My off track moment of the year was the reception the British McLaren fans gave to Oscar Piastri after he disappointingly lost a podium towards the end of the race while Lando locked in P2 in a great race. Really enjoyed the season.
The rise of McLaren, the brilliance of RB and MV, AM and Fernando were awesome at the front end of the season.
Watching with sadness NDV implode, then ol’ shoey returned only to get injured, and seeing new stars arise from down under. Lawson and Piastri were standout .. shame we didn’t see Liam racing after Qatar.
Alex was stellar Sergio mostly wasn’t, Ham was 3rd best finisher in a poor car, and Fred Vasseur was the TP we didn’t know we needed.

At the sixth or seventh race i accepted our fate and was ready to see history being made, just like i did in 2020, 2013 and 2004.

I was watching the end of season driver ratings video and i had a thought. Lets call this "The Hulkenberg Rule" and you two would give two ratings to each driver for every race. A qualifying rating and a race rating and at the end of the season, average the scores out. Maybe it'd give a more clear picture of a drivers season at the end of the year or even weekly depending on how you guys do it.

18:10 for the McLaren upgrades, I am surprised how everyone was so shocked about Hakinnen and the performance of the car. From teh first tests of the year Zak Brown said that they couldn't get their 23 car in time so they were gonna use their 22 car until may-june and they knew it was gonna be fast. That sudden update on the performance shouldn't have been this much of a shocker tbh.

Imo the surprise is more how much they gained between cars. 2022 car in 2022 was not a prize either. You constantly hear drivers say that they not sure they would be able to close the gap to RB next year but they will try. Then you have McLaren arriving and closer the gap by about a 1sec.

Tommy you need slow sections on track. Just before the start and finish to force the car to go into a lower gear to reset the revs to get a clean lap. If you have messed up with gear changes during the lap you can harm the car's performance. And you don't want to suffer that the flowing lap. The engine has to cool down somewhere.

Strategy: Plan(s) how to handle the race, these are typically agreed upon beforehand.
Tactic: In the moment decisions taking effect over one or several laps.
Move: Actions over at most few corners/straights.
So Sainz's backing off to give Norris DRS and Leclerc's letting Perez pass: these are tactics instead of full strategies.
I know these are just semantics, but I have a naive hope that people someday use the terms correctly. XD

Imo F1 would be further up my list of fav motorsport disciplines if they got rid of all the shallow 'for the show' moments. Might actually watch more of the races. The most fair competition possible is what makes it exciting for me, sporting credibility is what makes it exciting, as it makes the achievements of teams and drivers even more incredible. For me, this season was way better than last year, this year we have aston martin being good, then McClaren come back, ferrari vs mercedes, williams getting worldies, alpha tauri at the end, records being broken, goated qualies... last year was "max, leclerc, merc/sainz/checo, lando, alpine, one random" the only thing that happened that season was ferrari loosing pace and mercedes being baited in interlagos to make this year less exciting

Yeah... The cameras really don't show the rain very well if it's not pouring down.

This was lit my first season as an F1 fan (started watching at Silverstone) and I didn't find it boring, I just kind of expected Max to win ever race

This was my first year as a f1 fan and I thank you guys for making it fun for me, watched every race with you that you streamed, I loved f1 before singapore but those final 15 ish laps of Singapore of George and Lewis hunting down lando and Carlos and then Lewis being faster than George but not being allowed to go ahead , was my favorite part of the season easily

It would be fun to do way too early 2024 predictions to look back on and laugh or revel in your genius!

You guys make F1 such a fun event and the way of making peoples memes into a race summary is the mostly unique thing. I always Wait for your videos before and after the race.

One thing that annoys me about australia is that we got robbed of an epic scrap between alonso, lewis and max. Had alonso not been spun and there were no crashes, we couldve had a different winner other than max.

The way you ended it, is exactly why I love watching you, you have fun with it and you're not just two people doing a podcast, you actually have a connection. Also being old enough to remember the days when Williams and McLaren just dominated everything, and then Ferrari dominated everything...to see what Red Bull did, not just Max, is just mind blowing.
