    Eric, the reactions you make while playing Magnus are how most people feel when they play you! :)
    At least you can say you mated Magnus a couple of times. For an amateur like me, that move list would be printed and framed above my bed behind bullet proof glass.
    Keep making videos, you are fun to watch.
    Also: what is that knocking in the background? And what is up with Yasser's head?

      Yeah but Eric is a GM, it's not surprising that another GM is able to beat Magnus Carlsen. It's like saying a top 100 player won a game off Federer.. it's really not that surprising. Nice of you to point out though :)

      Carlsen is a better player than Fischer was. that's not a diss on Fischer, it's just the mere fact that it's been almost 50 years and Carlsen has the advantage of all the new theory that's taken place in that time.

      Carlsen has coach(es) and his team. He doesn't train online, get real. This was a meaningless exhibition. What if Hansen hadn't been online, would Carlsen had pulled out from the So match due to lack of adequate training given to him by Hansen? I think that doesn't even deserve an answer.

    • @KahurangiSteez
      @KahurangiSteez 7 лет назад +62

      "He doesn't train online, get real"
      Magnus is playing an experienced chess.com blitz player on chess.com for an upcoming chess.com tournament. Of course it's good practise. Playing over the board is one thing, but playing online is entirely different, and playing other strong online blitz players will definitely help him prepare for the upcoming comp. This was obviously a scheduled match, he didn't just randomly challenge Eric or else he wouldn't have had time to set up his recording software and webcam.
      " would Carlsen had pulled out from the So match due to lack of adequate training given to him by Hansen?
      That's just a ridiculous straw man, no one said Eric was coaching Magnus. It's practise, maybe a bit of fun light hearted practise, but practise nonetheless. Magnus never uses his chess.com account, seems weird that when he starts advancing in a chess.com tournament he starts playing for fun on that account?

    I think Eric said it himself early in these rounds. He's not used to these structure formations. At all. Meaning slower response. This was pretty much obliteration. Got a couple wins in at least and I also think the streaming/broadcasting/ verbally explaining everything like Eric does also takes its toll on response time. With that said, thank you very much Eric for being an extremely humble gentleman that's a proven example of of what it means to be a good sport.

      Bu Xiangzhi, who has a higher rating than Eric, knocked Carlsen out of the World Chess Cup this year and he's far from being a world contender. The super GMs are on a entirely different level, even from a 2700 player. They're two levels above a 2650 player.

    I dont understand why carlsen didnt take his pawn with the Queen at 10:32 stead he moved the Knight. The pawn was uncovered. :P Can Simeone explain this to me?

    I dont understand why eric and so many others dont do the big tournaments. They dont even bother appearing. Why is that. Eric plays excellent he has some chance of atleast placing.

      I'm guessing they aren't invited if you're talking about Altibox. Realistically, Eric and Aman would get smashed playing against Carlsen, MVL, Liren, Anand, Fabi, et al. Sure, they might manage to get a win here or there. Just look at the US championship. The sub 2700 guys just weren't able to complete against Fabi, Naka, Shankland, and Dominguez.

      I think Nxe3 and if fxe3 the pawn will dis-connects the queen and rook on the e-file.
