria government is wicked.
The road around landmark beach should have avoided that location with 2 options: (1) Put a very tall fly over bridge as tall as or taller than the third mainland bridge in the area. Two consider putting the road underneath the beach for half a KM so long as they can prevent it from flooding in an ocean surge. Or simply find an alternative route behind landmark. A beach front relaxation area is much more important for a nation and a people than a stupid road that will be used by only a minority of the city and nation at large since existing railroads and highways exists for decades in the city. This is what happens when APC idiots are allowed to run a state or a nation with their third class tribalistic brains.
Lagos State is presently afflicted by real estate investment inertia. Their regulations are just too many, unknown, unpredicatble, inconsiderate, irrational, indefensible, toxic, sometimes selective, and spontaneous. It's very unfortunate and has rather become a disincentive to passionate investors. The anxieties are strangulating and suffocating, and no image laundering can redeem it now. Nigerians are now trying to create a semblance of Lagos in other coastal cities with high-end infrastructural facilities and stable security. Tribalism is destroying the real estate investment appetite of investors who had hitherto loved Lagos.
Well said, the Igbos and other none Yoruba people feel targeted by vindictive Bola Tinubu led APC and the puppet government of Lagos state for simply exercising their democratic rights. In knew that there would be a very nasty consequences for the Igbos in Lagos immediately after the election as it’s unlike the divisive thief Tinubu to not punish innocent people for refusing to vote for him.
Why will people invest their hard earn money in a place where rule of law is zero to none adherence, a government can just wake up and tell you that they wanna construct an highway via your building and gbam they start demolishing your hard earn investments. I support you stay away from Lagos don’t go and waste your money.
I don't know how old this man is , as Igbo man, I bought my first property in Lagos 42 years ago. My advice is Invest in Lagos and soon , your property will become Landmark beach. 😢
Hi Deola, To effectively deal with time management with regards to speakers who come in on the show asking questions, please permit me to suggest the following: 1). All speakers should write out their questions in a paper before coming up; 2). These questions must not be more that 'X' lines long. Suggestions 1 and 2 above will force them to think deeply and effectively direct their thoughts more controlled and effectively, to the very issue in question thereby cutting off all forms of digression. 3). As they show up on camera, they straightaway read the questions to the Main Speaker or whoever you invited in; 4). Secondary questions from them based on the Main Speaker's answers of their first question should be brief, concise and to the point. I am sure you will have more time to squeeze in a greater number of people who would like to speak on the subject under the limited time you have. I have suggested thus because I know that when people are given time to speak, they sometimes forget that others are on the queue behind them.
Thanks adeola for establishing this platform, and grateful for the time the honorable minister and our now known mr Jermaine the lagos state diaspora minister, i have no doubt lagos state will work and working for all, thanks
Why invite commissioner for Information on land matters? That is not his area of responsibility! This is Nigeria pls take his words with a pinch of salt.
Lagos matter you will probably need 10 truck loads full of trucks, bought a land at ajah 10years ago, I am still fighting for that land. I had to stop fighting for my mental health. Believe lagos government and apc at your own risk
I have peace of mind after watching this video and I will now consider developing in Lagos. Thank you very much Adeola for continuing to do a great job and service our fatherland. We hope to see legitimate improvements in Lagos. I didn’t even know that Lagos State Government sells land to individuals. I will consider that too whenever it’s an available. Thank you very much. 🇳🇬🙏🏿👌🏿
They did not answer the question that C of O takes decades to get in lagos. Whats the need to own a place, when u know, onces the government needs it for public interest, they will take it, without asking u. Better dont invest.
That sounds kind of shady! They call that Eminent Domain in the U.S. I don't know how that would work in Nigeria, because things work differently in Nigeria. Even democracy is unrecognizable at times in Nigeria.
WOW...what a great show for us here out of the country. l am going to contact some of your guests. Mr. Omotoso stated that over a billion dollars have been spent by people like me in Nigeria, this investment could be triple if people like me could be able to know what are needed to invest in real estate in Lagos. Adeola, thank you so much, watching you here in my Tesla Y, in Seattle Washington, USA. With respect to Mr. Omotoso, the government should compensate the owners the value of the property by outside company. My goal is to come back to Lagos Nigeria to start a farming company. I will be contacting Mr. Sanwoolu soon to guide me in my new business to employ hundreds of my people in Lagos.
Political interview like this does not go beyond the current government just to make them relevant. They don’t have an enduring policy and regulations to make them the test of them.
The facts reamins that C of O is not something that is easy to get ,about 70% of houses and lands in lagos doesn't have C of O because of the thieves in alausa working for all this top guys closed to the governor .They are making it hell for people to get
I hope you guys in government can now see the importance of social media? Your job can be made easier when you make yourselves available and accountable.
