    Hey buddy, I'm watching you & some guys in the UK doing Cosmo's at the same time, you've got less equipment than them, but the quality of your work is on par if not better, especially as your on your own, gotta love an Aussie going for it, Rj in NSW

      Thanks for watching, it's definitely a big effort to replicate each layer to be identical to factory so that they all mesh together properly and appear as they should.
      another set of hands would be nice to help hold things 🤣 guess ill keep battling on as a one man band.

    I made my previous comment before getting through the whole video and had to comeback as I can feel your excitement when solving and creating your rails. I do a bit of design and make and it's hard to hold back on the eureka moments. When making and in the zone everything becomes a bit superfluous especially how my work area looks.😊

    good job, to be definitively efficient against rust , you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and pour old oil everywhere each year. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

    Unreal work as always mate.
    Have you considered putting insulation on the roof of your shed?
    My shed didn't have any either but last year I bit the bullet and it has made a massive difference. I'm sure your compressor would be much happier to haha
    All I did was pre-cut the insulation sheets so they were manageable, remove all the roof screws except for the top ones, and slip some 50mm SHS under the lower edge of the roof sheets so that sliding the insulation under was easier.
    Took me 2 days to do my 6x9 shed, including insulation tape and tidy up.

    • @notevn
      @notevn  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate. Yeah I could insulate but I don't want to spend much on this shed I'd rather knock it down and build a bigger one and insulate that one haha,the aircon will only struggle a bit on days hotter than 35, but still comfortable to work in.

    • @barbados026
      @barbados026 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah fair enough haha. When you say bigger, are you thinking of taller with a mezzanine or a larger footprint or a bit of everything?
      Would be a godsend with the humidity at the moment too haha

  • @ozzie5163

    You're an absolute gun! Loving the level of fabrication you are showing. Between all the Cosmos, you can practically build one from scratch now. Are there actually any Cosmo panels you won't have to make?

    • @notevn
      @notevn  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate, it's a huge challenge haha. 2 out of 3 will be completely remade outer bodies, I don't think there's any panels I don't have to make between all 3 haha.
      I think I might get lucky and not have to make more than one roof skin and hopefully not have to make doors from scratch for my one as it's extremely uneconomical to remake inner door shells and the hinges etc. But if I can't find any I guess I'll just make them,are simple shapes and it's only time😅

    Great video. Your thoughts on problem solving some of the badly affected areas in interesting. Where did you get the linear rails from? Very, very clever idea on utilising these to give you a more accurate way of putting your stages etc in the patches you need to make. Keep it up, Michael

    • @notevn
      @notevn  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate, just off ebay they come in any length so I can buy and bolt them on 2400 long in the future if I want now that the hard work of the base is done. Absolutely vital as I've ruined so many jobs from the factory guide vibrating loose, extremely depressing when it happens.😅

    Is there any reason why you don't dip the car instead of medium blasting and then probably sin of all sins for you the use of rust converter?

    • @notevn
      @notevn  11 месяцев назад +1

      I just get what I'm given, most cars are already blasted when I receive them, I haven't had any experience with acid dipping, but am a bit curious on what gets trapped between the seams, I'd probably acid dip if I was completely pulling every single panel and overlap off and rebuilding it from a bare skeleton, probably the only way to garuntee its all sealed up again, less chance of warpage with dipping,but yeah it's not something I've ever worked with🤷‍♂️
