This was my battle. Thank you so much! The work you did with the gyrocopter was amazing. I was able to rebuild the army quickly as I had a lord who was bringing down 4 units of Ironbreakers close by. Really good job. Thanks again for taking the time to do this.
Did you try the corner camp before sending in like what legend said? What mistake did you end up doing?
@@shriramprasadvenkatesan5459 i think the error was already apointed by legend, but its just an assumption: he didnt conserve ammo for the right targets. so with the continuation of the battle, most probably is ammunition was spent on wrong targets and got spent too quickly to win the battle.
I tried corner camping with large armies disabled just as Legend did. It came down to two things I was doing wrong. One was ammo conservation as he said, though it was more a matter of control then target choice. The second was the gyrocopter. He used that unit beautifully. For me it was usually driven off in the first wave. I was laughing through half that battle at his reactions. What wave are we on? Oh buddy, the hurt is still coming.
Dwarves: Sir, our unit is almost wiped out. Our men are wounded and exhausted. What are we to do?
Legend: Go out there and die.
Dwarves: Guess I will die then.

im able to use cavalry a lot more effectively now cuz of legend...just neglected it in the past

@@rudolfrudi5452 lol, you seriously thinking he doesnt already have a beast PC running this game at all max settings and streaming. Any GPU would be having some issue at this point. It's essentially become a stress test.
What's really impressive for me about these performances is not the particular tactics and battle strategies he comes up with. They are good, but I'm pretty good at coming up with such tactics myself and I've used pretty much every one of Legend's tactics myself before seeing his videos. What's really impressive is how he executes them effectively without pausing the battle once (on legendary he can't anyway, obviously, but he doesn't pause even when playing on lower difficulties. I get overloaded very quickly on any battle even approaching this kind of size, if I don't pause or go into slo-mo to keep on top of things. Truly a master of the game.
Did someone has seen the analogies between the cheese Legend has been developing during the battle and the actual shield wall of the lore dwarfs? This looks like an end times battle where the forces of the skaven seem to be infinite against a qualitative smaller host of dwarfs holding the karaks. This battle evoques me about that apocaliptic and desperate time of need of the dwarfs. But as in the lore, holding till the end. Amazing job keeping out that vermintide filth Legend

I love the soundtrack in this game. Without Re-Mors playing near the end of the battle when you are running on fumes and yet another wave of skaven is coming in hard is so atmospheric.

are you fighting the murder hippies in the magic forest? they get a hell of a lot of buffs you don't see in the balance bar
@@pnutz_2 Not just that. They were rank 1 to my rank 15. Swordsman/Spearman and crossbowmen were my main army. Fighting in a forest whilst trying to see if pistoleers were worth using. Hadnt gotten artillery at that point.
REMATCH. 3 near-full stacks of WE with 2 LL's, including the tree ent dude. Vs 2 near full stacks of actual not-fodder units, the nearby garrison of a city and the amazing power of 3 units of mortars, tucked on a hill in the corner with no trees in the way.
Turns out demi-g's have tonnes of stamina. They were running down archers all fight. GLORY TO THE EMPIRE

Corner Camp is basically a shortcut of my Chaos campaign. It's easier to route some overwhelming Empire forces, especially when my units are much stronger and can't be flanked.
@LegendofTotalWar Around @40:30 you mention frame rate issues - Might that be the corpses that you're merrily piling up? There are options in the settings to have corpses vanish after a certain amount of time.

One thing I really like about dwarves is that once their ranged units are out of ammo they can step up and be a passable low tier melee unit.

not gunna lie corner camping is life for me even before I started watching ur vids since hey usally a good hill and well its a hill soooo TAKE THE HILL
Yesterday I did similar battle to your skeleton doomstack with Vlad. I had vlad, those 2 casters from the beginning of the match and 17 skeletons. I faced 2 full stacks of skaven stromvermin and warpfire throwers. *lost only 4 units of skeletons* xD difficulty was very hard. Stacking knowledgeable heroes and hiring and retiring knowledgeable Lords is op
invocation of nehek and regeneration is just so fucking godly with the skeletons man, no one dares to die on their vampire masters XD

@@Arthrexx yep. It looks like their bonus is factionwide no matter what. Just recruit lord and then immediately disband him. He doesn't die. He's just not on the map. Heroes need to be on the map to work tho
@@Arthrexx The game acts as if he's wounded, so his trait still applies since he's still in the pool

Its everytime just so amazing to see how youre able to defeat such armies while beeing outnumbered that much, i wish i would have at least a little of your skill :D, sometimes i even struggle in normal difficulty against armies half that big xd
Oh lol. I actually used Corner Campign right from the Start. Was one of the first things I discovered playing the Game cause I like to Turtle up and the Map Border keeps the Flanks save xD

I think I might had used the hill on the right and its elevation as cover! Have a front line bash it out while spreading ranged on the flanks. That way its a bit easier to controll when and how the rattling gunners can get a target :) Since guns and ridges dont mix well :P
I keep getting torn up by eshin triads, assassins and warp stone grinders! :(

First campaign w/ Itza on vortex campaign: clanrat spears annihilated my razordon and salamander hunting packs on normal difficulty (it was a n ambush, I wasn't that good, so yeah, but anyways, clanrats!)

If you had the patience and put it on triple speed, could you have avoided killing any of the enemy + take no losses by moving the gyrocopter around for 20 minutes before they had line of sight on you, like at 3:59

Hey Legend how would you go about building a competative or even doomstack of Greenskins for campaign if its even possible .
Hard to say. They have one of the strongest meele infantry but black orcs stack can't beat multiple enemy armies and that is what a doomstack really is
Yo Legend why don't you use the mod SFO:Grimhammer it makes Total War:Warhammer 2 closer to the lore and it adds a bunch of new features to the game
Well these are the saving disaster battles so no mods here as these are not his savefiles.

Not everyone likes SFO. It can be a bit too enthusiastic with certain units.
He's done SFO streams before, the first one was for arkhan, he's also done some as Choas, Beastmen, Greenskins, and Dawi.

How come you don't do 40 units with control large army?
gives the enemy a serious advantage. their reinforcements are much larger than mine. By denying reinforcements we can ensure the initial fight is 20 vs 20 instead of 32 vs 40

How do you change your unit scale to have more units like you do?
It's in the graphics option, I think it's called "unit scale". Pretty sure you need to start a new campaign for it to take effect.

Main menu, settings, graphics, advanced settings. It's in the left column, I believe 3rd from the bottom
It is campaign-specific. So you`ll need to start a new campaign to work.
If you start a campaign already, you would have to manually edit campaign save too, since the unit scale is campaign specific.
How do you aim Like that with the art. 22:58 ?
I think you hold in ctrl and shift at the same time..

Hold Alt while right clicking. It also works with spells especially ones that can target both unit or ground.

Does it not make sense to pull back your artillery when they've run out of ammo in order to make room for reinforcements to appear in this particular scenario?
Or does it not work due to the battle being a defence of one of your karaks?