Mr Adeniran, turn your hand to BRT OOOO. HABA, mind your question oooo. Kilode Leasehold like how, you think say obodo oyinbo people dey gbadun wetin their govt dey do for land lease matter🤨.
Nigeria as a whole, worst of all Lagos state ist a lawless place in that regard, its really a pity. Here in europe, once u get papers for land or to build in a place, forever those papers will be valid for ever. If there`s any need for government to use the place for public interest, they will make an offer to u, and it will be up to u to say yes, or no. and the government will have no choice than to accept and respect your decision. Thats what`s called, lawful place.
Concerning demolition in estates of private developers, why were those demolitions not done when construction was at foundation stage? (assuming the developer is doing illegal construction). Why wait till people have fully paid for so called illegally constructed buildings in a whole estate before demolition?
The government now presents a positive image, which is commendable. Mr. Gbenga and Mr. Jaermaine deserve praise for this. It's always enlightening to tune into my namesake's programme; we learn something new every day. Well done, Lagos State! This progress signifies that we are moving forward.
Absolutely, I lived in such area near Houston for many years, before finally moving far away. It creates all kinds of respiratory issues among the dwellers. I will never live near a refinery again. Not good for your health!!!
I bought couple of lands in Ibeju lekki from the Oni Ibeju from the palace and unfortunately the king passed away some 4 years ago, and since then land grabbers has been chasing us around…
He doesn't seem to even begin to understand the issue: it's the perception of government as complicit in the issuance of illegal title documents to UNSUSPECTING (or even conniving) buyers. That's a failure of governance, the blame for which can't be laid at the meeting of the investor. They just don't get the point.
I have family members who came to Lagos on a flight home to buy land for real estate and left without buying anything out of fear and bureaucracy after hearing stories from friends who lost money investing in Lagos. I failed to convince them. I spent 6 months paying lawyers to verify Lekki lands and 95% of the time they weren’t legit or built on land government marked for something else. Sometimes funny stuffs like agriculture. In the end I got something with a peace of mind but I am afraid to build there. 2 years and no C of O. Lagos state government is not transparent at all. I hope they can change. Lagos must have lost over 65 billion naira in investments since this current APC government came into power. This is the state of my birth. As a Lagosian it’s important to own stuffs in Lagos or at least invest there. The government is frustrating people and a lot of us are now considering other parts of Nigeria. Many diaspora feel the frustrations and a lack of trust in Lagos. Lagos isn’t the only costal parts of Nigeria. I hope the government comes out with clear cut policies abd transparency and end the land grabs and demolitions.
Pls Deola help ask Jon commissioner how their govt can spend up building plan approval and C of O because these documents take up to 10 years to get from lagos state govt.
Adeola pls help us ask the Hon. Commissioner about some inability of some land owners to regularise their documents when the area is said to be 'Not gazetted ' especially some area in AJAH.
😅Hon. Commissioner, why is it that the lands earmarked for agriculture in the Lagos state were/are being given for residential??? Also, can we know how much it is for the residential Survey plan and C of O, thanks
Uk is different from from Nigeria where land is already developed and roads planned to various estates and once there’s buildings in place the roads constructed with drainage and everything hence is legal for uk to collect council tax on property for ever. Nigeria on the contrary lacks the system
Please Ma, how can we get our plots of land back from the Lagos State Government? Some of us bought land from the LSG some years ago, with the intention of settling down in Lagos. We have c of o for the plots, but we have not been able to take possession of the plots. Our representatives were chased away by some people. In fact, there are buildings on the plots already. The Lands dept. is saying that we are many that are affected, and that government is taking action! We have been on this for over 6 years. Please this is not fair. LSG should give us plots elsewhere. Thank you very much for the good work that you are doing Ma.
The issue of Landmark is not whether the beach was owned or not. Sure it is government owned, but the issue is whether a more reasonable, empathetic decision could have been made,, given the value of investment, the fact that it was Nigeria's number 1 tourism destination, and employed hundreds of people. They wickedly destroyed the beach and went right back to land lol.
Mr Adeniran, please stop misleading people. In the UK, land is either freehold or leasehold, considering the built cost no leasehold is less than 99years, except you are buying from lessee. We pay council tax or business rate on properties except where you are a leaseholder then you pay ground rent. Please stop misleading or try to read up and/or learn from others. The short term lease is granted to buildings or businesses
No need to worried until you enter one chance in Lagos state and years after they come to demolish the property 😂😂😂😂. Pls, don’t listen to APC propagandas and lies.
The commissioner said the lagos state governor has assigned 5 people to sign off C of O? Is that right? Is this for the whole lagos state? That's too poor. I recommend one person per local government 1:18:38
Buy land in Lagos to your own peril. I wanted to invest in real estate but not anymore in this recent Nigeria esp Lagos. It’s for someone who recklessly wants to throw away their investments. Nigeria is a scam.
I purchased a plot of land from Lagos State government since 2012, I was allocated block 1 plot 1, Sunnyfield scheme EXtention Erekiti Badagry, up till now, I have not been shown where my plot of land is situated. Kindly help me sort this issue out please.
