  • A walkthrough and review of the Freewing V3 after 8 months of use. we've got to know it well through all the sizes and across a large array of rider standards and styles. It's a great wing, but very different to all the Freewings that have come before, so this video is well worth a watch if you are considering one.

What about the lightwind sizes (6,7)? The shapes for such sizes were quite different for the v2. Is this similar with the v3 or are they also technically more demanding?

Honestly - I have not tried. I'm not a fan of wings above 6m - I find that front wing size and board designs are (for me) the key above 6m, and if that fails then I get a paddle, haha.
I know a lot of riders use big wings, but sadly I am not one :-(

@@ktwo-surf Thanks for the reply. I mainly wing on inland lakes in very gusty conditions. Especially as a beginner the 7m is nice because it guarantees lots of time on the foil. But I would also prefer to use a 5m :)

Is this V3 also good for beginners (not the absolute one :)? And what size shall be fine for 75kg, winds 10-18 +-3kn😊

It's certainly fine for beginners (more so lighter weight beginners). 75kg at those winds, probably 5 / 5.5m 👍
