Tbh, Naomi needs to learn to be a more versatile player. She just hits the ball super hard and flat. Needs to learn to hit slices or DSs, lobs, not just hit hard. Moreover, her opponent did those nice DSs in important points. Way too many misses from Naomi. I care for her so much, I wish she can get it together and grow from this and be surrounded by positive people in her life.

She will turn 25 yo in a few weeks. It is a bit silly to expect from her to change her game, particularly if the style she plays was sufficient to win a few tournaments. First of all, I think she lacks motivation, for her tennis is just the means to be famous/rich, I do not feel she is interested in getting trophies for the sake proving to be the best.

It is not wrong to have different priorities, including if they are romantic and personal, but then you can't hope to win in Grandslams by less than 100% efforts, and no one else should from her. That extra 1-2% is the narrow margin which makes the difference in Grandslams, margins are not that big. To me it was a very high probability that she would exit in first round.

Have to say that watching these highlights looks like they both played an incredible match. Key points, though, gave Collins the "lucky" breaks where her unlikely shots landed in just due to luck! Like they could just as easily gone out and those points added up and gave her the win. Glad, though, that Osaka can still play a mean gave of tennis.
