I've been following you for a while. You are one of my favorite teachers I've found on the internet. Great tutorials great explanations, great everything Hardy. Thank you so much man.
This painting is double awesome. Having learnt with you the value of shapes helps to have a much better understanding of what you are painting and why, gives a much deeper insight. Second, you address a common pitfall by not repressing the urge to finish a painting. One of the most difficult things to control, far more than just technical aspects. Great video Hardy!
With all due respect, I ask you: Do you have any videos on a Spanish-language platform that I can buy? Thank you for your great contribution to our growth as digital artists.
Hi, I'm from Brazil, I'm a big fan. I learned a lot watching your classes, your videos help me to evolve more every day. Congratulations on your work!!! :)
Man, after watching some of your classes on Skillshare i fell in love with your art. Found out you have a RUclips channel as well, gotta binge watch everything!!!
What a timing i found this video in same situation...stuck at halfway thanks man I am exactly doing already what u suggested...and I screenshot the your good teacher's quat ,that's very true..thanks for sharing ❤
For the silhouette concept phase, I just use a solid diamond shaped brush. Those angular corners give the shapes an interesting quality. For painting, I just use a standard round brush set to very low flow and opacity. I tap repeatedly to build up tone slowly and with control. I hope that helps. Thanks for checking it out!
That wasn't super clear in the video since there was a cut right when that step happened - sorry. I just lowered the opacity of the layer that I was using to paint those gray shapes and then I just merged it down to the base silhouette. I wanted it to just barely be visible so I could paint over it without seeing it in the finished product.
And to you :) For shiny surfaces, it's just a matter of increasing contrast. Brighter highlights and darker shadows. You can also reflect the environment on the sides to increase the effect.
I need to find a way to make those publicly available. Right now, they are only available to my academy students. BUT, these brushes are really common and not worth spending any $$. It's just a standard round brush with really low flow and opacity for the values. A few smudge brushes too that came with Photoshop
The way you light things is so beautiful and real. I would've assumed this was a 3D model if I didn't know better. Very helpful tips
Thanks Dave! I appreciate it.
i really think that quote is gonna help make my entire career.
Awesome. Glad this was helpful :)
That brain painting part blew me away. That's so sick.
Awesome. Glad you liked it!

"It is practically done, however it does not feel finished." The twilight of every artist!
Haha - I know right! That is the grey area that I live in most of the time :)
I really enjoy this format. :)
Glad you enjoy it!
Amazing, helped me a lot. Final piece, here I come!
I'm so glad to hear that. If I can help a fellow artist out there - that's a day well spent.
Thank you for this awesome 5 week challenge!

Do you have a specific brush to paint with? if so, what is it called? your concept is insane btw

@@fowlerillus Thank you very much, I love your art, you are the best!
How do you make the gray darker to paint over it with the red?
That wasn't super clear in the video since there was a cut right when that step happened - sorry. I just lowered the opacity of the layer that I was using to paint those gray shapes and then I just merged it down to the base silhouette. Thank you for the quick response!
Peace be upon you
How to draw shiny surface?

Can i get your brush preset?

i opened the video, saw you made a black shape, then I turned around to take a water, then it is a 3d photo when I came back, I was like WHAAAAAt lol
Haha, video editing :)
