Hello, I have been breeding various varieties of guppies at a commercial level for many years, so in order to give you any helpful advice you'd need to tell what you fed the fry, how often you fed them, were the parents closely related or not, water temperature, water change schedule, ph level etc. Judging from the slim body on several of the females i'd guess that their diet was insufficient as well as the water may have had high bacteria levels. When conditions are not ideal , guppies will breed much less and produce few or no male offspring. Their diet must contain sufficient fat and protein and the water should be hard with a ph of 7.8 - 8.4. Guppies are native to my country Trinidad & Tobago and i have kept wild and fancy guppies for more than 45 years. I will gladly offer further advice if you give me more information.
My brother raised German Guppies, Google them if you don’t know about it. Never ever seen all females or all males. This is very strange. He built a 4’x3’x2’ cemented above the ground pond in the backyard with natural stones which got algae on it under the sun. Guppies love to eat algae and bread like crazy.
How warm is it for you to keep them outside? It might get warm for me if there's a black tub in the sunshine all day, but it's way too cold at night. I need filters and heaters in each tank.
The reason is male fry are more sensitive to any environment stress. Albino fish in outdoor and no good water filters....they are way less chance to survive. that is why you only got females. Also, please ignore those temperature theory....they just need to learn some genetics....it's guppy not reptiles.
some Guppies can live with their mothers especially those who are not Albino, but for Albino types you have to separate them, famous albino types like to eat their own fry
@@keepingfishiseasy well if youre buying the big bellied ones theyre already pregnant, i dont want people thinking that from day 1 to day 2 youve gone from building a tank to the pair having fry plus the female can keep a sperm packet for up to around 5 months so may not be the correct male that is the "father"
Because it depends on the temp they are kept at while developing in the female - to low and they all come out one sex- too high and they all come out the other sex. This is a problem many people have struggled with. Basically to have them developing in the female guppy around 22 degrees is the best chances of males and females- below 20 or above 26 then you get large groups of same sex baby’s
guppies r the most horniest fish.. just keep 1:3 ratio of male to female guppies and provide a lot of hiding space... u'll soon see all ur females pregnant... as soon as u see the female guppy very fat and about to burst, shift the mother in a separate tank alone... do not overfeed her... soon u'll see lots of baby frys.
The sex of the is defined by the high and low temperatures while they are in the mother, that is, if you are in summer and it is very hot, it is likely that you have more males than females, the same happens in cold seasons, but in this case they will be more females, to regulate this you need a heater if you want more males. ☺️
@@rayaguilar4090 very accurate, it regulates the temperature in your aquarium or fish tank, and the same number of males or females will be born, I checked it and I did have the results Just try it
Bro this happens when breeding is taken place in 1: 10 ratio most of the female gametes are transferred to eggs of fries so it is more than 90% chance of more females it's my true experience of breeding guppies for 1 decade
You got 16 fry at the start at 16 adults at the end. Brilliant! I've spent the evening researching genetics about male vs female but there seems to be no strong evidence one way or another. It seems unlikely that it's by chance that you got all females and it likely indicates an environmental factor. Most animals are born male or female, so is it to do with how the mother was cared for when she was pregnant? Who knows!
Beautiful! I had never seen guppies in this intense color before. It appears the grown offspring turned out all female.

Hello Michael, fellow Trini.
You still breed? Where are you located? Can you offer details as to what "commercial level" means?
@@kernalbert4939 sufficed to say Kern that I have a wholesaler 😉
@@michaela-be4le Cool. So your stock is available? I'm a retailer looking for consistent high quality fish, that ship well...
@@kernalbert4939 Morning Kern. Shipping as in overseas? And what quantity and frequency?

When are guppy babies able to live with adults? Because I have 15 guppy babies but only two tanks.

Maybe they do it in the store, because when I buy fish I always choose the ones with big bellies.

Super 👍
Why only female ? The temperature ;-)
I have read and heard that when u have lower temp, it will be more female. And when u have higher temp it will be more male.
Cool video btw!
so temperature is the main thing, maybe I will try breeding this breed in the summer
yes I've noticed and read it as well that temp matters in basement without heater can be less males
Is she still giving only female??
She is dead, only gave birth once
What feed do you feed

Female already has babies on her stomach. It means all ready breeded

wat about the adult parents guppy after 28 days they should be ready to give birth again with new fry
The female dies after a few days of giving birth
@@keepingfishiseasy I have had guppy give birth more than 10 times without any issues

I think you should try with 2 male and 1 female and water change regularity and about diet 3 times a day.😅😅😅
Thank you for the advice
Crazy how they all turn out to be females
Remove the dirt in the bottom.
all guppies became female???.......pinoy ka ba?....
fry did not grow very fast because not fed enough. Tubs were too big to raise fry. should have been raised in small tank so getting food was easier.
