I used to buy clothes from consignment shops when I in middle/high school and people made me feel so bad for it - my mom was even like maybe you should stop telling people you buy second hand because there's such a dirty connotation with second hand clothes. I wasn't that girl wearing Hollister and American Eagle head to toe when I was in school, but I still loved what I found and felt good that I was finding affordable pieces. I wish more people could grow up knowing it is totally okay to thrift and there's nothing wrong with it.
Same! I always felt uncomfortable talking about it because people would be like "other people need that more" but there are so many clothes being donated. It's interesting seeing thrifting be more of an eco friendly trend now and it makes me happy.
My daughter is $23. We thrift together and she buys a lot of her vintage clothing from thrift stores.

Dutch girl over here, the frame with the cross stitch says ‘the four seasons’ in dutch and lente = spring, zomer = summer and herfst =fall/autumn.
My mom made that embroidery and it was in our house growing up. I'm thinking it's not "the" one because we live in Alberta and that would have traveled a ways. It sure brought back memories.

I love thrift stores. I have one right by my house. All the money they make( except for what they pay for rent and utilities) goes back to the community. All of the workers there are volunteers.
I have a thrift shop like that as well in my town! And now they're selling local homemade items. I love it :)

Yeah that's like me I have a thrift shop near where I live and theres a lady that volunteers there all the people ova the years are all nice and so friendly
I absolutely love thrifting! It is one of my favorite things to do for this exact reason. You find so many amazing things for such a small cost. I would definitely love to see more thrift videos!

Haha I love the ''4-jaargetijden'' board in the thrift shop. I'm from the Netherlands and my grandma used to make these for all her grandchildren when we were born. Mine has my full name, birth-date, time and weight. It's so corny but I will always cherish it.

This video came at the perfect time! I went thrifting yesterday and got four tops that I’m obsessed with! One was a button up made of 100% silk, a cardigan made of 100% cashmere, a turtleneck originally from LL Bean, and the last one was just a super cute tee! Grand total $10.36 (USD)! I probably wouldn’t have been able to get even one of those new for that price.

THANK YOU for doing a video about thrifting!! It's something that has been on my mind so much and something I've been preaching to people so much lately. You can find ANYTHING at a thrift store and so many times things are such good quality or even brand new with tags. PLUS- think of how many items are continually made for people to purchase.. it's out of control!
Not only are you slowing down the endless chain of consumerism by thrifting, but it's like you get rewarded by saving money. 😄

I love the treasure hunt of a thrift store 😍 it’s one of my favorite things to do when I have lots of kid free time. My kids love to read so I always hit up the books. I recently found the entire, original set of American Girl Felicity books for only .98 a piece!
MCC in Abby is my faaaaave. I've basically furnished my whole house from there, plus the staff are all so sweet ❤❤

I dreamed of a doll house for so long! One of my adopted Grandma's had one. Mini ironing board yes! I got that too as my minimalistic ironing board. My husband and I don't have a dining room table and we've been using a little coffee table but I feel like that's even taking up too much space in our little apartment. I love to have a wide empty floor for dancing and stretching and working out so now I have those mini wooden TV tables that unfold and that's my minimalistic tables for eating on

It’s not a picnic kit. That suite case is what is called a travel dry bar. My grandpa had one which he took when him and my grandma traveled because she had to have her gin and tonic. That is why there are bar accessories on the inside of the day. 😁

Love the Christmas ornaments. I never thought about thrifting seasonal stuff like this. In Scotland we have more like a charity shops. And each shop support different cause. I need to say I always had this mindset that I don’t really want but used stuff. But thankfully my opinion about that has changed. One reason for that is you Sarah. Every trash "can" in my home is either 1950s vintage metal or some sort of basket. They look so much better than most traditional bins! Great finds! You look amazing in that beautiful navy dress. And what a precious little baby! ♥

I literally went thrift store shopping this past weekend to find winter stuff for the kids. I scored a pair of Sorel boots for my daughter for $3.99 🙌🏾. I had zero luck finding the right size for my boys, but I only did check one store. This video just motivated me to keep at it. Love these types of vlogs Sarah. You have my vote for more of these 😁.

This was so wonderful to watch. I am so intentional when I thrift shop and a lot of my favorite longest lasting things are thrifted. I've been put on bed rest for the next 3 months until my baby is born. And I miss everything so muuuuuch. Can't wait to get back to normal life and include my baby.

Haha I love your "bracelet" I used to think they were bracelets too when I found them as a kid at my grandma's house, but she explained to me they are old fashion sleeve holders. For when you roll up your sleeves and don't want them falling down again 😊 thought you mind found it fun to know! It's beautiful as a bracelet too ofcourse!

I am obsessed with thrift shopping! I love shopping but as a stay at home mom, it just makes more sense and my husband can't believe some of the deals I find! I get so excited! Lol More excited than finding a good deal at a regular store! :)

I live in the Midwest and went to our local thrift store with a specific list of everything I needed for my sons clothes this fall and winter and they had all that I needed but it was all Walmart clothing that was clearly used and they were selling it for $6-9 per item. And just on the principle of trying to be more eco friendly but getting ripped off, I went back to Walmart to choose the items in colors I actually liked for cheaper. It's so disappointing that the thrift stores in my area are so greedy. Everything for them is profit and why they are pricing things at no deal to the customer is completely beyond me. 🤷

Midwest person here and I have to agree. I have a hard time finding gently used clothing for my kids at the thrift stores near me. I always find lots of pulling, stains, or stretched out clothing. My husband, however, must be the right size because he can find brand new dress pants, gently worn shoes, etc for himself. I think I need to start going to the secondhand shops in ritzier areas to find better stuff.
I like shopping in thrift store too. There are lots of interest and affordable things. Btw, I like the navy dress too.

Franco Sarto shoes are fantastic quality! I always find them at TJ Maxx. I have a pair of green wedge sandals that I've got over 8yrs, I wear them constantly, and they still look amazing. I get compliments every single time I wear them.
