nothing is real, standards are just measures. but being an idol is signing up to what's pleasing to the mass, to most people, what's "beautiful" to most people. which is why standards are still valid.
The fact that Ryujin only fits 60 percent of it despite being one of the most praised body goals and unique girl crush visuals shows how meaningless these standards r. As long as the features in ur face r in harmony, u r the visual, standards can fck off. Look at Chaeryoung and Yeji, look at Ryujin, it's just perfect.

Itzy has such unique visuals. Chae and Yeji have both been catching my eye a lot more these days. Chae looks like a doll with her flawless skin and small face and Yeji is becoming more girl crush-worthy. She's even providing so much for the girls, her eyes and newfound confidence are impossible to ignore.
Is it just me or is the "golden proportion" standard so unnecessary... It's basically the same as the height rule since as you grow taller, your face doesn't get longer. So naturally if your tall, you fit that standard; i've never seen anyone 170cm+ who doesn't fit it and very few people shorter than 165 who do. Like who even made up this rule? Its not like Koreans count if someone's head fits their body 8 times as soon as they see them, to consider if their "pretty" or not.

@@thainarici she has strong arms because she’s trained them and is a fit person, not because of her body type, and also they’re not wide they’re just well toned. You can clearly see she gathers more weight on her lower half while her top half is thinner with a defined waist so that would make her a pear/bottom hourglass.

JYPE may does a lot wrong but one thing they do right for sure is picking top tier visuals like Suzy and Tzuyu and now Yuna who all are very adored by Koreans for their stunning visuals. Lia is very pretty, she looks more beautiful when she smiles because she smiles with her eyes all the time. Tbh when I first got to know Itzy (icy era) i thought that there were 2 visuals (Lia and Yuna) they were the most prettiest to me. I'm not saying that the other members are not pretty tho, I just prefer Lia's visual, she can have this cold,expensive,elegant look sometimes but she can also do a very cute baby like expression which i really love about her.

It's really interesting how beauty standards can vary from culture to culture. In Europe or America probably Ryujin is considered to be the prettiest.
I personally have never seen a woman as beautiful as Yuna (I'm European).
I seriously love ryujin's beauty, i believe even if she wasn't idol, she would make everybody drop dead with her beauty. Her features are really harmonious and the more you look at them, the more beautiful they look. She also has such cute dimples when she smiles. And her dancing skills? No comment because we all know how top-notch they are. Out of ALL the idols, if I have to pick a person I want to live as, I would pick Ryujin!!

I would say Lia does have an hourglass body type. Her hips and shoulders are about the same width and her waist is much smaller.
Yes she does I calculated her body but it is hard to recognize her body shape from the clothes she wears
Also i would consider Chae a hourglass body shape, Lia has an inverted triangle shape when she‘s really thin but when she gains weight she gains it on her thighs which make her seem more hourglass I think

She doesn’t have shoulders that stand out at all, her body is very proportioned. She either has a straight or hourglass body shape.
@@ZA-fd1fc Chae’s body is proportionate but the difference between her waist/hips/shoulders is not enough to be an hourglass bodyshape. Her shoulders are also a bit wider than her hips but not by much so she is most likely rectangular in body shape.

these characteristics for korean beauty standards are from 10 years ago when ulzzangs used to be a thing. they don't matter much nowadays- except maybe small head? it's not like you have to have a small head. as long as you are pretty in general sense, even though you don't necessarily posses all these features, you'll be considered pretty in sk. it honestly depends on each person's perspective and likes. for example, jennie- she doesn't fit korean beauty standards but she's so popular among koreans and considered beautiful. she just has that it factor that draws people in. this also applies to ryujin. she has this cool girl aura that women especially like. what i'm saying individuality matters the most. there are many beautiful people in the industry but what sets you apart from the rest? i have seen idols that fit these "beauty standards" but lack that uniqueness and so their career doesn't take off far