Pls people should try as much as possible to stop deceiving themselves. What did you expect the man to say? that it is unsafe to invest in Lagos?. If you are not an indigene.. invest at your own risk.
This guys come to TV show to say sweet words. I watched the show live and sent emails to both guests same day and no reply tull now. So guys dont think they answer you fir any reason. I am still waiting for answers. Please Adeola could you contact them to reply to our emails.
People should do the right thing by verifying before payment. It takes more than 90 days to get C-O-O. How can you speed up the process, and how do you buy from the government directly?
Is landed property documents not from the government if not who issued them, can't government tell people straight away that the land you are about to buy is under government marked area and should not be used for residential purposes
I live in Indiana and the only property I laboured all my life to build was recently brought down by the state government. Please guys stay away from Lagos is unreal place.
Hi Adeola, the email addresses for both the commissioner and Jermaine does not exist. The emails is repeatedly bouncing back. Any help of providing the correct email addresses please?
Sir of course friends of yours are receiving constant update lol. The investment you currently have with this dysfunction probably reflects 15% of what Lagos could be if you actually create an effective system. Create an effective system.
Oga, was asọ Rock built at the right place? When some of you talk about the law the way you do, we wonder if you guys are not insane. What laws have favoured the masses in that Lagos?
Is it safe to invest in Lagos Real Estate? The answer is no! How they handled demolitions was inhumane and a backlash is expected. Our electronic data cannot be trusted (example - BVAS) , Courts are compromised etc. Nigeria can happen to you easily here.
Igbos, please stay away from Lagos properties/land etc... Yorubas, can buy their own lands. Go to Abia and add value to your areas. Don't trust Lagos government treatment to Igbos!
Just listening to the insensitivity of your guest is all the information I need to stay the hell away from Lagos! No way I'm gonna even accept a free real estate in Lagos!🤔
Madam Grace, you're not Yoruba, and you're also not Ibo! You can only speak for yourself. If Lagos state and APC have decided to do better and do right, that's understandable. It is indubitable that Ibos were victimized, marginalized, and demonized in Lagos. The proof is there. If it looks like a dock, quarks like a dock and walks like a dock, it is indeed a dock!
Adeola why are you supporting or helping people to promote this type of investment that can at any time backfire. land and property in a place where rule of law is not uphold. Government can say tomorrow they nee to construct a road or say a place is a water way. Please your family name and platform is more important than that commission you will receive.
i just dey laugh bcos all this question and answer is all waste of time. The man been asked question doesn't know what he is saying. Nigeria is completely lawless, most people do not have regards for rule of law
Bringing the minister is a good journalist duty and responsibility from Adeola as the people have a right to know and to ask questions. Nigerians in the diaspora are now investing in other countries from Ghana up north in Africa due to fear of Nigerian governments. Having a representative of the politician shedding lights on these issues is important although we hear a double language. The government owns your land even if you paid for it. They can seize an entire town for redevelopment to punish a certain tribe after an election for any reason and pay compensation for years if 80% of the buyers are of that eastern descent. The law that gives the governments the right to someone’s ancestral land should be repelled. It’s 100 wrong. Let them approve and decide where they need and hands their filthy hands of the remaining land because the people who usually go into politics are criminals 99% of the time in Nigeria. They are untrustworthy and measures must be put in place to protect the people in constitutional amendments nation wide.
Is this man mad? Land is owned by somebody perpetually. Our ancestors waged wars to defend their land for over 25,000 years sometimes. Is he saying a new baby country like Nigeria can take that away at any time perpetually for tribalistic governors to come in and steal the land for themselves because that is all they do including Tinubu. Every state governor steals land. By which right do they do that? They are ordinary civil servants who are ejected to be in office for just 4 years which is renewable by another 4 years maximum of 2 terms in office. If any tribe leaves Nigeria they take their land with them and have a right to use warfare to do so. Nigeria’s rights over such lands end when they leave. Another governor in future or a new federal government has the same rights to look into all matters regarding the acquisition or gift of land by former political leaders all over Nigeria. Then all land stolen from indigenous peoples and from the state can be retrieved from the politicians and any buildings they built on it be seized of their families can not defend how they got the money to build them. They should then be sold and half of it returned to indigenous families in beneficial investments for them. That will be justice.
Invest in Lagos if you’re APC member or planning to join, if NOT better go and invest in sambisa and have your investment safe.
The road doesn't have to pass through the waterfront. A flyover bridge can go over it. It will even beautify the area.
The fact is, the Nigeria government is wicked.
Totally false on Landmark demolition. I was watching until he said that.. no point continuing. Part of Lagos and APC propaganda
Stay away from Lagos unreal estate. To be fore-warned is to be fore-armed.

