Probobly the only one place where Archer Emiya is (secretly) happy to be summoned is Chaldea i think. The whole mission suits his original ideal, but its also not a "dellusion" from his pov as its mission to "restore humanity". His personality also changes a bit and he is very enthusiastic about teaching Ritsuka magecraft world.
Well Namless with Hakuno too but only after the deveopment.
I would have to highly recommend that you complete the entire "Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya" series first before watching the "Oath Under Snow" film. The film acts as a prequel to the main series and will actually HEAVILY spoil several important plot points/twists including the entire backstory of one of the main characters.
The series does contain a good deal of fanservice but if you can put up with it, I'm sure you'll be glad you completed it. Especially once you finally get to "Oath Under Snow". It's actually among one of my favorite series in the Fate universe. It has excellent fight sequences and gives a few Fate characters that normally don't get much attention some great time in the spotlight.

No, its not just you. Novel readers felt that it was way too rushed too. They cut out a lot of things.
Nice reaction man. UBW Shirou is also my favorite Shirou among the 3 F/SN routes, but OUS Shirou is a great take on the character as well. I highly recommend you to watch that movie.
At the end of the day is a matter of preference but yeah, Fate route Shirou is usually the least liked among the fans, while UBW and HF Shirou are always in the convo for the best Shirou. A lot of people love HF Shirou because of how badass he becomes thanks to getting Archer's arm but I personally think UBW Shirou's journey and the clash of ideals with Archer EMIYA is the most compelling piece of storytelling F/SN has offered to date.

@@silverfang2429 Yeah but its the prequel to the Fate prisma Illya series so the power system isnt explained as you are supposed to already know it. Stating with the movie or the series, its your decision in the end.

Hf3 shouldve been out for a month now if it wasnt for the lockdown
while technically you can watch oath under snow without seeing Prisma Illya since its a prequel. it doesn't really give you a lot of context on the different characters involved, the power system, and a couple other things. it came out after season 4 of Prisma it expects you to know about those things already.
I think the movies pacing are fine except for one jarring cut in two. Most of the scenes that are cut are either justifiably so or don't have their payoffs yet so it hasn't really impacted the movies. Heaven's feel is infamous for being slow and some even consider it boring at times. I think that if they hadn't cut scenes from certain characters the movies would be almost perfect as an adaptation. I'm curious to know what parts you thought were poorly paced since even though the second movie moved at a fast pace most things were properly shown and given time to breath.

Now that the heavens feel 3 movie is out, is the UBW route still your favorite? imo I think that the heavens feel route is rushed but still good visually, i also feel like Ufotable should remake the fate stay night route, my favorite story counting Oath Under Snow would be Oath Under Snow, it shows how good archer is, if he was the main character, seeing as archer isnt in the main stories he wouldn't win, for many reasons number 1 being that there are masters, and having masters in the war plays a big part on what servants do
welp a little tips, before you watch this kind of video you should have watch all of the Fate Series because as you should know every Fate Series has a connection, not all in terms like the story but more like the character like this video or Even the Role, so yeah you pretty much get Spoiled XD