Creative touch werey, you guys have a drug cartel destroying people's sweat in lagos and maggots infested 🧠s like you come online to defend criminals.
I don't know how old this man is , as Igbo man, I bought my first property in Lagos 42 years ago. My advice is Invest in Lagos and soon , your property will become Landmark beach. 😢
Thanks and God bless you we won’t wast our money anymore in Lagos is a big lesson we have learnt from different politicians
In the UK you have leasehold and freehold. Not all land you pay ground rent.
Thank you Honourable Commissioner and Mr Jermaine Sanwoolu. Well done Adeola for your good work.

Why invite commissioner for Information on land matters? That is not his area of responsibility! This is Nigeria pls take his words with a pinch of salt.

While some are bringing down your work and your channel others are using it to promote their business.Thank God for the publicity.

I love this Jermaine guy
Igbos are migrating gradually, with their markets, soon it will be empty.
Fantastic!!!

Nigerians hear and learn real estate in Lagos is a fraud and a bad idea for now
I bought couple of lands in Ibeju lekki from the Oni Ibeju from the palace and unfortunately the king passed away some 4 years ago, and since then land grabbers has been chasing us around…

Honestly there are just here to defend the govt. it is normal that you will defend who is giving you food
Government that came to power through technical hitch in INEC process will have technical difficulties on all the dealing with the public.😂😂
Adeola please stop the Grace lady from ranting . There are people waiting to ask questions.
You can’t even prosecute land sellers who go about selling lands that can’t be assessed…
No, in the UK,there is freehold & leasehold. Do not pass wrong into the public.

Former governments until revenge started 😊
Sir of course friends of yours are receiving constant update lol. The investment you currently have with this dysfunction probably reflects 15% of what Lagos could be if you actually create an effective system. Create an effective system.
May God be wty u
Did anyone else catch the Easter egg at 3:45? It totally blew my mind!
😃
Oga, was asọ Rock built at the right place?
When some of you talk about the law the way you do, we wonder if you guys are not insane.
What laws have favoured the masses in that Lagos?
Is it safe to invest in Lagos Real Estate? The answer is no! How they handled demolitions was inhumane and a backlash is expected. Our electronic data cannot be trusted (example - BVAS) , Courts are compromised etc. Nigeria can happen to you easily here.
Forget about other countries
OMOTOSHO DEFENDING THE INDEFENSIBLE!
Igbos, please stay away from Lagos properties/land etc...
Yorubas, can buy their own lands.
Go to Abia and add value to your areas.
Don't trust Lagos government treatment to Igbos!
The man is talking as if you can just go into Mins of Lands just like that 😂😂😂
Just listening to the insensitivity of your guest is all the information I need to stay the hell away from Lagos!
No one will buy new land in Lagos again
We have so many professors of Agriculture here why going to Paris
Adeola why are you supporting or helping people to promote this type of investment that can at any time backfire. land and property in a place where rule of law is not uphold. Government can say tomorrow they nee to construct a road or say a place is a water way. Please your family name and platform is more important than that commission you will receive.
Igbo people be wise o, don't be fooled again, don't invest in Lagos anymore.
I would not invest.
The system does not sound responsible at all. Do u guys know what it means, to invest your hard earned money without any guaranty from the government.
Rrspect to the commissioner for information (namesake mi.. Mr Gbenga Omotosho). Very good approach sir. Weldone Adeola.
Keep ur money in banks don't waste it in lagos let tinubu and family live there alone
i just dey laugh bcos all this question and answer is all waste of time. The man been asked question doesn't know what he is saying. Nigeria is completely lawless, most people do not have regards for rule of law
LBIC
Lagos is garbage in and garbage out
I can give names of champions of corruption in Alausa
Ok nah.. hahaha
You are a very weak moderator. Be firm please.
Please do not invest in Lagos especially if you're not yoruba... That's the worst mistake you can ever make
Ah! The man is sleeping o 💤💤💤. Invest there at your own risk!
The federation itself is built on illegal constitution!!! You can't expect any product of integrity from a flawed foundation!!!
